The Walmart Redemption - A Warrior Success Story Of My Escape From A Supermarket Prison!

Hey Warriors,

Thought it was about time I gave back to this forum, as it has given me so much unbelievable value, tips and support through what can only be described as the toughest years of my life!

One of my favorite movies of all time has got to be "The Shawshank Redemption"

Strangely my own personal story of the last year or so has a remarkably similar theme, of some serious suffering, undeserved torture and then an escape from it all that most people who are not privy to the world of internet marketing would probably think of as pretty spectacular.

If ya interested, please keep reading, there are definitely a few golden nuggets of information I wanted to share that I have picked up a long the way.

In early 2008 I was stuck in a job I really hated, swamped in debt, standing on my feet for 9 hours a day, finishing at 12am most nights.

I was a pharmacist working night shifts in a very busy branch of ASDA WALMART (one of the largest supermarket stores in the UK) It made me sick, very very sick.
I suffered from a number of G.I problems probably due to a lot of stress and too much nightlife trying to drink away my sorrows and I was eventually diagnosed as ulcerative colitis. This is one of the most debilitation and embarrassing diseases you can get.

I remember the day when I thought I had enough.

It was my judgment day.

Do I end it all now? Or is this the beginning of a new me?

Luckily I had some very good friends at the time that gave me a lot of support and fortunately I chose the positive path and immersed myself in the world of personal development.

In my university day things were very different, I found I had a natural talent for music production and promotion and in a few short years formed a band and ran one of the largest dance music events in the south of England for 3 years. We had 2000+ people attend every month with a turnover of £50,000+ a month. I was only 19 when it all began and I some how had blagged my way into university to do Pharmacy (having failed my A-levels once already) I managed to juggle the two and as long as I studied and didn't fail the degree my parents were happy.

I was just about to finish my degree and was getting very excited at the prospect of running my music business full time.

However things did not go according to plan.

There was a major shooting incident at another promoter's event at the venue I held my events at. This forced the club to shut down.

I was in the middle of my finals and the only way I could salvage my event was to move to another venue, which was impossible to manage unless I quit my finals.

5 years of studying and the fear of the wrath of my parents meant that I chose to finish my exams instead. This did not go down too well with my team who needed me big time.

When I finally finished it was too late to salvage the event. I lost practically everything I had built up over night. I was then plunged in to a soul-destroying career that became one of the deepest darkest most depressing times of my life

I then realised all that time at university studying for a pharmacy degree was just studying to get myself into a job.

A job or J.O.B just stands for "just over broke"

Whether you like it or not, corporations have a vested interest in the education system and want to turn you into an employee on a salary that keeps you in a financial prison for your whole life so you are always dependent on them.

A job is what I had to get out of if I was to stay sane and get my health back.

The job security these days is very questionable, but you can make it more secure by learning about the Internet as you will later find out from my story.

A quote I heard from the amazing speaker Jim Rohn is that in order to become really successful

"You must first work harder on yourself than you work on your job".

He also used to always say, "Success leaves clues" I had been going blind into business and because I got lucky very early, I thought I knew everything when I clearly did not.

So I went out to find mentors who were already successful doing what I wanted to do so I could learn how to do the same. I always had a passion for computers and the Internet.

You may hear a lot of talk about list building being vital to success on the Internet, I was building big email lists way back in the Internet's infancy to fill my events.

So when I came across this book called The Four Hour Work Week, I was completely hooked!

The Four Hour Work Week is what directly led me to the Warrior Forum which I can thankfully say help save my life.

I started to consume internet marketing information like a complete mad man (as a lot of us warriors start to do when we get the bug!)

Due to contracting my illness I also had a new found passion for health and wellness. I went to many seminars, read and studied hundreds of books and courses on Ayurveda, nutrition, exercise and yoga. I also studied and went to many courses on Internet marketing, as I wanted to use the Internet as my vehicle for my business.

I started applying my knowledge in the pharmacies I worked and had some amazing results with my patients. Many felt much better with my natural therapies and some even came off their drugs eventually.

