Where I feel like not....Where do I get the motivation?

9 replies
When I started blogging, I wanted to put up a blog everyday. I was successful the first few days. But as time went by, it got harder and harder to be maintain that level of consistency. I stay even a week now without posting and I feel so guilty. I feel like I do a lot of injustice to my blog readers. I don't even know them. I can go on and on but let me stop to ask;
Does it happen to you that sometimes you feel like not writing, or find yourself tied up with other stuff that prevent you from writing. If so, how do you get the motivation to get back on the desk and write?

    You don't need motivation - you need persistence. Persistence is what keeps you going when motivation fails. Think about it. If you're motivated you don't need persistence.

    Unfortunately, persistence is very hard to come by - I know - I don't have any!

    I'm working on developing it - but I'm having trouble sticking with it
    Does anyone have any recommendations in this area?

    I've had the same issue. It has helped me when I write on paper what needs to be done everyday. At the end of the day I create a new sheet and keep writing what must be done the next day.

    To me there is a "to do list" and a "must do list". Since you can get carried away while doing other things it will slip away as not being as important.

    Also, tell yourself that this task is very important for the long-term of your business and that you need to do it. Have you tried to just get it out of the way as the first thing you take action on everyday?

    Happens to me a lot to be honest... sometimes im in mega writing mode and do 10k words in a day, other times I go a week and do very little solid writing... The best way I find to get re-motivated is to surround yourself with positive, motivated people. Join a shared office, go to local marketing meets... youll soon meet people in the same situation to share stories with and others who have been through it and achieved great successes.

    Well, first off, you can get motivated here ...

    But, with regard to your problem, I personally have no difficulty whatsoever writing a blog post of around 1K words once I get the idea. For me the difficulty is not what to say, but what to write about.

    So, I would suggest that you start a few different 'series' posts and when you get stuck, return to one of those and resolve to post the next one in the series. It works for me. I have about 3 or 4 series that I return to whenever I cannot think about what to write.

    One last thing: it's a habit. Work at it until you do it, come hell or high water, every day.

    Will

    I agree with the good habits. It takes practice and time to get use to writing and focus on your blog over time. Write down your motivation, goals and schedule your blog post each week and try to keep up. Good luck buddy

    There are times that I feel that I don't have the interest to write something. Instances that I'm physically tired from a day's work at the office; I can't extract something from my mind to write an essay or article.
    I just think of my dreams and my plans, if I don't have the drive to continue writing articles/essays, how can I reach that dream. From then on, I usually think of that dream to motivate my mind to keep on going, for I have a goal to attain. I cannot grab my dream if I would just sit down and do nothing.
