I Made Over $3,000 Today :)

Not trying to gloat in anyway whatsoever. But I felt this could be motivational to others.

I own more than 130 websites now. And of course I don't receive this much on a regular basis. It's quite rare really. But in the last 24 hours I have made over $3,000 from my niche websites.

I just want those out there whom have been struggling that they should never give up. I've been at this since the beginning of 2010. At first it was quite a struggle and I devoted many 16 hour days to everything (I was laid off on January 4th, 2010). But given time, things have become a lot easier.

There is no telling if I will make more money overnight, but just to even consider the fact that you can sleep and make money is a huge thing.

I remember dreaming about sleeping without worry and it's really coming a reality.

But here's the deal. Once you hit a high point. Aim higher. Forget about chilling and relaxing right away. Keep going.

I have no knowledge of what the future will be like. But I am striving not to give up. Sometimes I have days where I literally make almost nothing at all. On regular occasions I do pretty well, especially considering I make more now than I did working for 3 jobs.

And then on rare occassions, there are days like today.

But just because they are "rare" doesn't mean they have to stay that way.

I will keep pushing to make it so that one day the "not so good" days will actually be pretty decent.

So anyone out there that has considered giving up. DON'T. It's not worth it. You might just be right around the corner from the one thing that could change the rest of your life.

In 2008 I lived on the streets in a 1995 Pontiac Sunfire with a trunk that wouldn't close, a door that wouldn't lock, and no air condition or heat.

I sold that car last year when I started making money

I now own a 1992 Suzuki GSX 600 (stunt bike) and my new 2009 Kawasaki ER-6n. Bought my first LCD tv, own 2 laptops, and tons of little gadgets.

But I would not be able to say that if I wasn't working online.

Right now I would still be working at a trucking company that didn't care for me whatsoever. And honestly I would have (at least in my head) gotten no where in my life, because I knew of people that had studied Chemistry in college that were still working there.

I'm proud to be an internet marketer. And so should you. Even if you aren't having any large success's yet. Look at the little success's as big and you'll get far.

That's my current story Hope you enjoyed it. And never give up!

Thanks a lot Louie. As for how long, please refer to the second paragraph. But just to be cool I'll answer it too. I started at the end of 2009 (very end) and then actually really started in January 2010.

      Here's to your success

          Yep

I'm excited even at the tiny success's.

I know this might sound weird because I talk about huge amounts of traffic all the time, but even when I see a single pageview on one of my really small sites, I get stoked.

That's because when I see visitors, I know I'm going to be making a profit while also providing someone a solution to something.

It's even better when you can average out your average income per visitor.

For example if you have a site that makes $100/day and you receive only 100 unique visitors, then that means each visitor is worth an average of $1.00.

Now imagine getting 1,000 unique visitors a day

          Oooo it's exciting for sure.

if you don't mind sharing, what is each of your visitors worth? that is an interesting metric.

It really depends on the niche.

For most it's not very much, probably around $0.01 to $0.20, but once you add that up it turns into a nice profit.

If you had 100 visitors a day and your visitors were worth $0.20 a piece, you'd make $20/day, so you can see how it adds up.

Now I do have some niches where my visitors are worth an average of $2.00 a piece and even one that is worth even more, but that's because they are so extremely targeted that they are pretty much going to buy whatever it is that I have to offer.

    Nice job, Warrior!

It's a nice milestone to reach $3k in one day and I
always get a kick out of reading other stories.

It's other peoples stories that led to my first $1000
    month without a 9 to 5.

...because I selfishly wanted to have a story of my
    own to tell

Also, it's stories like yours that keep me focused on
my goals despite the failures and setbacks.

...today, this was just what I needed to see. I know
it's not normal to get $3k days for you, but the point
is that now you reached a milestone...and it's a new
    reality.

But, in true warrior fashion, no matter how high the
goals are, we always want more...we tell ourselves
it'll be enough but it never is.

    Keep up the great work.

    @Benjamin,

    Absolutely agreed

I am excited to say that today has also been pretty well for me as well. It's possible it's due to something like the earthquake or hurricane (websites don't relate to them, but people freak out and buy stuff sometimes, I know I do).

But I do want to stress that it's not always this way. Some people think you get into this industry and make $3,000 a day every single day. When that's not realistic.

I have had $1,000+ days, but usually it ranges in the low hundreds. Now of course if I built 10x more traffic to my sites then it's likely I could have those $1,000+ days on average, but it's not always going to happen. Some days people just don't buy anything. Heck even some months people don't spend so much money.

I am interested to see what 2012 holds as people consider it to be the end of the world (whole bunch of crap if you ask me) maybe we will see spending sky rocket, or maybe it will just die off and people will walk away from technology? Who knows

The future is always a mystery.

