For LOL! Don't Text & Drive!

I just saw a very sad short movie (10 minutes) on texting and driving, which I think you all will benefit from watching.

Here is the email I got from my father as he sent it (it was sent to him, it's not a relative of mine):

Friends,

My niece is driving up to Phoenix today from Tucson, where she is a senior at the University of Arizona. She’s coming to town to attend the funeral of a friend of hers, Ali, a beautiful 21 year old girl who had a car accident…because she was texting while driving. We’ve all seen the news stories and read articles on this – and yet I’m guessing many of us still know people who text while driving and perhaps we’ve been guilty of a quick check of our email while driving ourselves. Talking to my sister today about the horror that Ali’s family has lived through over the past 17 months as she lingered in a coma – and the grief over losing their daughter to such a senseless accident, I felt compelled to share her story.

Below is a link to a 10 minute documentary, The Last Text. I hope you’ll take a minute to watch it and share it with others…and if you (or someone you love) is still texting while driving, perhaps you’ll reconsider?

Have a good (and safe!) weekend…

Please watch the video, it is important...

Guys, it's just not worth it... ---> When I finished 11th grade, that very night a girl from my grade was killed in a motorcycle accident. Her boyfriend was smoking drugs and they hit a tree. People don't think about these things and then it's too late. Don't take the chance!

People can sometiems get caught up in work and other crap, and forget the real stuff that matters. Don't get caught up in something so much, you forget the basics.

In the title "For LOL!" - For Love Of LIFE!!!

Pass it on to your families and your friends please.

Daniel

Thanks Daniel. You are completely right on this. I see people in my town doing this all the time. Learn defensive driving, there are lot's of impaired drivers on the road as well as "texters".

When I was in highschool, our staff submitted us to loads of smart driving lectures, especially after what happened to that girl. It was such a tragedy. Our head teacher told us to be careful on that very morning, before we left for summber break.

Kids think that stuff is dumb and useless, however reflecting back, I wish I had listened more intently, and even gone to more lectures of that nature.

I can only imagine what must be going on in the disabled kid's mind every day...
Just thinking about those things makes me both sad and furious at the same time...

The great thing about this video is the genuine human emotion.
As I've said above, I've seen many videos of this nature, however this one is probably he best. I've seen some way to graphic for people, which actually show the bodies collide. It's sad when you think that now a day, teenagers only respond to vivid images.

      Stay safe

I usually say to myself, "what are they thinking?" when I see people who rides their bike or drive their car like they were in an real emergency, while they actually aren't!
I wonder if I was also like that when I was much younger..
