PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

I'm pretty sure this has been posted before and I think it's that good I'm going to post it again for the people who haven't seen it.

I remember reading something online with a similar theme and you'd be amazed how many of history's greatest people, innovations, and inventions which we still use today (including the telephone and the television) were doubted, written off, and even ridiculed by people who "Knew what they were talking about."

And I think that's a great testament for the tenacity of the human spirit.

I think the single most important thing I ever read was that Thomas Edison said "I didn't fail a thousand times. The light bulb was an invention with a thousand steps." Showed me that we now live in a world beautifully lit by the tenacity of a single man who succeeded because of a 1000 failures.

The most inspiring model in this video is Abraham Lincoln.

His younger days is about failures, he even gone through a nervous breakdown, yet eventually he became one of the best President of America.

...Albert Einstein was a theoretical physicist widely regarded as the most important scientist of the 20th century. He was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize for Physics for his explanation of the photoelectric effect in 1905 and "for his services to Theoretical Physics". However, when Einstein was young, his parents thought he was mentally retarded. His grades in school were so poor that a teacher asked him to quit, saying, "Einstein, you will never amount to anything!".....

Here are a few more thoughts:

Harry Potter was rejected a dozen times before being published.
Dr. Seuss's first book was rejected by over 20 publishers
Gone with the Wind was rejected 38 times
Judy Blume received nothing but rejections for two years.

Abraham Lincoln...

Failed in business at age 21.
Was defeated in a legislative race at age 22.
Failed again in business at age 24.
Overcame the death of his sweetheart at age 26.
Had a nervous breakdown at age 27.
Lost a congressional race at age 34.
Lost a congressional race at age 36.
Lost a senatorial race at age 45.
Failed in an effort to become vice-president at age 47.
Lost a senatorial race at age 47.
Was elected PRESIDENT of the US at age 52!

Now that's it the spirit well all have to develop if we want to become sucessful.

To add to the Walt Disney bit, he was turned down by over 50 banks until someone took a gamble on his idea of a family amusement park called Disneyland. All the people in that video displayed admirable discipline and dilligence.