I was then picked up by the company I was working for, one of the biggest supermarket chain in the UK, ASDA WALMART and offered the opportunity to work with them on their website as their health and wellness online marketing expert.

This happened as a result of successfully pitching to their CEO and a very famous entrepreneur in the UK called Peter Jones from the UK T.V show Dragon's Den in an in house entrepreneurs competition they were running.

I would still be an employee but I knew the power of personal branding and also having my information accessible to the masses would not only help 10's of 1000's of people, but it would be give me some invaluable social proof!

Plus I got to be mentored by someone who turned his first company in to a multimillion pound business!

However when I got to their head office I started to wonder why the hell I was up here helping a big corporation with their online business, when I could quite easily be helping myself!

The funny thing was that due to giving so much free extra value to my employers, I became one of the few employees who was allowed full access to the internet, no restrictions.

One of the great lines from the Shawshank Redemption goes...

"Its amazing what you can achieve through mail"

As I had full internet access and quite a bit of spare time in the head office, I used this opportunity to meet some of Walmart's affiliate marketers, who were responsible for 60% of their $503 Million dollars annual online sales.

The information I learned from them, including the Warrior forum, led me to the conclusion, the money really is in building lists of loyal fans who will quite literally get you paid for life...

Thats when I started to use "email" to get me out of this corporate prison.

So I decided to test out my knowledge by starting my own in some different niches whilst working part time with them. I still made music for fun in my spare time and being a major advocate of meditation and its ability to help you to relax and relieve stress, my music style changed too.

My journey through learning the ropes in Internet Marketing was not so smooth though. I fell for the silly get rich quick schemes, courses telling you how you can get rich just by sticking up a website and all that usual rubbish.

I soon found the only way to make serious money online was to provide a high value product or service in a high demand market where you continuously build strong relationships with your customers.

I then discovered the world of niche marketing and be able to make money by spreading your passion with the use of blogs and membership sites.

I found someone on YouTube called James Portocarrero who was making some amazing meditation videos and asked him if he wanted to do some videos to my music.

Not before long I had set up a website with him, selling our music videos and meditations as a membership site.

It has since grown into one of the fastest growing new age websites online.

James is only 23, didnt have a clue about making money online until he met me, and now has never had to work a day in his life in a boring job thanks to the Internet and my coaching! (Lucky git!)

I then set up other niche sites to promote my music and sound therapy.

The best thing about it is that it takes hardly any time to run, way less than if you were in a job, and I still get a nice income every month. It also means I have been able to niche my passion for music in a way that it actually helps a lot of people too.

My health was getting better as I was doing more of what I loved and my passion for helping others was growing more and more each day.

One thing I realized was that Internet marketing knowledge and experience is in extremely high demand.

This has allowed me to consult with numerous other companies from Yoga schools to dentists and start up companies.

I quit my day job for good about 6 months ago, but my last day at work in the pharmacy in a day J.O.B was very memorable....

Above the pharmacy is a Mcdonalds and the main sewage runs just above the ceiling. There had been a few problems with their drainage however and some serious pressure had built up around a stuck sewer pipe.

Suddenly after a couple of hours being at work, I heard a rumbling overhead...

A really loud shudder occurred and like a roaring thunder, the pipe burst and started gushing masses of raw sewage all over us working in the pharmacy.

It was raining sewage!! My eyes and nose were both burning like crazy from the stench of pure rotting Mcdonalds sh$$t!!

If you have not watched the Shawshank Redemption, I hate to spoil the ending of a great film, but the last scene involves the lead character escaping the prison, whilst crawling through 8 miles of sewage.

Thats exactly what it felt like, but in my case it was a room full of Mcdonalds undigested fast food butt waste!!

But thankfully, I got out to the other side a FREEMAN! It was also a pleasure knowing that my extremely annoying boss, had to clear up all that crap when I had gone!

I now have 3 niche businesses on clickbank, a store for my special brand of meditations and my first album coming out on major release. I am fully cured of my colitis too thank god.

But I have to say I owe a lot of this to the amazing warriors and people I have met through this forum!

SO A BIG THANK YOU!!

As a way to give back I am letting everyone download a special meditation guide and some music...