P.S. The show "FlashForward" is awesome... I started it last night and couldn't stop. Ended up watching 11 episodes and now I have to evacuate my city tomorrow because of the coming Hurricane Irene.. fun stuff. Not.

One good thing about actually having money is that I was able to evacuate

I am now in Roanoke, Virginia which is about 250 miles away from Virginia Beach. I heard there is major flooding, there was a tornado, and a few deaths. I feel terrible knowing that people were hurt or killed, but I am glad I decided to leave.

You can never be too safe.

But if there's one thing I know... if I didn't have the money I wouldn't have done it. Plain and simple.

Who knows, IM may save my life at some point.

That right there and a quote in Frank Kerns book (can't remember which one off the top of my head) about having to look someone in the eye and say that you can't afford to give them what they want, or worse yet what they need, is what keeps me going every day in IM. I never want there to come a day when I can't give my son what he needs.

Congrats on the $3K day! Keep up the awesome work! I still get the same thrill from small sales as I do from big ones too

Hey Roanoke! Warrenton here. Just read your story. Thanks for sharing. It's funny because in this business things can turn "on a dime". So, it's important not to quit before the miracle happens, as my grandad always says.

When I started out, I just played around and didn't really have any clear goal. It was more of a hobby. Then I stopped for awhile and devoted life to my day job again. But in the back of my mind, I always knew that I could become my own boss (But, no one is ever TRULY their own Boss, now are they?"). So, I remember that first day that I got serious and "went for it". I put a few gigs out there, wrote a few freebie articles, and within 1 week I had landed my first long term client. I still write for her today, about 20 hours a week.....more when things get slow.

I feel it is always important to remember where you came from! I've been writing for this client for years, and only raised my rates once with her. Why? Because she gave me my first SHOT! So, she got in the door first, when I was really hungry. Loyalty is key. So, I write for her part time, and spend a lot of my other time going after the "big bucks".

Balance is key. And I like the fact that your way of "giving back" to the IM community is to write articles like this. Kudos Virginia!

I definitely prefer affiliate and CPA marketing. CPC marketing can do well, but in my experience it's easier to increase conversions on affiliate links. Also with affiliates you have more control over what's going on.

If there was any experience prior to 2009 it was playing a video game called Runescape, but really other than that I had never built a website or done anything online other than check emails and browse around on Google. I also used to be a fan of Myspace, but then they destroyed their network

There are thousands of people with the name "Justin Lewis", which sucks. So you may have gotten me confused with one of them.

    Hi Justin,

    First of all, congrats!

Quick question, how many approx visitors do you get to your sites per day? I know you have quite a lot but what is your general target.

    Cheers
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[4680950].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author Justin Says
    @Adam,

    That varies extremely.

I have one site for example that now receives over 14,000+ visitors a day, many others get around 300 - 1,000 also.

I then have plenty of smaller sites that get only 50 - 300 per day.

And then my failed projects which receive around 5-10 per day.

I would say the best goals to aim for are small. It's not about aiming for one primary goal. If a niche is easy, traffic will be easy, if it's crazy difficult, the traffic will be too.

Don't aim for 100 visitors a day right off the bat, instead aim for 20, if you can reach a steady 20, then 50 will be easy, and 100 will be even easier once you have a good flow.

After you hit 100, don't suddenly go crying that you aren't making millions. You probably won't. But 100 visitors, if used properly can turn into cash quite easily. It's all about the niche, what you promote/advertise/use as monetization, and how you go about doing it.

Someone visiting a website about baking are probably not going to convert as well when it comes to things like frying, steaming, or grilling. They are there to find information on baking, so give it to them. Give them everything they will need to know and keep giving them more if that's what your market desires.

I have websites with literally 3 pages that receive 500 unique visitors a day and then sites with 50 pages that receive 5 visitors a day. But that's not because I'm lazy, that's because I enjoy that site with 3 pages, versus the site with 50 pages. So obviously, the website I have more interest in is going to be more successful.

Yes, I could build traffic to the website with 50 pages that I spent a lot of time on, but honestly I have no interest in it at all.

The website with 3 pages however, I have tons of interest, I could go on and on about it all day long without getting tired, so guess what? I build more traffic to it

My ultimate goal however is not about money, it pertains to success, happiness, and freedom.

I guess you could say I plan to make $1,000,000 by the age of 25 (3 more years), but that's just because I like statistics and I like proving things to myself. If I don't reach that goal, I'm not going to be angry or sad. Instead I'll be interested more in what I did right and what I did wrong in those 3 years.

I will give you 1 huge tip of advice though that you may have already learned in this post.

Build a website around something you have interest in.

