The Latest and Greatest Mind Technique

I've always been interested in learning new ways to train my brain to do what I want it to do. It seems as though each new mind technique available provides a faster, more advanced approach to programing the mind.

Previously, I've used NLP, Hypnosis, Visualization, and EFT. Do you know the latest and greatest mind technique available that's proven to have better results than the few I've used?

    Not necessarily better but something I've taken course of and practiced - and so can speak a bit about.
    It is russian based system developed by Norbekov. One of it's main exercises is willfully elevating your emotional energy to the higher levels and sustaining it there with the help of visualizations. It helped me a lot to get out of heavy down states, depressions and apathy. It is challenging at times depending on the level of currently experiencing "down" state - but it is actually strong weapon in self help arsenal.

    Another method developed by one of the modern enlightened masters, named Lester Levenson is aiming to release all non-loving feelings out of yourself. This is more subtle but very powerful technique as it allows person to cleanup lots of subconscious blocks without much intellectual activities. Lester Levenson died in 1994 but his system sparked tight following.
    Both of above I practiced and can say they are very efficient.

    NLP took me a while, still not great at it, but better than I was, and EFT was just a little to far out their for me at the moment, It made me look like I had Tourette's!

      Funny you should say that. I find EFT to be extremely effective. When I used to practice it regularly, I scheduled 3 sessions to practice my tapping techniques each day. The 2nd session was scheduled during lunch.

      Everyone at work laughed at me each day as I sat in my office banging my head to death. We had glass offices so it was difficult to hide. After a while, I just did a round or two during my trips to the restroom. But, yes, it does make you look like you have Touretes. How funny.

    Hi Christine,
    Yes, RT is being taught by Larry Crane, SM is by Haley Dwoskin. They both are late students of Lester and after his death evolved his teachings into businesses. They both offer free support lines. I personally talked to Larry over the phone and have to admit he is very dedicated person. Haley refused to be interviewed by me but I really like the style of his book - very gentle super detailed guidance - great for overly intellectual people.

    I practice and teach meditation, EFT and IST(Instant Self Transformation). From my own experience and feedback from my students they complement each other and speed up your progress.

    The meditation serves as a strong foundation of your growth and progress.

    EFT and IST help to eliminate physical and mental blocks.

      I've been a self-development junkie since the 1970s, when I started to meditate regularly.

      In the past few months I've been mixing meditation with the Silva Method and the Law of Attraction. It's been very powerful, and I'm grateful for that. I was feeling a little dry and unmotivated; it's brought the passion for expression back into my life.

      I don't think there's a "better" -- it depends on your own growth, and what you need at the time. An on-going meditation practice will make other practices more powerful, however. Try Zen, or any form of Buddhist meditation.

      For a Buddhist meditation practice which establishes a firm foundation and puts the other "trendy" practices into perspective, I recommend studying anything by Pema Chodron. I studied her "Noble Heart" meditation retreat on tape in 1998, and it changed my life -- Pema Chödrön - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

      Noble Heart cleared out a lot of emotional junk for me; but of course there's always more to deal with. :-)

    What results and new behaviors are you looking for?

    What type of hypnosis and nlp programs are you using?

    What were you doing on a daily basis that wasn't working for you?

    There really is no magic pill and most stuff out there is junk

    It normally takes 24 days or so until a behavior becomes a new habit.

    And Hypnosis is used as an anesthia, for getting people off drugs, smoking cigrettes and other cool stuff. Its a poweful tool that creates new pathways in your mind and it works.

    If its not working for you then its possible you're not doing something right.

    You can use brain entrianment, hypnosis audios (hypnotherapy, dream programing, paraliminals) and even Joe Vitale has a visual hypnosis video out designed to help create change.

    Anytime I want to install a new belief or behavior- I use one hypnosis program once or twice a day for 24 days.

    Any other way is not as effective.

      The mind/body technique that I've found to be very helpful is hypnosis. I have purchased hypnosis programs before and practiced them daily for 24 days or more. But, after I stopped the program, my habit came back.

      I'm looking for a technique that will allow me to retrain my behavior... quickly. Taking the time to practice something every single day for 20 minutes or so gets time consuming. Practicing hypnosis, meditating, LOF, exercise, working, etc. consumes my entire day. I'd love to reduce the time I spend retraining my behaviors and find something that will give me lasting results.

      Sorry MaskedMarketer but that simply isn't true.

      New beliefs can be installed in a persons mind in a less than 3 minutes, with a variety of techniques, some of which I've developed myself.

