What's Your Intermet Marketing Breaking Point?

I've found like anything else it pays to persist in most things. But it can also pay to cut your losses, and that sometimes includes an Internet Marketing project. So my question to the Warriors today is ...

Do you give yourself ...
1. A Time Limit?
2. A Set Amount of money?
3. A Number of Misses or Setbacks? ...
4. Or Other Criteria? ...

Before you decide to change direction, adjust or quit on an Internet Marketing project or plan.

What's been your reactions in the past when it comes to Internet Marketing projects you tried.

I've done all 4, but I tend to go with number 2.

What say you?

For me, its a combination of 1 and 2.

Usually at the outset of any project, I assign a time line with certain milestones, these vary dependent on what the specfic project is. I know clearly what the expected outcome of each is and what should happen if they are met.

Coupled with that I would have a strict budget assigned to each project, costings for each element. I then know how much my initial spend is going to be, regardless of what medium/traffic source I am using and can weigh that up against expected return

All that said, sometimes the best laid plans etc, but those would be my general criteria

Number 4 - The realization that the path you are on is incorrect.

If the path you are on is correct then no set amount of time or money should deter you. That is, unless you completely run out of one or the other.
