  I can't remember either to be honest, but I do remember it was a very steep (and somewhat expensive) learning curve. I think it was a DVD I had with a speech by Michael Fortin, he made it look so easy, and I went from there.

I started my IM career when my offline business fizzled. I was already online because I built a website for that business, and got involved with online marketing. I stay in it because ecommerce is growing and here to stay, and learning the technical side of it is another notch under my belt.

Hey Marann, thank you so much for your great sharing! Sorry about your offline business fizzled. But it's truly impressive that you keep yourself going with your IM career and didn't back off. I bet it's not an easy path up until now but it's worthwhile in the coming days for sure!!

No, "The Rich Jerk" was a very popular program that came out a while ago and was advertised EVERYWHERE at the time. Not the greatest IM product in history, but definitely one of the best promoted IM manual to ever come out... I think the actual Rich Jerk was a member of this forum, but I never got the chance to meet him around the boards...

I did googled "The Rich Jerk" last night.

And yeah! As you said, it's one of the best promoted IM manual. He really has his own unique way to work his way out in the IM world. Lol..if he's still here in WF, I would like to know how he started his IM journey too.

Thanks for all the sharing warriors! Appreciate it much! It's amusing to see everyone start their IM journey in a different way. Some people start to walk in their IM journey easily, some people find it so hard to start their IM journey. Now for those people who still don't know how or where to start their IM journey, there is no other place better than here. You can find various sharing here from warriors and discover how they start their IM journey and they are so persistent in it! Maybe it can help giving you some idea on how you can start your IM journey too!

I started my IM journey almost two years ago. I remember the economy was getting really bad and my job was very unstable so I started to look for another job but no one was hiring. I kept hearing about people making a living online while I was doing some job search. I started reading more and more about internet marketing, affiliate marketing, adsense, clickbank, amazon, etc. Everything was very interesting so I started buying various courses, tools, private coaching sessions and so on and so forth. It has been quite a journey and I have enjoyed the ups and downs of it.

I am still working my 9-5 job. The economy has not improved very much at all in my neck of the woods. But because I have developed some great online skills, I do not feel so fearful about losing my job anymore. I look forward to the day when I can work my online business full time which I hope is not too far in the distant future.

I started my IM journey about a year ago why? because (I know i can be more) i jumped in to the internet full time i quit my job and started to learn every thing online went thought so many programs now its going great making some money online i know what works and whats a lot of crap hope i can meet my goal by earning 15000 a Mo by the end of this year

hey JPSimplySites, glad that you make your way through the hard time! Attending courses is a good way to keep yourself improve. But of course you have to take action to see the results. Or else you hardly can find momentum to keep you move on.

You have build up your online skills my friend even if you lose your 9-5 job, you won't find it depressing I guess! haha..you have a strong backup plan there to keep you survive!

Hi there Charles, Im truly glad to hear that you have great results in your online business! And I admire you have guts to quit your job and start doing internet full time. To quit a full time job and focus on IM isn't easy for me. But the fact is, today Im on the same boat with you! haha..I quit to work for my dad with his business and start to work online full time together with my brother! Well, it's a tough road I must say, but it's worthwhile in the coming day!! I am sure about this!

I've been talking about how I'm a noob but the truth is I've got about 150 eBay sales under my belt. I've also got other offline ventures but nothing has ever progressed beyond dabbling.

Two things gave me the kick to get serious. I work as a manger for an agriculture company. We happened to be in an area where the government decided to do some controlled flooding. So long crop, I hardly knew you.

A week after the controlled flood began, my wife and I discovered that she was pregnant with our first child!

Provider instinct went into overdrive and here I am.

So far, I've just been doing gigs on Fiverr. I'm biding my time a little bit, deciding what to do next. I like services because it teaches me a lot and pays upfront. Eventually, I'll be doing products.

And also congrats on your success in the online world. I prefer doing product creation or affiliate. Provide services is not a bad choice though, it's like how you said, they pay upfront. Upfront payment can make you a lot more easier when you are having tight financial problem although the pay is not as much as product creation or affiliate. But that amount of money sure helps a lot in some ways!

the first thing i stumbled across when researching IM was 'maverick money makers'. it seemed expensive so i didnt sign up, and im so glad because i quickly found LOADS of places for free where you can find the same information. in the early days you're so vulnerable and could part with soooo much cash, its scary.
