How White Noise Supercharges My Productivity

I recently blogged about how white noise has helped me rid procrastination and lack of focus from my working day.

I've had a lot of feedback from other entrepreneurs who've claimed the same positive results. So I thought I'd share it as a quick tip for you guys...

You can read the post here: How White Noise Supercharges My Productivity | Finch Blogs

The tool in question (SimplyNoise.com) is 100% free with no catches and no opt-ins. Just go to the website, turn up the volume and melt away the distractions all around you.

If you're a skeptic at first, just go ahead and try it. Not every "explosive secret to riches" has to cost $17.95. This can make a real difference to your ability to get tasks done. And it's free.

Enjoy.

Seems to be a great self-help tool. Is this like binaural beats?

Yep, very similar. I've been experimenting with binaural beats for a while too.

It's an interesting area to study. I think most people settle for performing tasks at a fraction of their true capability.

My computer already sounds like an aircraft about to take off... I need a new fan! But I think if it did not make a noise, I would need something in its place.

You may be slightly ADD or ADHD, as am I.

I understand that an attention-enhanced brain functions better with some background noise. I know that my productivity goes way up when I'm at a local shop with WiFi than at home.

I'm going to test-drive SimplyNoise.com. Thanks for the tip.

Oh, I love SimplyNoise. If I'm not falling asleep with soft music or binaural beats, I like setting SN to low or medium oscillating brown noise, because it sounds like waves.

I have awful insomnia, and it's very soothing.

For some reason I just cannot operate with noise, but who knows I may try it out some day it does not hurt. Thanks for the info

The interface is simple and lovely.

      Catchy and cool.

I saved it to my favorites immediately. Very relaxing.

I didn't know until now that white noise could be used to stimulate focus.

Cool. I'll give it a try. Thanks Finch

Binaural beats reportedly influence the brain in more subtle ways through the entrainment of brainwaves and have been claimed to reduce anxiety[9] and provide other health benefits such as control over pain -- taken from Wikipedia - Binaural beats - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I think the power of binaural beats is dependent on the individual. But, from my experience, I've noticed positive effects. They work for me and that's all I care about.

I've written a second post going in to a little more detail about what binaural beats can do for you...

    Thanks Finch.

      From Wikipedia again:

White noise is a random signal (or process) with a flat power spectral density. In other words, the signal contains equal power within a fixed bandwidth at any center frequency. White noise draws its name from white light in which the power spectral density of the light is distributed over the visible band in such a way that the eye's three color receptors (cones) are approximately equally stimulated.

In other words.. our brains are full of signals/frequencies/wavelengths. White noise has a signal/frequency/wavelength which stimulates our brain in a certain way.

I will admit that one of my BIGGEST flaws is not being able to focus on one single task - especially at the computer. I don't blame it on lazy, just hard to stay focused.

I read this about an hour ago and have been listening (and working!) to simplynoise.com and must say that I'm surprised - seems to be working! Thanks for the awesome tip