    It's that simple. I own 130+ sites now, soon I'll own 150.

From my experience, those next 20 websites will probably be more successful than the previous 130 websites combined, just because I have extreme interest in all of them.

Do I know everything about the niches? No.

Do I have interest in learning about them? Absolutely.

And that I guess would be a secret to my success

Anyways, I'm heading to bed! Hope this long winded post, that was meant to only be one paragraph is helpful!

You build traffic to it by going on and on?

      But it has 3 pages?

When I hear "going on and on" I think content.

See that's where you are mistaken but also correct at the same time

Content is everything, it doesn't just have to be text. Include images/video/audio, etc in "content".

But, the concept here is that I built the website itself and put all of my effort into building traffic through many different methods.

It's all about taking action and pushing yourself to see how much you can get done without overwhelming yourself.

I have a site that has a ton of pages, little interest, but high profits. And another site with barely any pages, tons of interest, but extremely low profits.

    Hey Justin,

Well done Buddy! It proves that if you focus and take action, anything in life is possible.

Do you also flip websites or are they all income generating sites?

    Cheers

Excellent story. I'm just giving my resignation notice from my fulltime job right now, and I have been learning the basics of the internet marketing world for about a month. I hope to be successful as well, so hopefully I won't have to work for anyone else again.

Thanks for sharing that inspirational piece.

Just make sure you look at internet marketing realistically, most people that try don't succeed in the beginning, and those that ultimately don't succeed down the road are usually not doing the right thing, spamming the internet, using blackhat techniques, or just don't have the motivation.

Thanks a lot. I have had quite large days with all of my niche websites and business, but hitting that barrier is pretty tough. I know there are things I should be doing to reach that goal, but once you get to a certain level it can sometimes be a bit daunting to push even further. Especially when I am comfortable where I am right now.

I suppose I could be even more comfortable and could help even more people if I do push that barrier though, so thanks a lot!

Amen to that dude, I'm glad to hear you are doing so well. I've been averaging around 400-500 per day for the past few weeks, and all I can think about (or dream about it seems) is just doubling and doubling and doubling those results.

I'm hearing Skype contact requests in my sleep.. lol no joke. I turn my speakers off at night. So I know it was a dream. But then when I woke up, I had a contact request

It was pretty freaky stuff but awesome at the same time.

But yeah anyway, congratulations my friend. I hope it continues for you!

That would be possible, but now my goal is to make those websites even more profitable. I do love my $4 a day websites and $20 a day website, but now the goal is to make them profit $50 - $100 a day.

        Think of it this way.

If you have 100 visitors a day and are converting 4 of them into sales making $1 a piece, that's $4 a day.

So imagine if I had 1,000 visitors a day.

If I could keep that same conversion I would then generate $40 a day.

Then the goal is to push my conversions higher and see if I can generate even more income from less people.

To go more in depth here's my routine that ANYONE can repeat.

        1. Market Research
        2. Keyword Research
        3. Build the Website (on-site SEO included)
        4. Index the Website (usually takes only a few hours for me, but can take up to a month in rare cases, my fastest indexation was 15 minutes)
        5. Build Traffic to the Website (100 unique visitors is a minimum requirement for me)
        6. Monetize the Website (I do this AFTER I build traffic, you won't earn a dime if you waste your time monetizing beforehand)
        7. Convert the Traffic into Sales (I aim for 1 sale per 100 uniques, but my ultimate goal is 15 sales per 100 uniques, and it is possible because I have some sites that do that, but traffic is low).

        Hope that helps

          5. How you building traffic? you using other methods or just SEO?

For multiple adsense sites i'm not using any article marketing or any other trafic techniques, just index to google, backlinks and when my site is first, i just leave it =)

          first of all congrats dude,

          next,

why monitize after 100 visitors? I have a site now that im trying to get traffic on and i have my amazon affiliate links on all my posts, and some adsense ads. should i remove these until i get traffic.

and any tips on building traffic?

If you are getting sales, then I would say it's okay.

But at the same time, just remember to keep the visitor on the front end. Money on the back.

The reason I say focus on money last is because that way you can put 100% of your focus on content + traffic.

Those should be your ultimate desires.

To many it sounds crazy to monetize later, but in my experience it works out better because I don't get wrapped up in adding advertisements to my site and then changing them with only 20 visitors/day.

More traffic = easier stats to track = more accurate stats = more money and faster conversions.

Congrats on your success. I will, however, strongly disagree with #6. I always monetize as soon as I put a site up and I very often (more times than not) make a profit by the second week.

I definitely get where you are coming from.

The main reason I state this is for beginners, people who have yet to make an income.

If they focus too much on monetization, they'll focus less on actually trying to help someone (in most cases that I've seen).