      Hypnotherapy, dream programing, paraliminals and even EFT are just afew of the techniques that are available to create rapid changes.

      Just my 2 cents.

        What programs did you purchase? The difference between getting lasting results and none at all, is contained within the program you are using.

        Obviously lots of other factors, but just curious what program it was.

        YES , it is true. I said it normally takes 24 days to change a behavior for it to become habit, and that is in fact true. Just because some people can install beliefs in less time does not mean it normally does not take 24 days.

        And just because it does normally take 24 days, doesn't mean it can't be done in less time. So why don't you mention these various techniques?

        You wanted to point out how I was wrong, yet offer no solutions for the OP that actually needs a techniques to help her in 3 mins to change.

        And I've tried some of these "quick" fix techniques you may be talking about and had no success with them. The lasting chnage lasts about as long as it takes to install it, for me at least.

          I understand your skepticism, however when I replied to your post I did so to point that there are alternative solutions.

          I didn't mention my techniques as I wasn't trying to use the discussion to promote my own products, but as you asked here's one:

            As it turns out, each one of us is different. And that means it would be impossible to get me to believe that one can remove thoughts buried deep in the Sub-Conscious. The sad truth is that I have given up a long time ago on trying, whether past experiences are negative or positive.

            More importantly, let me give you an example. I played football in high school. One day in the biggest game of the season, broke through the line, and ran 60 yards. I was headed for the goal line, and at about the 4 yard line the ball just popped out of my arms, for no reason I could honestly think of. Immediately turn around, and fell on it.

            It didn't stop there, I could hear my father screening in the crowd. "You Idiot". I was wide open, and no one was without ten yards of me, at the time. The statement is a private joke between my Dad, and I, when one of us do something stupid, we laughed about it later.

            Well, we won the game, but I didn't score the wining TD. That's the way it goes. There is not a day that goes by, that, for some reason it just pops up. I could be sitting in from of my computer working, and start thinking about that day. I could go on forever about past experiences good and bad, but I not going too, you get the point.

            And here's the kicker, I try to tone the thoughts down so that I can add new ones for long distance selling, because that is what we do. The fact is, sometimes I can, and sometimes I can't, for me it's that simple.

            In a nutshell, The days that I can't, engage in a little *Daydreaming* and maybe a nap can easy change my mood, and allow me to focus on the my present thoughts, but the past is still their just on the back burner for awhile.

            Also, the good news is sometimes things that we were taught to as a child, can work for us when we become adults. I was always taught that daydreaming was a waste of time.

            But it's a solution for me! And I use it all the time.

              Hello James:

              Be proud. Your Dad was addressing you, the football player. You, the man.

              You, the son, were obviously not used to him using the "Y.I." phrase. Be proud of your Dad for being such a good Dad.

              If you were the President, there would be times when he would call you "Mr. President" and other times when he would call you by name.

              You will always be his son, but, as an adult, you have other roles as well, the first of which was "football player" (just like the NFLers). Celebrate knowing when you crossed the line from boyhood to manhood in your father's eyes.

            I'm always willing to look at alternative solutions. And I understand why you wouldn't mention it, but if they work, it could benefit the OP and others.

            You could understand why im tired of hearing how I can change in 3 mins a day. It reminds me of "6 min. abs" and other type of bogus health diets out there. While results can and may be attained this way, its not always long lasting. And to me its more important about the actual result than how long it takes. the shorter the better, but not by sacraficing results.

              if you want better quality brain entrainment audios than binural beats- the isotonic brain wave entrainment i hear is better. Some of the high quality hypnosis sets out their use brainwave entrainment and i'd recommend a brainwave entrainment that also uses hypnosis. i use them all and they work. stay focused!

              In the world of personal growth the best techniques aren't usually the ones that are best known, these are usually the ones that have been marketed the most effectively.

    Self-Help approaches and "what works" vary greatly from person to person.
    What seems like nonsense for one - could be life changing for another.

    Once I walked into bookstore, picked a book, opened it randomly, read sentence and it literally changed my life bringing me so much new realization in one short paragraph.

    Millions of people probably would just skim over it with no impressions left to speak of. And this is perfect - everyone gets what he wants and needs.

      If you have a brain, are reading this, then its possible to influence you're mind with hypnosis and NLP.

      It won't work for everyone for many reasons, but a good hypnotist can influence a mind that doesn't want to be influenced.

