Favorite Place To "Work" From

I personally like setting up my laptop on a table outside.
I find that i stay more focused and have more energy than if I were to inside.
I find that if I was to "work" inside I have an urge to turn the TV on and get side tracked. :p

So I was wondering what places do you guys personally enjoy "working" from that keep you focused so you can get something done ?

Desktop PC with dual flat screens, home-office style. All kinds of digital workspace!

With a south facing window, of course.

Interesting and your right the quotation marks reminded me that, "If you enjoy what you do, you'll never work another day in your life." -Confucius

A couple of years ago I switched from a desktop to a portable notebook, thinking how great it would be to take it anywhere in the house (or outside). Well, I soon discovered that the place I focus the best and continue to be most productive is right here in my office in a dedicated part of the house!

Elsewhere in the house or outside is too distracting, and besides, I have all my resource files, books, etc., sitting here, so I don't have to go running for them when I need to check something that's not in my computer.

However, I still love the portability of my notebook. It's easy to take when travelling, or if I have to do some client work or research in another part of town.

Usually in my home office but sometimes when I really need to focus without any distractions (noise, dogs who want my attention, etc.), I go to the public library and get a private study room. That is the most productive place for me since there are no windows, no artwork on the walls, no phones - nothing. And the wifi is crappy there so I don't go online to fool around with email or Facebook.

I also get a lot of work done on airplanes when the onboard movie stinks and the seatmates are not social

I wish I could say a coffee shop- the idea of sitting a nice, calming shop with the smell of coffee and pastries sounds ridiculously delightful.

....but what you really get (at most of the ones I've been to) is a bunch of 14-22 year olds who are always chatting, a guy video chatting and being really loud about it, and a blender running every 5-10 minutes.

So- I've come to love the office in my house.

Well, for us, we like to work in our own small rented office.
Hard to work at home with all the distractions.
When your in an office, you force yourself to work hard because the people around you are also working hard.

My home office when the kids aren't around. And, of course, Starbucks.

I always get a lot of work done on planes, too. Especially with NO wifi access. So, a little tip you can use to duplicate this when not in the air... turn off your wifi or go somewhere with no net access. Great for when you want to write or strategize and not get distracted with email, social media, etc.

Sometimes I go to the beach and work - when it's not too hot and there are not too many tourists. It can be really relaxing. I get some of my best ideas at the beach.

Could you tell me what laptop you use?

I have searched and searched and have never found one that I could see in direct sun light. I have tried the shade screens and none of them worked.

      Thanks!

I'm working in a special room which is perfectly designed to my purposes. Thanks to this I have much better effectiveness than when I worked in the room where I sleep and spend my free time. There I had problems with concentration and have procrastinated a lot.

I have two homes. I have one in South Africa and one in Belgrade, Serbia.

I have offices set up in both places. My library is my retreat in South Africa and I converted one of my bedrooms to an office in Belgrade.

I can't work in my living room, outside...etc... as I get distracted. I get up every day, get dressed up and pretend I'm going to work. That is the only way I can get work done.

I prefer home at my L-shape desk with bunch of drawers & shelves with a desktop on one part of the desk and a laptop on another and listening to some quiet music. Being outside like coffee shop, etc makes me distracted...