Teaching hundreds of people, I know that the hardest thing is to get out of the money mindset.

Also, you said by the second week. That means you built traffic right? You could put all of your focus on traffic versus monetization and focus on monetization in the second week, correct? Just a thought

The mindset of most marketers is MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, when it should be helping people solve problems.

Think of it this way. Pizza Hut and Papa Johns help give people solutions.
            • Hunger (by providing food)
            • Luxury (delivery and cooking it for you)
            • Time (yet again, delivery and cooking)

Those are there main goals. To help fill your stomach and provide a service while doing so.

It's just something to think about when you are building a business.

Maybe you'd want to do some #RCS.

    Man that's great, congrats!

On another note, save your money and don't spend it all too fast on gadgets. Anything can change, one day you're making $3k, next day Google slaps you and you make ****. Unless you're going for REALLY stable traffic sources: Save for a rainy day.

@chart, agreed I don't rely just on the search engines, they are helpful, but I prefer to go with many different traffic sources that I see staying for quite some time.

I would never focus just on SEO. I do use SEO as a benefit towards building traffic and do work on ranking my sites, but I find that I receive more targeted and passive traffic from methods like forums, yahoo answers, communities, etc. Anywhere there are people that would have interest in my said product/service/niche.

Googles alogirthm is updated so periodically that every 17 hours (on average) there is a change in something. So dedicating all of your time to SEO sounds wasteful to me. Hope that helps.

I have never thought about it quite that way but that makes perfect sense. Going where my potential customers gather (forums & social network sites) has seen a far better ROI than I ever did with SEO so I dropped it.

I will say that SEO can be beneficial, but only if it's the right SEO.

For example, someone coming to a website about Dog Toys, through a keyword like "Cat Food" (let's just say you had that word on your website and you ranked for it) are far less likely to buy something from your website versus someone coming from a keyword like "Cheap Dog Toys" or "How to Train a Dog".

Those 2 words might also seem, way far apart, but if you had a page on your website about how to train a dog and that page used dog toys as a way to train a dog, it could result in a sale.

These are just my opinions, but in my experience it's all about how quality the traffic is.

Also think of it this way.

Let's just say you have a forum link on a forum relating to "Dog Training" but you only have 6 posts on the entire forum, then you probably aren't going to entice trust. But on a forum where you seem more "legit" and realistic, they may see your suggestions are more helpful.

In my experience, the more active you are with a community, the more likely they are to trust you and actually use your suggestions.

P.S. I try not to just join networks and suddenly post tons of great information. Instead I interact with the community, get them to trust me, because I am trusted, and then later I work on actually building traffic. Many times I won't even add a forum signature until I have 100+ posts.

Yea yahoo answers is amazing if used to full potential. I just see people answering questions with like 1 sentence, that's not the way to do it lol.

And I build 130+ sites for myself in about a year and a half.

And then about 400 for clients (without traffic + monetization of course)

So in the last 2 years I've built upwards of probably 550 websites all together as I've also built many for friends/family.

@Signup, no I have never used AdSense to advertise my niche websites.

I honestly invest barely any money into my niche websites.

In total for all 130+ websites I invest about $300-$400 a month, and that's it.

Seeing as I have had websites generate me more than $10,000 in a single year, I think that's pretty fair.

That's roughly $3,600 - $4,800 invested on a yearly basis now and that's it. And those are just on tools + hosting + domain registration.

All of the money earned via that is then put into my primary business's which I am building 4 huge websites right now.

I also have 2 very large niche websites and in the future I plan on having about 10 massive niche websites along with my large + small niche sites and 4 business's.

@tamalee, I'm glad I could help. Use those tips wisely as they have done very well for me and I can see them doing much better for someone who has even more initiative

I added a link between the 2 threads so it's easy to get back and forth, thanks again.

Wow! Very encouraging! That's awesome, do you use adsense or what? How in the heck did you get 130 websites? Are they all .infos or what? Do you have a reseller?

    Geez!
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[4741323].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author Justin Says
@MarketerJosh, in the beginning I did use Adsense however I have moved onto affiliates as I find I have much more control over them. I still use AdSense and make an income from it everyday, but my affiliate earnings are much higher.

As for the domains, they are all either .COM, .ORG, or .NET and they were all purchased for $9.99 from DomainOrb.com

The only reason I pay $9.99 (I can get them cheaper) is because I like the basic interface of DomainOrb and it's easier for me to use for a large amount of websites. It's also the first registrar I used and it stuck with me. I would however suggest GoDaddy as they have much better support and deals for $0.99 sometimes.

