The happiest moments in my life have something to do with my family or my long time girlfriend. If I don't count them, one of my happiest moments must have been winning a long jumping competition in front of a huge crowd abroad. I broke my record and was the only foreign competitor that day. It's still the best competition I've ever had.

Also the day when I landed my first big client from the US (4000$ for a video advertisement)! It felt SO good.

So many of them but some of the more memorable ones include my first ever karate world champion title in 1999, finishing my last university exam ever, getting my level 2 ski instructor certification and numerous moments with my dogs.

My last birthday at the Drake Hotel where I met Alexz Johnson for one of her concerts She's the girl in my avatar. A LOT of work, and love, went into that entire day. It was really surreal. If I didn't take pictures I'd have wondered if it actually happened. That's not even my overall goal either, but getting to that point was extremely fulfilling and satisfying.

And yes, she's a total sweetheart and a great person. Whoever said "Never meet your idol." has obviously never met her

    Very happy moment...

My happiest moment in life? Is that I finished my education with gratitude and excellency. The fact that not all have a chance to finish their education for some other reason. Knowledge is priceless and without knowledge you will never attain you goals in life and of course to become successful someday.

That would probably certain times as a child when everything was so new... there are other times that probably match these, but knowing that these were the first moments in my existence makes them exceptional, perhaps. I suppose I have had other peak experiences recently...

Okay, so we don't discuss politics or religion. But in order to answer the question I have to venture into forbidden territory briefly. My happiest moments are when I experience the presence of God as I am praising Him. There is an unspeakable ecstasy in His presence to which no other experience can compare. That is my happiest moment.

I can remember the day, the place, the kids, the weather, the sounds and the exact moment that I was able to ride a two wheeled bicycle.

It had red metal flake paint and once I got going I didn't stop going round in circles for (what seemed like) hours. It was a spare bike as well so I didn't have to give it back until I was called back into the shop (it was around the back of our old shop in the vacant block behind the car park).

It was the first time I experienced moving myself faster than I could run and being in control of such "power" changed my life. I remember my wide eyes and disbelief at what was happening like it was 10 minutes ago and it lead to a lifelong interest in old cars and all things mechanical.

There's a take away from this as well because it was a younger kid that saw me standing around and asked if I wanted to ride his old bike and when I told him (Sam was his name) that I didn't have a bike and couldn't ride he said "it's easy, just get on, pedal really fast and point the handlebars straight until you have to turn." So I did...and I was amazed.

That was a great moment and now that I look back on it (thanks OP) a great life lesson that I would do well to remember more often.

    Great thread!

Bill, your comment reminded me of my first bike ride. I was home from school for lunch, I rode the bike for the first time, slight incline, parked car...oops! Even though I was a "little" boy I still remember the....uh... discomfort. It wasn't the happiest moment but your post caused me to vividly remember it.

I'd have to say the happiest moment in my 22 years would have to be in 2010 when my job at a trucking company laid me off.

It's not because I became an internet marketer though, it's because for once I got to see life in a different way. I was sad, angry, and scared. But more than anything else, I was happy.

It was really odd, because you'd think I would be devastated at losing my job, but I wasn't.

Maybe it sucked a little, but overall the experience was amazing and it's changed my entire life for the better.

I know this may come as outrageous advice, but if you don't enjoy your job, quit it. Screw that crap. Yea you might struggle, you might end up going back to the job, but you'll give yourself an opportunity to think differently.

P.S. They offered me my job back a few months later and I said no thank you because I had already found my calling online.

P.P.S. I will never work for another company like that again.. oi, just thinking of it makes me mad.

I agree, I quit over 47 different (****ty) jobs (stopped counting in 1995) and it it's the best feeling. Driving away that afternoon leaving a miserable job behind me forever was a feeling of freedom that was to later become the norm for me. A job can be slavery in a dungeon being poked by a spear.

I used to love a good quit and then the excitement of getting a new job (yes, it took me a while to learn not to want to be a slave) and the first few weeks were always good fun but then it wore off and every job become a grind. Quitting jobs (for self respect) was always a joyous moment in my life. It's too short. I'd rather be broke and free than sad in a job and people tell me these days that all they want is freedom. For many, the moment they realise they are free is the happiest moment in their lives.
