Ever questioned if you are a "glass half empty or a glass half full" kind of person?

If you're worried about paying your bills, your glass could definitely seem half empty. If you think you might get laid off your job, it could definitely feel half empty.

Does that mean it really IS?

Nope.

It's a choice we make - on how we see what's in the glass... CHOOSE to see it half full.

Know why?

MORE opportunities, more value, more joy. There's more of almost everything in "half full" than in "half empty."

It's easy to think "half empty". Bills piling up, spouse, kids or boss complaining, economy going to hell in a
hand-basket - and you're trying to make ends meet.

It's really easy to get sucked into the "half empty" mindset.

It's a choice we make - on how we see what's in the glass... CHOOSE to see it half full.

The more you see it empty, the EMPTIER it will be.

I often see it as the half empty glass and in doing so I don't feel happy with my achievements and ultimately strive for more and more.

So in some cases it's not always a bad mentality, but seeing things as half full will probably make you happier in life.

I know this is psychological debate, but i though i would chime in with some logic here (i know it dousnt apply, but just to get you thinking)

If your glass is being POURED... then its halfWAY full... as in, half full,
If its being emptied, then its halfway empty... as in, half empty.

if a half glass of water is just sitting there, then it depends what you want to do with it....... if your drinking it, then its half empty, if your filling it up, then its half full.

Now, taking what I just said into account, you can learn a valuable lesson.

If you are WORKING TOWARDS your goal... I.E filling up your glass... then it will be HALF FULL.
If you are working AGAINST your goal I.E empyting your glass, then it will be half empty.

So the trick is to always be working towards your goal, always be looking for fill up the glass more, and then it will always be half full

Lets get our glasses half full guys

Nice way of looking at it. Just from experience it does seem that those who are actively working on achieving their goals seem to have better "half-full" attitudes.

I agree... i used to think it dousnt matter, but it really does.

like i said, if someone is emptying a glass, its half empty... if you are filling it up, then its half full...

make sure your always filling your glass (metaphorically speaking lol)

        Josh..

oh, and be careful you dont spill it!

very interesting lesson to learn from this...

if you are trying too hard, and can still only get your glass half full, then your goals are too big..

Try a smaller cup (smaller goals) and you will fill it or even over fill it

Ok, so what if you're pouring into your glass and it was full but it had a crack in it about half way down. Is your glass half empty, half full or in need of a master glassman who can fix it?

I think most of us want our glass to be half full, however it seems that it's always easier to assume it's half empty.

I diagree, you dont judge the size of objects by thier lack of being.

you dont judge a donut based on the size of the hole

you dont judge a chocolate bar based on the air inside the bubbles..

so dont take a half full glass of water, as half empty...

Has anyone figured out yet that none of this really matters? Platitudes are a fair substitute for understanding but they just can't replace the real thing. If you're a pessimist, then you'll be more successful with your glass half empty. If you're an optimist, then you'll be more successful with your glass half full. And if you're somewhere in the very middle then you're either enlightened or extremely confused and wondering how you got there.

Any questions, drop me a line.

Yes I always try to see it half full. That's the Law of Attention working, what you focus on, that's what you'll get.

Seeing it half full you will focus on the joy, and grattitude of the good things of your life.
So you will get more of these good things. No negative mind can see it half full, just half empty.

Great point. I rarely use the "glass half empty or half full mentality" but I like to believe mine is half full. Why? Because you have to have something that works. So saying it's half full is what I agree with. Saying it's half empty means you aren't doing something right. That's how I see it anyways.

If you see it in a "half full" perception it means that you are already fulfilled. Sometimes I just look into "half full" side as my determination to survive and fill it up.
