Drinking and other realities

Is there anyone here straight edge? Because when i drink i feel like i'm in a different world and the drinkers around me are clueless of the world..i'm a deep thinker..and you could say i'm lost..tonight i went to a event party and i'm drunk somewhat..and i feel like whats the purpose in life and where all are the smart thinkers and people who been through alot but still changed there life for the better. The only people i meet like that are on forums..can't find them at a bar or outside scene..

Sounds like you need to hit up a library. You won't find a lot of "thinkers" at the bar.

I consider myself straight edge. I rarely drink, and have only ever gotten drunk once. I don't do drugs, smoke or any other mind-altering stuff.

Now, maybe this makes me 'boring' or a 'loser' in some people's eyes, but it's what YOU think that counts. I love being in control of myself, and I have PLENTY of fun without having to loosen up by consuming gallons of alcohol. Im extremely relaxed and easy going anyway, which is half the reason most people drink in the first place!

If this post is because you're worried or feel part of a minority, honestly mate, don't worry. It's not BAD or GOOD, it's just YOU and anyone saying otherwise needs to take a long hard look at themself, if they feel you HAVE to drink to have a good time.

    Take care pal,

I'm quite similar to Ben, except I don't drink at all and never have or will.

The same goes for smoking and drugs, of course.

Drinking once in a while is alright, as long as it does not control you afterwards.

    Well said CharismaticMannequin.

Miraclem, if you need an escape try getting into meditation. It can give some far out there experiences and is far healthier than drinking, and aids thinking rather than hindering it.
