I wanted to f*** Be SOMEONE

Hey Warriors

Just realized something a while ago.

When people asked my about my dreams and/or aspirations, I always answered: I want to be SOMEONE.

No matter who asked or what I did, I wanted to be somebody.

A lot of time I spent reading interviews and coaching programs of people that were considered as SOMEONES.

I realized what the general notion of being somebody actually meant. Most people only care about having a nice job, a nice house, an nice wife or husband, a nice car, a nice house and a nice white fence on the yard. Most people only care about fitting this **** cookie cutter model of what it's known as success.

I realized how people beat themselves up and focus on the only goal of being somebody. They kept rolling their eyes to past mistakes and looking forward to the future, but never taking the time to analyze and appreciate what they've got RIGHT NOW.

So I came to the realization (again) that no matter who, what, or when, you're always SOMEONE. Right now, right this moment. I'm someone, and i don't need anything to prove that to me. I'm sure of it.

10 Steps to Finding your Inner Someone:

1) Bring down the mask. No matter what you're hiding from, the truth is no one cares. This life is short enough to spend it hiding.

2) Take Time. Take the time needed to find who you are. there are always million clichés about how hard is finding who you are. The truth is that i'ts been there all along. This includes what you think of yourself, your goals, what you like doing, who you like been around with, your favorite movies, the quotes that define yourself and even the brand of toilet paper you use.

3) Stop Listening to Someones. No matter how many billions they've made last year, how many hotels they own, no one can tell you more about yourself and who you are than yourself.

4) Don't give a *** if other people consider that you're someone or not.

5) Repeat step 2.

6) Repeat step 1. You've probably know a bit more about yourself now.

7) Stop pleasing others. Make things because you want it to, not because others expect you to.

8) Dig Deep. You surely won't find out anything about yourself on the surface.

9) Take Risks. the best path to self awareness is to push your limits. take some risks. So things you won't normally do. This way, you'll not only discover what your made of, but your skills and capacities as well.

10) Never Stop Searching. Every day you'll discover something new about yourself. Take that and blend it with your newly discovered someone.

Just remember that no matter what, you're always someone. Someone towards yourself and the rest of the world.

This someone is whoever you want it to be, you don't have to try to please everyone, cause that's impossible. Just embrace your inner someone, and don't be afraid to show it. Be your someone every day and, if you piss other along the way, then that's fine, you must be doing something right.

My goal now, it's not trying hard to be someone.

My goal is becoming the perfect version of the someone that I already am.

First one is the best one in my opinion. Bring down the mask, be yourself, because you are both similar to everyone else, and really unique at the sametime

    This is great advice.

While I'm new to the WF, I've been in IM since last century.

In the beginning, I enjoyed the anonymity of the online world but I really didn't start making money until I dropped the mask and started putting myself out there.

It was very scary at first because I was worried about all types of preconceived opinions and prejudices but I soon discovered that although there were those types of people, most people were just like me and couldn't possibly care less about the stuff I was worried about.

Don't be afraid of what people could think about you, it takes time and focus out of what you should be doing online, making money.

In the words of the interwebz...

Great post Stryker, I'd like to add my own footnote however.

Finding who YOU are doesn't mean that the endpoint is the richest "YOU" you could be; but it will definitely be the most fulfilled YOU.

Life's to short to worry about being the richest person ever; find what makes you happy, find a way to support yourself comfortably and try to enjoy every second of what you do.

Good one. Life is short indeed, and if you focus on anything rather than being happy, you're wasting your time.

    great advice!

But I am sure it must take time to unmask and find your true self and what is more important - stay confident of that your true self.

And life is short. All of us should hurry up.

    love this,
    fantastic realisation

    dig deep, go within
    discover who you are
take the time to engage the path of self knowledge
and stop listening to those other 'someones'

they are not wired like you
    made like you
they dont get the same motivation or inspirations from the same things as you
they havent come to do, and be what you've come to be and do

it seems that the media is full of composite standards that we are being told we need to do this, buy that etc to live up to

    all the answers are within
it takes time to cultivate your own garden tho

This is great advice! And it is true, if you take down the mask, then you will actually feel better in your own skin and be successful. And you know, there are gonna be those who will judge out there no matter what. You can't escape it but think about it, for those who judge...are they truly happy with themselves and their accomplishments? I didn't think so, so **** them and just do what you need to do to be successful.

It's hard to be yourself these days.

Sometimes it really is best to be stubborn of your own thoughts and form your own opinions about everything.

Max, I really like your post. Many people self-sabotage because they are afraid their friends and family won't approve if they become "somebody"

This is something that I have had to come to terms with. There is such a thing as people being afraid of financial success. Why, because many people love to hate the rich. Who wants to be hated?

So the best way to be is to not give a flying fig what people think and just be yourself and go for it. The people who really give a damn about you will stick by you through thick or thin. If they don't, they aren't worth it anyway.

People are afraid of being successful because being successful implies change. People are afraid of change, whether good or bad just because they feel too comfortable in the situation they're now (whether good or bad again). People just have to realize that any change is good, that the only way life is going to get better is embrace the change that awaits ahead after the curve. That's the only way.

    Hey Max,
Great post and it brings 2 great quotes to mind the first is " it's none of my business what you think of me" and the other is "if I'm in you're business, who's taking care of my business". If one can let go of their ego long enough the freedom is truly liberating.
    To Your Success,

          Hey Max,
Great post and it reminds me of a quote by Dr. Wayne Dyer

"it's none of my business what you think of me"

If we all lived by that 99% of our self-imposed limitations would disappear
          instantly.

I think in order to find your true self you need to really delve into who you are where you came from and where you plan on going. Right after graduating college I had major issues as to who I was going to be come or where I was going, I had gone from a control environment (School) to a world filled with uncertainty.

I went ahead and took a 9 day hiking trip into the Cascade Mountains in Washington State where I literally got away from every noise you can possibly imagine, no cell phone, no radio, no TV, no media. Just me, myself and I, and the awesome group that I was with. At one point on this trip I took time to meditate a top of this hill beside a majestic mountain, and during this meditation I truly experienced a sense of tranquility that till this day words can't explain. All I know is that I had touched an essences of myself that in my opinion is the truth, I share this with you because I think in order for use to truly realize our true potential we need to have some silence, and tranquility in order to find it.

    Hope this made sense hahaha!

For many people, it's not easy breaking away from the pack in order to live a dream; but you have to. True friends and those who support you, will still be there, others won't.

Ironically, sometimes those closest to you can know you better than you know yourself. Many of my friends and family members saw me as a business owner long before I did.