      At the core, we are all the same. And a good hypnotist can influence one's mind. By the title of the thread it seems shes looking for a magic pill.

    Release technique would do - you don't "practice" it per se. You "live" it. As soon as "stuff" pops up in your feelings - you release it. This could be practiced in the mid of meetings, conversations, sudden events. No one one notices anything but perhaps more "light" coming from you.
    Takes zero time.

      A wonderful meditation technique is to carry a 4lb laptop onto a packed Tokyo commuter train - the ones where the guys with the white gloves ensure you and your posterior makes it into the carriage before the doors close.

      I'm semi-serious. If you can chill in that environment you can do it anywhere :-)

      Hey Christie - if you're into EFT, just imagine doing it. Gary Craig talks a lot about that if I recall correctly. And you won't be bothered by the office gawkers ;-)

    I am realizing every thought has a significance but to discard those that aren't profitable.

    One technique I learned that worked for me is to realize that sometimes the sub-conscious mind will throw thoughts up that aren't productive.

    You must learn to manage your thoughts or they will manage you.

    It is our thoughts that can lead to our decisions and our decisions that lead us to action.

    So thought-life is very important.

    If for example, in our mind, there is a receptionist at the desk of our
    "mental hotel."

    Every good, pure, honest, true, wholesome, productive thought is on
    the list of registered guests.

    Those thoughts that try to impose from our sub-conscious into our consciousness, we can say, "If you are not good, pure, honest, true, virtuous, of good report, praiseworthy, something to be thankful for or otherwise productive, then you may not lodge here. Buh-bye. Flee now, Go!"

    And every thought that does fit the criteria can be dwelled upon to build upon good thoughts that lend toward plenteousness and good things.

    That is one method of training your thought life.

    For those bible buffs warriors and scholars warriors, you may find it interesting that method is the prescription given by the apostle Paul
    for disciplining the thought-lives of our minds in the scriptures in combination with 2 corinthians 10:5 which says to cast down every imagination that doesn't serve a purpose.

      I completely understand where you are coming from. For some... the mental fight between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind is what needs to be resolved.

      My subconscious mind used to dominate my conscious mind with negative thoughts. I've used mind techniques for years to quite the subconscious and to retrain it to think more positively, in abundance.

        Hi,

        To my understanding, it is often the conscious mind that is the problem. Techniques such as visualization, meditation and hypnosis seeks to either bypass the conscious mind or quieten it.
        The conscious mind is a persistent noise that is often judgmental. And being judgmental, either judging positively or negatively, is disempowering. Also, the often negative critic 'at the back of our mind' is actually the conscious mind of feeding us our habitual thought pattern.

        It is through the unconscious that we gain access to the universal/collective/higher mind. The manifestation from the realm of the virtual to the realm of the physical is through the unconscious mind.

        I'm currently starting out on meditation. It is a momentous task to quieten the mind so far.

    dont know if this is an immediate CHANGE..but my outlook is different.


    recently reading the tenth insight by the clestine prophecy author...and while it has a lot of what I believe to be 'fiction' the theme is valid...

    personallly , I have had a few problems with the God thing..although no one can deny the existence of a higher bieng or level...we are just too 'spiritual' by creation...
    the point that made a difference to me was that heaven. etc are dependent on US for their further advancement as well as us being dependent on them for guidance.

    but this is not guidance...like 'turn left, here' but guidance by making us aware or our original source and the potential that we all hold within ourselves. The FEAR keeps us isolated and dependent upon material results..when these material results fail, our FEAR increases, further isolating us from the source.

    so , let they say ..you gotta 'give it up '...literraly and remember that we are all spiritual beings living in different degrees of fear ...fear of accepting our spiritual birth right. for ME, it means I have a higher goal, a higher source guiding me in love , and a REASON to compete with the FEAR that we all face.

    ALL aberrations of the spirit, to me, are based in fear ...not fear of failing, but FEAR of accepting teh powers that have been given to us, which we seldom use.

    I agree with what Memberwing said. It is so personal and individual, that the same thing isn't going to work with everyone. Whatever resonates with you at the time is probably the thing to try.

    I've found that sometimes I find something that makes an enormous impact on me, then after a while it doesn't work anymore. When that happens, I move on and try something else or a marriage of two techniques.

      This is not veruy specific but you can actually focus your mind with repetition. Mantras have been used by people for centuries and the effect that it has on the mind can be amazing.

      Simply having short sentences and repeating them in your mind when you have a spare minute can actually have huge benefits on you.

