The One Thing That Stands Between You and Success

Last year I decided to participate in " The Apple Cider Century" which is a 100-mile bike ride, an annual event in southern MI. I signed up with a riding friend and we made a agreement to train together, we rode at least 3 days per week all the while increasing our mileage. There were days when we were to train when I would have preferred to do something, anything, besides ride, but my "coach" encouraged me and in return I did the same on the days she didn't want to ride. We started riding 20-30 miles per day and progressed up to 80 miles in one day, with just 2 weeks left before the ride. At which time we knew we were ready so we decided on shorter rides for the duration and be rested up. The day of the ride we rode together, supported and encouraged each other and accomplished our objective.

The key ingredient here is ACCOUNTABILITY.

My point here is that without having a coach who had a vested interest in my success and vice versa, at some point during my training I would have found a reason to quit. My coach encouraged me when I'd rather take the easy way out, got me to stay on track and see my mission through to the end. In our lives as in training for my ride, we as humans tend to be easy on ourselves we let ourselves lose momentum. However, a "Success Coach" has a vested interest in your success. He/she will help you create a plan, get it implemented and make the needed adjustments along the way, but most importantly they will keep you accountable and headed toward your desired end.

If you're truly committed to your success, PM me and we will evaluate your goal and see how coaching can help you.

To Your Success,
Mike

    So exceedingly true.

This is sadly why so many people fail at IM.

They just give up.. People are so IMPATIENT.

Just look at the big dogs in business. Many of them have gone bankrupt countless times. But look where they are now. Extreme self-motivation and desire for something will make you take action. If you don't want something enough, you aren't going to work for it.

My cousin always says she WANTS to be a beautician.. she WANTS to own a business..
Does she hell. She just like the thought of it. If she really WANTED it she would start taking action and start moving on towards her goals.

I LOVE that your willing to coach people Mike. I wish you every success with it. Because sometimes it's exactly what people need.

I think the key there is motivation. Motivation plays important thing in your success. It is the driving force which help causes us to achieve goals. To some i know Top performers of an organization consistently provide high-quality work, maintain a high level of productivity and overcome obstacles or challenges because of the motivation they get from a certain person, from a coach, mentor or any significant person.

TOTALLY RIGHT LAURARUSSELL, MOTIVATION IS KEY TO SUCCESS. IF YOU SUFFERING FROM LACK OF MOTIVATION THEN YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON A VERY *BIG* POINT. WITH MOTIVATION YOU CAN OVERCOME EVERY SINGLE HURDLE YOU COME ACROSS IN YOU LIFE

Thanks for the response, Anthony its highly possible that your cousin does not have a good support team when it comes to her goal, which without action is only a dream or wish. Many of my clients have been paralyzed by fear. Fear of many things but failure and what others think seem to be the big ones and not necessarily in that order. It may be that your cousin just needs help taking the first couple of steps then she will will be off to the races. Next time she mentions it try to draw her out a little with questions such as "what steps are you taking toward this goal", "what do you feel is blocking you from achieving this", " do you believe this goal is honorable" and " how can I help".

I agree with you about having a personal coach is a very important ingredient to become successful onine. However, the cost for having a personal coach is SO EXPENSIVE especially when you are just starting out. I for one do not have the capital to invest in a personal coach.

Another thing is just having a personal coach does not guarantee that you will become successful. When I first started learning about Internet Marketing and making money online I was so overwhelmed with all the information I was reading and learning so I looked for a personal coach. This person asked me to pay him $3000 and he guaranteed me that I will be making $1000 a month by the 12th month.

I paid him the $3K and he helped me some (but not what I expected) needless to say things didn't work out for me and a year and a half later, I am still having a hard time making any money online.

I still believe in personal coaching, but I am a lot more skeptical now than I used to be. It is part of the learning curve and I am okay now with the money I spent. It is all part of my IM journey.

I am moving forward and keep on keeping on but like I said "personal coaching is SO EXPENSIVE" it is hard for those of us who do not have the resources available to pay for the one-on-one coaching.

A coach in a situation like the one you describe is great. Really great. But a partner in any company -even something as small as IM- might be something completely different.

They say "Marry the right person. This one decision will determine 90% of your success or misery". The same goes for your partner-coach in business I guess.

The only one thing that stands between me and success is time. I learn and work every day, so I think this is the main factor. As one person said you can take all money from good business man and throw him in to the forest; after few months he will be making money and managing new business. This is all about learning and implementing.

I totally agree with you. It's all about our wisdom and how we implement it. If we have true knowledge, then nothing can stand in our way to success.

    Mike,

I totally agree with you. Accountability is a good motivator. My sister and I do this for each other. We skype about 4 times a week and keep each other accountable for what we're going to do. Half the time I follow through is because I'll have to tell her one way or the other. If we didn't do that, I would definitely need to get a coach.

yep people just give up & you're spot on there. We all need to keep going but sometimes its very tough, I recommend everyone has some kind of mentor to turn to when it gets tough just to give you that little push to get you started again

The one thing that stands between all of use and success is ACTION. We know what we need to do but somehow we do not do it.
A coach is a good way to keep you accountable so that you stay on track. Someone who can hit you on the head when you start slipping back!

I loved reading all the comments on here. Lack of motivation was mentioned frequently here, but if we peel that, what's behind that motivation? It doesn't appear out of thin air or at least mine hasn't. It really involves personal reflection and trying to understanding why you love doing something or why it is personally convicting. Once you understand that WHY, you will be able to achieve relative success. Success is a state of mind. Here is an insightful quote written by Richard Bach in his book, Jonathan Livingston Seagull.
"You will begin to touch heaven, Jonathan, in the moment that you touch perfect speed. And that isn’t flying a thousand miles an hour, or a million, or flying at the speed of light. Because any number is a limit, and perfection doesn’t have limits. Perfect speed, my son, is being there."

I agree that coaching is important to help success. I found myself tend to search new way to success. I once felt I must be success by my own effort, because it will bring great satisfaction when I achieve success by my own power.

But now I realize it's like you try to open new pathway while out there is highway available for all people but you don't want to take it. But in the end, it will just make you tired because you will have to face unnecessary obstacles, which have been removed if you take the highway.

The problem is, coaching and mentor is not free

It's very hard to work without a coach telling you what to do sometimes you want to give up because no one encourages you. Good thing their are lots of words of wisdom that I can turn to in times I can't move on any longer. It encourages me and motivates me to keep working and finish what I've started.