And I do not have a reseller, nor do I understand what that would entail as I have never messed around with reselling

Man I have got to say, this is one of the best post I have read about someone's success. I, like many people, became aware of IM through an info product boasting about making thousands of dollars with no work ( LOL, should have known better). I followed the bare bones presentation and nothing happened in 2 months; so I closed the site (2nd mistake).

I picked back up actually studying and following forums like this (which I LOOOVEEEEE ) and others, and found there was so much information that I was oblivious of. I can thank the person that made the product to opening my eyes to the world of Affiliate Marketing and take responsibility for not doing my own due diligence on ways to actually be successful. But I now know that I need to learn about building a strong list, even stronger content and driving traffic, which is what I am doing now.

But, I just wanted to let you know that I loved taking the time to read this post (and will check your other post out when I get off). I like that you were real about what you successes are and how everyday is not a 3k day (just yet ). That the realism that new people need. And the diligence you have to run 130 sites (WOW) will bring you to your next goal of a consistent 10k/day. And I pray that it comes to you soon. I didn't feel you were gloating at all, just being what the internet need -- REAL.

To your continued successes and blessing -- cheers from your brother across the NC border lol....

The key to any successful website is knowing your visitors. Site Analytics gives you the valuable, real-time data you need - information you can use to spotlight popular products, target new customers, track offer responses and much more. With over 30 detailed reports, you can find out where your visitors are coming from, what paths they take through your site, even where in the world they live.

thank you Justin for sharing it was very inspiring but tell me -
how do you make that niche sites work for you ?
I was depend on google ads until they suddenly without warning or visible reason decided to close my account. then I needed to try some other ad networks and gained 10 time less then with google adsense. so my income dramatically changed over night.

so what I'm asking is how you do it? is this with ShareASale account? or other sites you recommend?
also how you can keep your income safe , I mean like if your main income is from ShareAsale then if they will close your account you will make lot less money... in my case it was google adsense.

if you already have more then one big income source please share it with us.
and I will appreciate if you could tell us tips on how you manage all this sites and accounts 130+ domains is A LOT!

      Hey Mullah,

Keep up the pace. Don't give up.

$15 a month can turn into $1,500 a month quite easily if you put yourself further into the business.

I don't know what exactly you are doing and how you are doing it, but don't give up. You will achieve success, but remember you MUST take action.

You stated that you are giving almost 8 hours a day to IM, but are you continuing to progress or staring at statistics and information that really doesn't matter as much yet?

Focus on your end goal, keep that in front of you, continue to progress, and you will achieve the success you are looking for

I'm blown away at how many thanks I received on this post

I haven't had another day like this with my niche websites, but I have had another day where I made over $2,000 (near Christmas).

The biggest thing though, is that I don't really focus on Christmas.. I'm not a winter type of person.

I work in the winter time and build things up and then plan to have REALLY good springs, summers, and falls. But when winter hits I don't focus on trying to make money, that's the time to start building and gaining momentum for my niches

Remember, put at least 5 minutes of work a day into a project. Even if it's just working towards a small goal. If you stop putting 5 minutes of work a day into something, you might give up.

DO NOT let yourself give up, you can succeed if you try!

If you do real research on what I post, you'll realize that I post a lot of different things related to a lot of different markets. I primarily work with niche sites, Facebook, products, videos, affiliates, cpa, and autoresponders. So these are going to be the things I talk about, because I have knowledge in the industries.

Also I always try my best to give the best responses that I can possibly give with the short amount of time that I have to be on forums.

      Thanks for your feedback though.

My ultimate goal is to reach that status by the age of 25.

However, it's possible to reach that within less than a few weeks.

The problem is dedication, consistent action, and just being simple.

People worry too much about all the little things, when the fact is, just get the information out there. You can fix it up later, but ultimately get the knowledge out there and you'll see progression much faster.

Now $3,000/day isn't average for me of course, but by the end of this year, I plan on making $1,500/day an average earning. BUT at the same time, I plan on providing people solutions to problems.

When you provide solutions to people, you're doing things in a white hat fashion and that's my goal.

I don't want to become a millionaire just scoring every dollar I can. I want to help people with their problems and resolve them with my knowledge.

Worrying about the little things was what I doing when I tried to get my first sites up.What domain name should I choose, what exact theme, format etc.I was over analyzing everything when I should have just did it and then fix things as I go.

I have no doubt that you will reach your goals! Its also very noble that you make an effort to do things honestly by only sticking with white hat techniques. I think one of the main reasons you are becoming successful is your intentions. You want to help people solve their problems, and you being genuine and passionate about it, is coming through to people on your websites.I think that's a lesson to people who just put a website up with a lot of info that isn't well thought out ,or they aren't serious about, hoping it will drive traffic.

        Well, I have 140+ websites.

All together I have 3 shared hosting, a dedicated and VPS, but for different things.

