      Some Good Tips
      Here's some of mine

      1) Drink around 8 glasses of water per day
      2) eat smaller meals more often, instead of eating 3 big meals change this to 5 smaller meals.
      3) right down your goals, start with goals that are easily attainable. For example I'm going to lose ten pounds in january. Write down a plan and stick to it. Bodybuilding.com is a hive of imformation on getting fit.
      4) allow yourself at least one treat per week, by doing this you are more likely to stick to your diet and exercise program.
      5) don't crash diet, take it slowly your aim should be to lose around 2 to 3 pounds per week.
      6) Don't expect overnight results set yourself a 3 to 6 month plan depending on how much weight you want to lose.

        Hi Keith

        Thanks for these tips.
Interesting to see the 8 glasses of water there. I've tried many well known diet systems and the most successful for me was Herbalife and Lighterlife.
On both occasions I lost over 30lb, however I went back to my old ways and put even more back on.

The one common denominator of weight loss is the amount of water you drink, Lighterlife encourages up to 4 litres over a 24hr period and man does the weight shift extra quick at that level.

I wouldn't advise either programs as the weight just goes back on when you bring in real food and stop drinking water so I've decided to try eating sensibly and upping my water intake again.

        What do you think

Thanks for those... I think they're all great, even though not watching any TV at all I think it's kind of hard... I love watching CNN...

Also, having peace of mind is fundamental. If we don't have this, I think everything else doesn't work as well.

      My little two cents.

My tip: Find something you love to do and figure out how to make a living at it. I love IM so.....

I see WAY to many people that are miserable because of their employment situation and it's sad to watch.

I had set a 30 days challenge for myself to have a healthier body which include removing process starch from my diet, morning juice feasting and also exercising for 6 days a week.

I did a 16 weeks challenge too, which include me exercising or 6 days a week consistently and alternating between cardio and resistance training. Here are my results.

My weight before my 16 weeks challenge -> 160.6 lbs
My weight before my 30 days challenge -> 152.9 lbs
My weight at the end of my 30 days challenge -> 147.4 lbs

Amount of pull ups I am able to do before my 16 weeks challenge - 3
Amount of pull ups I am able to do before my 30 days challenge - 8
Amount of pull ups I am able to do after both challenges - 11

I wrote an article "10 Tips To Help You Lose Weight Healthily" during my challenges. You can read it for more info.

If you are interested on my updates on my challenges, you can find it here.

I like the challenges idea. My new years resolution was to work out more often, and i think that Vince's measuring values thing is a good way to know you're making progress. I think the best tip i could offer is don't get down on yourself too much, just enough to keep you going. If you get too down on yourself you'll want to quit.

Two great tips for healthy living that are often taken for granted.

    1) Have a definite purpose in life. Research indicates that many people who retire from their jobs die soon thereafter. It could be because they've lost their sights to achieving something worthwhile.

    2) Laugh. Laugh. Laugh. Laughter is the best medicine. And it's true.

Living healthy isn't that complicated, it's just a different set of habits.
The number one habit to give up is packaged foods. That in itself will do away with a number of disease inducing chemicals, fats, sodium and sugars. Once you start eating fresh, you'll wonder why you ever ate the fake packaged stuff. Fresh is sooo much better.
And consciouscat is so right, I have a working class dog that requires 2 miles a day. It sure is a forced exercise program!
