If someone doesn't agree with what you are saying but deep down you know you are right the best thing you can do is agree with them.

Don't spend your life trying to prove yourself right and others wrong.
Make others feel good about themselves and they will depend on you and do anything to have you around.
You can disagree with others' opinions without insisting on being "right" - but why would you want to pretend to agree just to be part of someone's circle? Sounds like the trait of a sycophant who will agree with anything for another person's approval.

If you express your own personal beliefs and opinions in a way that does not denigrate the opinions of others, you attract people around you that YOU find interesting and can be yourself with.

This doesn't make any sense for this forum or for functioning in the world at a higher level of capability than I possess alone. If no one ever shares their opinions or beliefs then how can synergy ever be captured?

Ever hear of, "To thine ownself be true"? If I believe I'm right but choose to agree with someone else, where are my principles and values? Seems absolutely absurd.

Ok, if this is the gist of the entire post I might begin to accept a bit of the philosophy. There are far more productive uses of time, resources, etc. than simply proving myself right and others wrong. I'll agree with that perspective, if that's what's meant.

Hmmm...trying to be all Zen-like or something here?

I can't buy this. Every conversation and environment I've been in shows me that intelligence perceives ignorance as ignorance. I've never known intelligence to perceive ignorance as intelligence. I can't think of a situation where that would be true.

I'm thinking Mr. Thiago has used this to increase his post count. Or, is looking to just get some extra attention for his signature line, or something. I guess if we keep replying to his post, maybe it's working. Aren't we the suckers?

I think what he meant is that it's better to just keep stump (sp?) about certain things rather than talking about them just to be "right." We all know or have known people that will argue their perspective to the point of being annoying and I suppose that's part of it too.