In the end, my expenses are below $500, but without the dedicated, they are below $100/mo.

And SEO is done by myself and it's just basic instinctive on-site SEO that is realistic to what the search engines want. I don't build backlinks anymore and I am doing wonderful. On-site optimization skyrocketed my business

    Way to go Lewis!
I totally agree with you, the key to success in this business is to be patient, invest time to learn everything we need and understand it. Only then we must implement everything in our business, but mainly stay focused on the key things we learned.
A good lesson I learned in my time as an Internet Marketer, is just to do ONE THING AT A TIME. Because if you cover many niches and places, at least when we start, we end doing nothing and we get frustrated.
    Again, congratulations!

How do you get your sites on Page 1 so fast? (assuming you are using seo since you are making niche websites)

Here are the most basic and simplistic tips.

I focus on on-site optimization more than ANYTHING.

I don't put any focus on backlinks (however they can help, I just focus on traffic).

Here are a few optimization tips.
      1. H1, H2, H3 (h1 being most important with your keyword)
      2. 1-2 images per page (include basic lsi keywords in alt+title+around images)
      3. All in One SEO Pack (only title + description)
      4. Bold your keyword once on the entire site (this is just what I do)
      5. Be realistic. Don't try and trick the search engines.
      6. Focus on providing keywords that relate to your niche.

Here's one of the biggest tips when it comes to related keywords.

A guy I know has a website about Minecraft furniture (a video game)

Google AdSense shows "furniture" ads from Sears and other places all over his website.

I told him to add more content to express "gaming" and "minecraft" related topics and his rankings went up dramatically + Google Adsense ads were targeted at gaming now.

The reason is because at first Google had no clue what his website was about. They thought it was about physical furniture, when it was about video game furniture (totally different).

Hope those random tips help you out

There are of course many other things I do, but these are my basic primary methods.

Thank you! I never knew on site SEO was that powerful.
One last question: you are using wordpress right? You probably already answered this, but I just want to be sure.

          WordPress and FlexSqueeze theme.

I also use Genesis Framework and Thesis Theme on occasions.

Don't use laggy themes or themes with tons of graphics. Just focus on the basics. The more simple, the better.

I just use the regular All in One SEO Pack found here: WordPress › All in One SEO Pack « WordPress Plugins

There's no purpose to upgrade to the pro package. It gives you nothing really unless you need a specific feature.

I upgraded to it a while back for one of my sites and it didn't really give me much extra. I suggest just saving your money, because even though I own the pro upgrade I use the regular plugin without the upgrade lol.

          Just my 2 cents.

    Brilliant post!

Most people get to the end of their first year and see they have only made 50 bucks and then give up. What they don't realize is that if they did everything right in the beginning and never lifted another finger on their site, they will make a few thousand the next year and it goes up exponentially from there.

Don't do anything sleazy. Don't try and game the system and the money will come in. Once you get to Justin's level, you can make money immediately from just about anything you do. You just have to put in the time.

Congrats Justin! I remember when I gave away my crappy car and got something that I'd never have to fix myself again...

That's a very broad question Hanz. It's also a question that no one can guarantee and correct response.

          However, I can say this.

I built a website 2 days ago. The website took 30 minutes to build and write the content. 12 minutes later it was indexed. 3 minutes after it was ranked #14 (page 2). 32 hours later, it ranks on page 1 #8.

So that's in less than 2 days.

But I have spent tons of hours on websites and they still don't rank on the front page after 6 months.

It's about the keywords you go after, your on-site optimization, your competition, and if Google is feeling nice

Since the algorithm averages to change every 17 hours, it's pretty hard to estimate what the future will be like. But now I focus only on on-site optimization.

Well done buddy I think that's a fantastic achievement, I tried my hand with building up niche blogs but failed pretty hard. I could never actually convert any sales even with beautiful blogs and decent rankings.

This I am sure will inspire people into believing there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It just comes down to hard work and determination, I gave up and moved on to CPA but kept at it and have now found my way.

      Hey Crumpet,

This goes into the 5 minutes of work a day can go a long way speech that I give

Could you imagine how much further along you'd be if you spent 5 minutes a day for an entire year? Doesn't sound like much, but it would have kept you in the game.

But because you are taking this to heart and seeing it as an inspiration That makes me proud of these days more than anything. It's odd.. I used to think money was what drove success. Money isn't that big of a thing to me. I find pleasure in the fact that I can help others and you all help me by giving your praise. Thank you.

This is an inspiration to all those doing IM. This only means that you never gave up. There is something in you that made you reach that goal. A lot of people involved in internet marketing would give up a couple of months after or a couple of years after. They can't seem to find the motivation to go on and reach further than what they have today.

