To my fellow newbs and anyone else

First let me say Procrastination is a killer, its been nearly a week since Iv'e done anything but I had caught a case of procrastination and got rewarded by dropping my phone and breaking the screen! Ha! So last night I was on ebay scouring reluctantly for a new phone..all the time mad at myself thinking(this would of never happened if I would have just been working)

But anyway I got to work today and finished up my FIRST ARTICLE, It really is all about doing Just Seek and you will find, for anyone struggling out there this is very doable and real. I know I haven't made any money yet but just about two or so weeks ago I didn't even know what niche to pick, how to do keyword research or anything like that, let alone how to write and article. The more I do though the clearer everything becomes and I find that I am having fun learning but way more fun actually doing after watching from the sidelines for 3years. Finally the Vail that made it look so "Magical" and "Mystifying" is gone I guess I have all those gimmicky and hype programs that promise money over night.

But it finally just feels awesome I can see myself doing this, as a matter fact I DO see myself doing this, and I like to personally thank Everyone on this forum who took the time to share some wisdom, advice, knowledge, or just to say what's up.

And lastly to all my fellow newcomers.(I hate the word newbie lol) Keep Pushing you can do it.

Lol yea i really was but it was all a result of me not doing anything, Doing something is so critical, as simple and as obvious that sounds, i can't remember all the times when i have literally bullsh*tted the entire day away and put something off "till tomorrow" I just wish I would have gotten started sooner!

Just try to break down task's into workable chunks. I get overwhelmed when i think about all the things i have to get done. But if you focus on one thing, one task at a time, you'll be more thouroght and effient. Compared to jumping around from one thing to the next.

I loved what you said I might even take your quote and pin it on my board in front of me where I can see it.

"The more I DO the clearer everything becomes" stvbarb89

Whenever I feel overwhelmed I will see this quote and remember to start taking small positive actions and that will help me develop momentum that will help me to move to the next step.

    Thanks a lot

You learn more by doing, procrastination can kill your dreams, you end up with a huge pile of pending work which could not have been if you had been doing a little each day, this only creates FEAR and the question how will I do it? but just keep at it and do something useful to your site each day.

I admit procrastination is one of my vices but getting better at combating it more and more. I would not have gotten as much done as I have, even a year ago. Overcoming procrastination takes baby steps. If you try too hard and try overcoming it too fast it could cause you to retreat. So make promises to yourself that you will finish one project today.. whether it is cleaning the house or doing your marketing. And the more comfortable you are, or rather the more you are pushed out of your comfort zone, challenge yourself more with overcoming it That is what I am doing and it is working well.

I'm a fellow Noob. I found a great book on Google Docs called "Self Discipline in Ten Days" by Theodore Bryant. It gives real practical tools to get you over the procrastination hurdle. It actually made me get my blog started, charting my journey and inspired the product I'm working on. Glad you're getting things done.

Procrastination is one of my favourite topics when I do speaking events. Maybe because everyone recognizes this as a universal issue that we have all come up against.

I always like to think that one of the most effective ways to overcome procrastination is to get in with the right people who can help you get motivated and keep you accountable.

I shot an episode of my Motivational WebTV series on overcoming procrastination for those who would like to see a video version of this possible solution.

Thanks for the video, Clint. Ironically, I was procrastinating when I watched it...but it was certainly a valuable, valid message and worth heeding. I have just taken action to effect that change!

lol Me too. I'm procrastinating just by reading this thread (which is a great one, by the way) instead of buckling down to work.

While I was watching the Napoleon Hill youtube video which somebody posted the link in this thread, I was distracted by Jack Canfield's Planning Your Day video. So I checked it out and it basically says, plan your day the night before. How simple is that! It is not enough to have just a list of tasks, but you have to schedule when you will do each task for the day. So when you sleep, your subconscious mind will start working on how you can achieve those tasks. Its worth a try to beat this procrastination habit.
