Do you do this in the morning?

How you start the morning is important. It can kickstart your motivation and get you over that tired hump in the morning. So you can do the most important thing. Just get started.

What routine do you use? Let's share ideas and see what we can learn from each other.

Here's mine:
-wake up and spring out of bed
-slam 500ml of water
-breakfast immediately
-10 minutes of exercise
-10 minutes of meditation
-two journaling questions as I learned to do from ted nicholas
-What am I feeling?
-What do I want?

After a lot of testing I've found this gets me off to a great start every morning. Full of energy and ready to get started. How about you? What routine does you best?

Always a hot shower to start the morning works for me.

Then breakfast, then go out and water the plants for a few minutes to give me a zen like state.

Then go to my desk and clear the clutter, and first things first, check my site/keyword stats, Adsense/Amazon/Paypal/stocks, checking my email (1 hour max for these, they could be time suckers if not watched), review yesterday's tasks (done? not done?) then write a todo-list and agenda for the day.

I am a later riser. I get up around 10:00am and the first thing I do is check my emails and overnight earnings.

While sitting at the computer I have breakfast.

After that, I do whatever I have planned for that day, but any spare time I spend working on my sites.

I start with meditation--usually 10 minutes or so. Just something to get me centered and focused for the day ahead. Then I like to think about what I want to accomplish that day and set the intent. I find I get a lot more done when I take time for this step. Also, I like to come up with a few things from the day before that I am thankful for, express gratitude, and then come up with one thing I can do today to move closer to my goal. If I manage to get through all these things my day is so much better!

    DanteRomero,

great things you share here. But morning is practically the same, there is only one difference: I meditate while i'm in bed, and the main thing in this meditation is to say "thanks" to god, that i woke up today, than i can work and can love.

I start each morning with the following:
30 minutes personal development (audio, reading or video)
Gratituding - write the 10 things I am grateful for that are coming to me (big results)
    25 x written affirmations
Check opt-in stats, facebook ads, analytics
    Answer e-mails
Then I begin the 6 point check list of dollar productive activity for the day, which I always write out the night before.
I get a lot done when I follow this through, not to mention the good results that amount from it.
    Hope it helps someone.

      Hey Vaughan,

Do you really do this every single day? Especially the first 3 points.

This one is a great idea! Starting the day with e-mail is often starting the day with what everyone wants us to do -- rather than going for what we want.

Which can be a recipe for never getting it, unfortunately.

I struggled getting into a routine like you (and still do sometimes). What worked for me though is writing out a list of everything you could possibly do in the morning routine and just experiment with a different routine each week and soon you will figure out what gets you going in the morning and what doesnt.

I know I really don't like exercise in the morning as my muscles just haven't woke up to do any serious lifting but others swear by it. I think its just a case of trial and error and importantly trying to enjoy it whatever your doing.

I see what you mean, but you can build towards it. Just start with one thing and do it for 21 days - - it becomes habit; Then start another one and so on. Just keep adding.

Once it's a habit, it just happens. You can build a lot into your life on auto-pilot over time.

      Cheers!

Depends what I'm doing on those days as sometimes I need to be on the comp, or sometimes I need to wake up to go gym.

Days I need to be on the comp, I just wake up, get a drink and food maybe and then switch the comp on, and do my stuff. The food and drink may come after.

Gym days, I set my alarm to wake up using Sleep Cycle so I'm refreshed, then I shower, eat and go gym. Going to the gym sets my day greatly. Less me relieve a lot.

In between tasks, I will do a 20 to 30 mins meditation to relax my mind and body; especially to relieve those tired eyes which had kept staring at the monitor

You ever try squeezing a fresh lemon in your water? amazing the power of lemon. research it or just try it.. the affect is fairly noticeable

i also like making sure the water is ice cold.. some people disagree about the health benefits of this but i feel great... glass of ice cold water really wakes you up.

i like a lot of your routines.

its important to get some water in your system. the brain needs water to function at high levels and after 5 to 10 hours of sleep its really lacking water.

exercise is also great for getting oxygen in your system. if your not fit a simple walk around the block is enough. (deep breathing also works)

writing goals keeps you moving forward in the right direction.

i like reading something inspirational.. magic of thinking big, think and grow rich are some really good ones. if any wants more ideas just ask.

Meditation &gratitude.... .. i like to take 10 minutes a few times throughout the day.. nothing fancy.. i can be anywhere as long as i take this time to think alone..

eating a healthy breakfast.. get a balance of carbs, pro, fats.. make sure its healthy.

and most important.... TAKE ACTION on your goals for the day!

oh and i saw a post on affirmations.. i tried the writing them down each day and found it difficult to keep up this habit too.. what works for me is memorizing a few simple affirmations and repeating them to yourself throughout the day...

Could you give a brief summary of the benefits of the lemon juice? I think I recall hearing about this before and am interested.

I also wanted to toss in another one quick. I'm adding the exercises from Command Z: Radical undoing to my mornings. These exercises have literally changed my life SO FAST. It's incredible.

I highly recommend this stuff. I took their simpleology course by the same name but their site is talking about the same stuff. Here's a link:

Lemon.. lowers blood sugar, it slows down the release of sugar in the blood, helps detox the body, and also has the effect of making the body more alkaline (Aple cider vinegar is also known to help make the body more alkaline)

Thanks for sharing. I recall Mark Joyner recommending the lemon water each morning but wasn't sure why. Great stuff!

Now to see if I can find lemons here. When I was traveling through Malaysia they were almost impossible to find. I'll see if Singapore has any.

I also read that great advice somewhere but here I always read about Kalamansi juice, also a citrus variant. It's cheap but tedious to prepare.

          Here's my morning routine:
Right after opening my eyes, I ask myself what would excite me this day.
Then drink water, have a light breakfast, some stretching and exercise.
Then ready to work and play!

    1. My alarm clock starts screaming!
    2. I turn it off!
    3. I sleep again!!!!!!!!!!!!

I even placed the alarm clock in a veeerrrrrryyyyy distant place! But did the same thing over and over again! Why? 'Cause I am in vacation!!!

Careful with springing out of bed. Studies show that cardiac arrests happen to more people who jump out of bed. Take your time so let your blood pressure normalize before getting out. Saying a prayer of gratitude for being alive is a good way to do that.