Determination is what you have and because of this, you developed perseverance. These are traits that you are not born with. These are traits that are learned throughout the years. Your outlook in life, your support system, your financial situation will all help you get the drive.

Everyone should be inspired and serve this testimony as something that is possible as long as you believe that one day, you will earn that amount of money in just one day. It is not an everyday thing but the fact that it happened, who knows if you will repeat that again. Congratulations!

I'm glad you are motivated by what I have to share

Remember I started right around your age. But to be honest, age is irrelevant to success.

If success depended on age, then we wouldn't see millionaires at the age of 13. And we wouldn't see people at 54 startup business's out of no-where (like Ray Croc did with McDonalds).

      I'm 22 now, in about 5 months I'll be 25.

Don't try and be like me. Try and be like the person that you feel is who you are. You have so much potential and so much going for you that it's truly an amazing thing.

It's okay to have role-models, mentors, and people that you look up too, but in the end, be yourself.

Do what you think is right and even though you might think it's the long-route, it'll pay off big time.

I wish you the utmost success and from what I see, you are going to be successful.

Never give up on your dreams

Thanks once again for taking the time to help us warriors and inspire us to take action.

Making affiliate websites is new to me because I used other methods however I believe this is where the real money is at so I want to start making these niche websites, and I tried searching around this forum, but its hard to get a good answer.

Anyways, if you are willing to answer any of these questions that would be great.
Do you regularly post content on your niche websites and keep updating it like a blog? Or is it like a set and forget kind of thing? 130+ websites seems hard if you have to keep on having to work with each one. But if you can do it then so can I.
How many words do you add to the site? 500 Words, 1000 words? More, less? In the view of a consumer I think something short and simple would be good as long as it provides necessary info, but I want to also consider Google. They want meaningful sites, so about how many words would you recommend?
Do you have multiple pages or just one page promoting the product with a link to it?

I found some niches and good keywords, but before I spend time optimizing it I want to know what I should focus on and those 3 questions are what I am wondering.

    Thank you Justin.

I love how everyone is taking this. Thank you so much for seeing this as an inspiration and motivation to continue.

My success is still very new to me and I'm having more and more successful days since the original post was made.

Just the other day I made more than $1,000 in a matter of hours. But again, this isn't typical.

My goal now is to push as hard as I can to make consistent income a reality. To make those $3,000 days more constant and have the more and more.

I look forward to sharing more of my success's in the future with Warriors because it truly does seem to be helping others see the light

Remember, action is key. Without it, you won't be successful. So take action today.

Awesome! That is great to here.
But can you answer me this one question?: Do you constantly update your sites, or is it set up and forget?
Because 130+ sites is amazing, but how can one manage that many?
      Thanks.

Although I own 140 sites now, I don't really maintain many of them.

Most are setup and walk away type, but the ones that are most profitable (my top 20) I update at least once a week.

It's all about taking action in small steps.

5 minutes of action can go a long way that's why I stress it so much.

      It still involves hard work.

I definitely do have the ability to do what I want, when I want, but I also have to make sure to continue my progress. Otherwise, it will all fall apart.

This year is going to be a great year for everything I'm doing as well.

A couple of days ago I made over $2,000 in 24 hours. But again, it's not consistent. It really varies.

      I'd say I average $200 - $300/day right now. But I plan on getting that to $1,000 - $2,000 average.

Reason being is because I know that even if things were to fall apart (which I wouldn't allow), I'd have enough money/resources/connections that I wouldn't have to worry about anything ever again.

But, I'm not there yet. I have a ways to go.

In the end though.. I'm happy $200 used to be my weekly salary for working hard-labor.

Thanks a lot. This is a good post really. I am a bit in the same situation, been working my a$$ off for a year and a half trying to build a decent revenue online, after losing my job a couple of years ago due to the financial crisis. Today I made 50 cents. But I am still trying.
My latest trial seems more promising, and if you don't mind, I would like if you could take a look at it and advise me on how to make it better:

What is missing? What can I improve?
Would you coach me on a brand new site that we would build together (you guide me and I do the work)? I am willing to do this on a revenue sharing basis, like 50/50 or something like that.
Please let me know your thoughts, and thanks again!

That is a motivational story of a type. What type of moneytisation? adsense, amazon, affiliate or?.

I love the story and goes to show that if you believe it, you can achieve it and if your mind perceives it, you can receive it.

Some times when you are low on motivation, reading stories like this force you to get off your b~~~~ and take action again.

Many people will look at what you have achieved and think it is an overnight success. No. It requires consistent action. Small steps.

And as I always say, THE BEST WAY TO EAT AN ELEPHANT IS IN PIECES.

I could absolutely see that happening.

