What lessons of life have you learnt from Harry Potter - By: J K Rowling

I'm a great fan of HP series. I started reading these books some 4-5 yrs back and since then have read the entire series 3 times.
It's not just the fantasy world of wizards, broomsticks, Quiditch, Potions and much much more..but more than that there are PLENTY of lessons and life advices that one can learn from this.

I've learnt so much from these series. Be it how to be a good friend, a kind and noble person, determined to do your best w/o worrying about the results or be it to love and care for someone...there are many great joys in this series apart from just a amazingly wonderful hidden world of wizards and witches.

Share your most interesting moments and lessons/advices that you might have gathered from this series

i love and laughed out loud at your nick name. i really enjoyed the series. my daughters and i will sit and watch all the videos, great family time for us as well as entertaining. if i had to pick one, it is Dumbledore's quotes to harry, both alive and after about hogwarts-it will always help those who ask, reward/help those who deserve it. i surely hope with the ending JK wrote, harry will one day be the headmaster of the school and his kids will provide ample entertainment and future quiditch triumphs.

I doubt if harry ever wanted to become Hogwarts headmaster. He was more interested in being an Auror and saving humanity. Althuogh I did like the quote you've chosen what big D use to say a lot..actually help will always be given to those who deserve it and put their hardship in their work..don't u think??

I loved the books and have really enjoyed following the films. I have grown up with the weasley twins (ollie and james phelps) and seeing what they have achieved has been amazing. I think it has taught me that literally anything is possible, but to be humble with it. The attention they get is ridiculous but they are the most down to earth people i know!

There are so many lessons one can take away from the Harry Potter Movies. That's why adults and children alike enjoy Harry Potter. Still have to read the books.
Here are some of the lessons learned. Just to name a couple.
    1) Learning to take risks eventhough it may seem scary
    2) Helping others and being present in the moment
    3) Doing research to find out more about a subject or topic that one may not be familiar with.
    4) Never give up and standing up for your rights
    The list is endless.

I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I have seen all of the movies, several times each, and own them on DVD. I have the entire series of books and thoroughly enjoy immersing myself in them. The stories have so many aspects of the human condition that I can identify with, as can millions of other fans, I presume.

This week was the release of Part I of the final movie in the Harry Potter series. My daughter and I went to the midnight showing of the movie the very first night. It was all that we anticipated, and more.

As I watched this most recent film of the series, I was drawn in completely into the story, as I usually am. However, as I sat there this time, I was also drawn into the pure humanness of the aspects of the story, and what lessons there are in it, for all of us:

First of all, we all possess light, and darkness. Even those of us who try to be the best person that we can be, we have a side of ourselves that we keep hidden from those around us; that is less willing to come out into the light.

Secondly, humans want to be loved and cared for. Whether we are Ron Weasley in the movie, wanting Hermione to care for him as much as he is also resisting her; or we are a person who feels alone and unloved, we all crave that human connection.

Thirdly, we all need to believe in our own ability to make magic. Even Harry cannot create magic unless he truly believes in his own power to do so. We all carry within us the power to make our dreams happen, to bring magic into our own lives. The key is to believe in it.

Fourth, we all love the feeling of home. Even though Harry's parents are dead, he returns to the place of his childhood and it connects him to who he truly is.

One final lesson is that we all are much more brave than we realize we are at times. Even when facing off against death, the characters in the movie fight fully and bravely. I know so many people in my life, who would see themselves as ordinary, yet their bravery is nothing less than extraordinary.

I know that the impact of these films will always be with me, but what will also continue to impact me, is how they tell the story not only of Harry and his friends, but of all of us as well.

I LOVED these books and movies!

But to be honest- I don't know what lessons I learned from them :-p

This series is great entertainment because the characters are like real people- they face normal-people problems and develop over time, yet there's a ton of action and suspense.
