So many ideas...so little time. How do you manage that?

Everyday I have at least 3 or 4 ideas on internet marketing and business ideas. How do you deal with the constant stream of ideas? Do you shelve them, do you take action on all of them? There is only so much time in the day, but I don't want to let the next great idea go because I was stuck on focusing on one idea. The last time I did that, I saw a guy get rich on an app idea I had months before, but I didn't bothered to develop it as I was busy working on a different business.

Pick the idea that is the straightest, clearest, simplest, and shortest, and easiest path to cash... then when you have cash you will have the freedom to try more ideas.

Start with a small goal. I dare you to make $200 this week with a totally fresh idea starting from scratch right now, this very moment!

I think John pretty much hit the nail on the head.

I would also consider which idea has the better long-term implications. I'd rather make $100 a week off an idea for ten years than $300 a week for six months. Of course that could change depending on you financial goals and situation.

This is a great response. Too many times we make lists that confuse us as to which idea to follow, which path to take, and then as we barely get started towards our goal we give up and pick another idea.

Take time to decide which idea to pursue and don't look back!

I like to keep a small notebook on me at all times so I can jot down other things that I think I might eventually want to pursue, but in the end, you have to just choose one direction and go. Focus = follow one course until successful.

John has given you some great advice.

Regarding all those ideas, just buy a notebook or journal & write down all of those ideas so you don't lose them, and keep focused on your current project.

I keep a running list of ideas in a Google Doc document, when I'm "stuck" or lacking motivation I look at the list. I also rotate through a variety of "projects" so that I don't become stuck in a rut.

      Very nice.

Google Docs is becoming my new best friend. I already use it to keep up with a few other projects. Great idea.

        1. Write the idea into my notebook.

2 Go over ideas regularly (weekly) more in-depth, mentally deciding whether they fit my goals.

        3. Put all ideas that do fit my goals into the "to do" list.

        4. When ready for a new idea, sift through the list, choose one, plan it into my calendar, and run it. l find time, results, and priorities take care of about 80% of the original ideas. *smiles*

I used to keep a notepad doc on my desktop, and would just put all my ideas there. However, Google Docs is quickly becoming my new best friend as well. It's so convenient!

And, it's never a good idea to do too many things at once. That's why the list is so great. That way you can keep those creative juices flowing, focus on one project at a time, and keep track of all of your other ideas for later use.

Keep a notebook with you at all times. You may have epiphanies (or light bulb moments) when you think of an idea to implement. During such moments, it is crucial for you to write them down, so you'll remember them later.

Find time everyday to review your ideas. Time management is the key. If you can delegate certain aspects of it or outsource it, then do so. This will free you some time to focus on the tasks that you can do or those that you enjoy doing.

    Hi,

Get the ideas down on paper. Act on them immediately.

Ideas are airy and transient: here one minute, gone the next. Seize it in the Now and act on it.

Amen! I just came up with a scorcher! It perfectly fits what I want to do and what I believe in. It will take the next few months to create, but this product will defiantly work!

Sticking to 1-2 ideas and implementing only those is an art and patience. Zuckerburg did not start 4 facebook ... So learn to stick to idea which can be scaled and which is feasible enough.

Implement that idea for an appreciable period of time..

    Success is not far.

    Thanks

Whenever I visit an IM forum or blog, I get more than one idea that I can
put into action. Unfortunately, there is not enough time and energy for realizing
    every one of them.

If I find an idea to be promising and if I have time, I work on it immediately. If I
don't have time, I save it for a future time. And on the second look,
most ideas don't look as good as they seemed before.

This is a great thread for me. I feel pulled in a dozen directions and get caught in the trap of not enough time. There are many helpful ideas here. I especially like the one with taking the shortest path to make some money then roll it into the next idea.

I keep hearing that Google Docs works. I guess the act of putting it on paper or in a document file will help release the mind from having to hold onto the ideas. This should help the creativity flow.

I know what you mean. the ideas keep coming and it gets confusing and crazy. Get them all down on paper, pick one and work it. You may even find that some of the other ideas will fit in with the one you're working on and take it to the next level.

The great thing is that they never stop coming and you will always have a source of inspiration. I used to figure I was just an idea person and not a finisher. I just wanted to give the ideas to someone who would run with it and then just give me my cut. Now I realize I am a finisher with a never ending supply of ideas and no limits.

    Wishing you much success

I call it ''the curse of the blessed''. It's a great gift --to be able to generate or attract ideas effortlessly. But, it's a double-edged sword.

I'd record them as advised. Prioritise them and see how they relate to your business model or lifestyle. How can they help accelerate your growth? Do you notice a common theme? Concentrate on the most feasible. Focus on the ones that relates to your passions.

No one makes money from how many ideas they're able to generate. Real moolah comes from focus, from concentration. From taking an idea to its logical conclusion. From testing them in the cold and harsh (and often loving) rays of fate.

I was like that. Like a butterfly, floating from one dream to another...and another...

I started getting results when I decided on the most haunting idea. The most stubborn. The one that leaves you no peace. The one that fills you with joy.

    The key is self-discipline.

I wish you the best in your pursuits.

It doesn't matter how many ideas you get in any day but what matters is your ability to sort out what comes to your mind and your ability to see which ones that will make you the easiest, quickest and fastest cash returns with less effort and peace of mind.

If you really have that many ideas every day then I agree with the post directly above mine.

      This one...

You can share many of your ideas that you have no time to implement which then allows other people the opportunity to implement your ideas as is or even improve on the original ideas.

And you get some money from clicks and so forth.

Heck, for that matter it sounds like a perfect way to build an opt-in mailing list. Offer to send 1 of your ideas every day. I think you would definitely get some people to sign up for that.
