Many a time, we under-value what we already have and over-value what we don't have. By the time we have what we don't have, more often than not, it is less valuable that what we already have! Thus, do treasure what we already have!

Cheers!

Thanks Rich! Very true. "If I just get that hot tub, I'll be happy forever." 3 months with the hot tub, and it becomes just part of the background (plus maintenance problems probably LOL), and you're on to a new reason for not being content.

There's a line to be drawn by each of us somewhere between Tony Robbins's "Dream as big as you can", and the Buddha's "scale back your desires". We each must find our place.

Great Post, Thanks. It's amazing we spend the first 20 or so years of life having the "I have to have X" mentality drilled into our heads from every direction, then we spend the next 20 years living it, then one day we wake up and ask ourselves "why?" after all if we can't enjoy the ride why even get in the car?
    To your success,
    Mike

I always under-value what I do have, I cant help it. I want a better life for myself, and I believe I won't be satisfied until I am making money from my own business.

The key to having "a better life" starts with appreciating the life you already have, no matter how grim it presently appears.

If you are focused on what is lacking in your life, that inadvertently acts as a subconscious goal and your inner processes will keep you lacking (they are trying to be helpful).

Learning to appreciate the positive aspects of where you are now opens the way to move "forward" from where you are to where you want to be. Appreciation opens the door to more opportunities in your life to feel appreciative.

It seems counter-intuitive but, in financial matters, don't rue how little you have now but find ways to be grateful for what you do have, no matter how far it falls short of what you prefer.

This puts you on the same path as your financial dreams.

Feelings of regret and dissatisfaction put you on a different path and sabotage your progress. Acknowledge those feelings but don't invite them home and entertain them!

This is one problem that our world faces today. We never value what we have, until we lose it. And once we lose it, we can do anything to get it back.

I agree with you on this.. It's all in your head and it's funny how our mind works. We must all learn how to appreciate more of all the little things we've got!
