You Tracking Your Stuff?
Here's what I mean. I've been tracking my progress, everyday through writing down on a sheet of paper what exactly I did (wrote an article for one of my blogs, interacted with people on the net for a while, worked on another project etc..) and after the week is over, I look at exactly what I did, what each action contributed to and even how much time I spent on each thing.
I do this for a number of reasons. First, I keep track of the time I spend on each thing which is a great way to become a lot more precise with how much time you spend on tasks.
Secondly, I can then do a meta study (a study of the progress sheet) to determine how much action I am taking toward what goals.
So if I want to gain 100,000 subscribers by next February on one of my websites, am I spending more time and engaging in more tasks that have something to do with that? Or am I putting more time doing other tasks that may not be as significant in my hierarchy (order of goals by importance)?
Simple little measurements that take less than 10 minutes a day do a great job at refining the hell out of the way you operate! Works for me. What do you guys think? Have any similar strategies?
Thanks for reading.
