Are You A Peak Performer?

I like listening to motivational podcasts, and one of my favorites is The Sports Psychology Podcast with Dr. Patrick Cohn.

Every week Dr. Cohn covers a different topic that relates to high achievement in sports, but can also be applied to any area of life where you need to be positive, confident, and focused.

If you need some extra motivation, listen to this podcast, and you'll be conditioning yourself for success!

You can find the podcast here: Sports Psychology Podcast - Get Psyched for Sports , or subscribe to it in iTunes.

There are a lot of lessons that can be learn from sports. I was a 'peak performer' during the last couple of years of my martial arts competition career. In the process, I learned a lot of the basic principles of overcoming challenges like injuries and losses to beating competition. Pretty well all of these lessons can be applied to all other areas of life as you implied.

Never heard of Dr. Cohn. Thanks for the link to the podcast. I wonder how Sports Self Help material can translate to IM.

To me, sports psychology creates a mindset that helps you to stay motivated and focused when things don't seem to be working the way you want them to. You can apply that to anything.

Yeah, I can understand now how it can help since I just experienced a mental IM barrior that I had to get over. Just like in sports I had to remember to stay focused, stay motivated, and to not panic.

Yeah, I get in a few miles a day myself. You have to get your blood flowing.

Thanks for the link. I agree, mwright, about sports psychology creating a mindset to help someone stay focused and, also, helps them push through to victory when others choose to give up. I've watched sports enough and been around guys who were athletes when they were younger to know that they have a different mindset than many of the rest of us. They have learned how to succeed and that can be applied in any area of life.

Just went out to the site - looks pretty awesome to me. Looking forward to listening to some of the podcasts to see if they help with IM. Seems like they should.