      People have died, joined cults, gone to war, betrayed their countries - all due to the effect of repetition, and what it can do to your self belief.

      It can be used in negative ways but it also works when used for positive purposes.

    Meditation, I personally feel when done properly leads to enrichment of the mental faculties. It provides the intellectual sharpness apart from the best awareness levels.         Mate, using eft will not mess with CT, but I have heard there is nothing powerful than a base reframing. Although I too have the same issue as you.

        I also use EFT and sedona for blockers right now, till the time I master base reframing and subpersonality negotiation.

    I've used timeline therapy as taught by tad james this helped me by giving me a way to put things into perspective easily, i used it to drop my addiction to pain killers with no side effects or cravings within a hr, this is so powerful.

    NLP i learnt and used mainly for performance and sales reasons, though finding anyone who can decently teach it is a issue. bandler, tad james i can recommended.

    Hypnosis i used for pain control since nlp just wasn't working it helped but the pain was destroying my life. For this i had a private session for a hypnotist who specialises in hypnosis for dental and surgical clients, now i can turn off pain completely however while its off there are side effects i'm a lot stronger than normal etc.

    Tai chi i use for health and maintain energy levels, since my pain is unrelenting until i learnt pain control i had real issues with being tired all the time, i used short form. Once a week was enough to maintain my sanity and relationships with those close to me.

    EFT i play with and can recommend the training videos by gary craig. This hasnt given my anything i already couldn't do however it can be faster than other techniques i learnt previously.

    I gained various things from zen, clarity of thought, deeper awareness of my emotions and of those around me (which amazes me since nlp had already increased my sensory acuity), how to breathe properly, walking meditation, and a beginners mind. Out of everything this has made the biggest impact on my life.

    - Anything by Thich Nhat Hanh, Pema Chodron
    - The secret language of feelings by cal banyan
    - Psycho Cybernetics

    The best thing i can suggest to anyone is ignore the fads and gurus, put your ego and skepticism aside and get quality instruction on more time proven methods until you find something that resonates with you.

      Nope, I didn't miss the safe hours part. I read someone got a black spot in his vision after using this technique for long time.

      Today, I myself tried the sun gaze during safe hour (just 5 min after the sunrise to be precise) and I noticed a purple kind of spot whenever I blinked my eyes for at least 5 min, so that means if one goes to a stretch where he gazes sun for 45 min it is possible to damage the vision. Just my own observation.

    I like brain entrainment techniques. They've worked well for me.

    I tried the Sedona Method and got noting out of it. Maybe it's just me. Anyone out there really benefiting from SM?

    I don't know what EFT is but from people saying it makes them look like they have Tourette's it sounds king of weird.

    I have one question regarding cybernetics. The book is telling me to write my goal/perfect vision about my future goal. Does this work with only one goal at a time? Like, right now, i want to focus on 3 things. Like launching seo product, software and learning guitar. Can i write down three goals and than work towards all 3 of them?

    I am a practising therapist using NLP as part of Physical Therapy

    I use NLP and binaural beats combined with meditation myself. I constantly spin the states I want to be in and anchor them with "icons" - a different icon for each state and I layer them over each other

    I am also a powerful martial artist with over 35 years involvement so combining mental states, linguistics, breathing, posture I am able to generate powerful healing states within my clients

    ^^^ Knebh : cybernetic is ultra-genius! Been using it and it works like wonder. It's much better than most law of attraction hocus-pocus out there.

    ^^^ Ankur Sharma : depends! Personally 1 goals at a one writing session is better if you're easily distracted. I've used this to improve singing, blogging, thesis research, and I focus 1 goal per week. I'm easily distracted, and this works for me.

    Personally I use binaural beats, particularly tetha and epsilon wave. Spent my time with tetha, it's good to eliminate stress and writer's block. But that's just me.

      Love this thread. This is my first week in Stuart's Super Achiever Coaching Program. It's complex but he is a genius. The method is absolutely brilliant. I now understand why it works so powerfully.

      He personally coaches you and the material and learning tools are substantial. And I've done many programs and manifestationg tools with success. But this is going to blow the lid on EVERYTHING I've done. I can tell already.

    It's the not the latest because this has been around for a while. As for the Greatest, it so far, hands down, has been the best program my family has used to take control of our mind and thoughts and therefore, our lives.

    Did all the courses from Psychocybernetics, Silva Method, NLP, EFT and others. Wish I knew this first although I credit my journey to finally lead our family to something that works.