There are so many people I know that haven't made anything but keep going and then there are those that haven't made anything and quit.

For those that quit, mostly they just went back to their jobs and regular lives, and even they say they'll probably do that for the rest of their life.

However, of those that keep going, I have seen such stories where they hadn't made anything for more than 5 years and suddenly they've achieved $1,000/mo.

And then I've heard of stories where people have spent $50,000 online, not achieving anything at all. But then they stop spending money and now they're making $3,000+ a month.

All you have to do is keep going, don't give up. And keep your expenses really minimal until you understand what you're doing.

Owning and managing that many websites are 2 different things

I probably only really keep up with about 10 - 20. The rest I built 1 time (within about 30 minutes - 1 hour) and since then I maybe check on them every month or few months, depending on what the niche is.

Most of those sites make profit passively, whilst my top 10 websites need my full attention.

Time management is tough, but the point is, put 5 minutes a day into each project at a minimal (the projects you want to succeed with the most) and you'll keep progressing.

I try to aim for at least 15 - 30 minutes per day per project and then 30 minutes - 2 hours for the big projects.

I own about 140 + 10 others that aren't built. But I will not lie and say I make $1,000+ a day on average.

I earn around $5,000 - $10,000 a month right now, each day varies for me. It also depends on the season, time, day of the month, niche, etc.

I've had days where I've pulled in over $8,000, but I've also had weeks where I've pulled in less than $100.

But to me, that's an outstanding success because before internet marketing I was struggling with 3 jobs barely even making enough money to cover rent, bills, insurance, phone, etc.

This can all be achieved by anyone. It's all about who goes out there and takes the chance/risk and pushes it.

Because really.. there isn't a risk if you just put in a little bit of effort each day. It'll just be apart of your daily routine

P.S. I've had days where I have made $1,000+ and I didn't touch the computer the entire week that I made it, so anything is possible.

What a great advice to give! Congratulations on your success and I think you've touched upon one of the, no, THE most important thing: DON'T GIVE UP! If you give up, you'll spend the rest of your life wondering what would have been? If you stick with IM or whatever your plans are, you'll get to point, be that 1,2,5,10 or even 20 years later when you can say: I did it, I succeeded, and it was worth it!

mamma mia, OMG, holy cow, but finally Thank GOD.

Thank you as well for waking me up of my comfort zone with almost desperate flavor in it.
So far I have only tried Adsense. Owns about 8 working sites, made $500 a month 6 months ago, but just sit there and waiting for it to grow, only to be slapped by Panda and a reality of shrinking income. Nowadays only 4 sites left and $150 / month.

But your thread inspires me. I have dreams, and will try to fulfill it, no, Strive to fulfill it.

    Thanks a gain...

A very nice post. I almost didn't read it because I saw the headline and thought it was going to be another, "I made X in this short time and you can too following my advice" sort of post. But I looked at your first couple sentences and realized that wasn't your point at all.

It's great to hear that people really can build success just by putting in the effort and not giving up. I still consider a big day any day over $100 and they are still pretty rare, but I know my profits will only continue to grow.

Thanks for reporting your not-overnight success that allows you to live a good life.

This is inspiring How do you come up with ideas for these many sites and how do you manage those websites? Cool! So has the on-going google updates affected or helped your earnings?

Are you still building sites or have you gone the PPC route with all that money to invest?

      I'll be real.

Around 10 - 20 of those sites make most of the profits.

And my top 5 make more money than all of the other websites combined.

My biggest advantage for having so many websites is the learning I gained from all of it, the amount of time I save when building websites now (I bypass the mistakes), and the experience I have earned that has helped me to find my most profitable niches.

I wouldn't advise someone to go the same route as me because we are all different.

The latest Google updates haven't affected me at all really. All of my websites are completely white-hat methods and are dedicated to solving people's problems. The biggest problem I've been faced with are recent changes to websites that I built a lot of traffic from.

In the end, it's about being consistent and staying ontop of your game.

Yes I may have made $3,000 in a day, but that's not going to happen again (it has twice since ) unless I keep going. If I give up, it'll just fade away (as it should).

      NEVER give up.

Keep pushing yourself to go further!

      Now it's your turn!

I want to hear your success stories and motivational ideas

We all have something awesome to bring to the table, even if you aren't seeing success as in money, you might be seeing it in other avenues.

Here are a few examples to look at.
      • Progress (working faster)
      • Motivation
      • Experience
      • Traffic

Those are just a few things to look out for. Even though you might not being the success you want just yet, use all of these things together.

If you want, create a graph or chart, I find that by putting things into #'s, it gives you more of a goal.

My favorite method of achieving my goals is by creating "experience points" for what I do, kind of like a game
