The Meaning Of Of Life Is...

It's Not About You

Give and you shall receive (but if you give with the motive of receiving, you are not giving, you are trading... so don't expect to receive anything.)

It's what love is all about... and it's the secret of true happiness.

Whatever religion or philosophy you subscribe to, this is in there somewhere.

What do you guys think?

Very inspiring post! You would not believe how many people in general are tuned into the what's in it for me channel. When you start to look outside of yourself, you learn so many things. Many things take on a new meaning. "We" instead of "me", what a team build is really about, and as you profoundly pointed out the real meaning of giving. To give and expect to get nothing back in return is the true spirit. If more people understood this principle, just imagine how much better the world could be.

I'm glad other people think the same way I do. I've had everything I've ever wanted in my life and more. Once you get to that point you think.. "what's next". Then you realize that there's so much more and it has nothing to do with you. I live my life by this quote..

"Only a life lived for others is worth living."

Give and sometimes you may not receive! (May not receive what you expected) I'm giving so much in my previous business; to the team and clients, and I got abandon by my partners. I walked out receiving nothing.

What I do get out was trust from my clients. They knew what I'm capable of, some of them are waiting for me to launch some ideas that can add value to them.

Life is really interesting if it will be shared to others. No man is an island, and that a man needs others to enjoy and will definitely know the real meaning of life. A man exists not only to eat, drink and sleep but more importantly, a man exists because he needs to live and search for the purpose of his existence. Life is not about fame, not about what you owned or what you can buy, life is never about money. Life is all about the meaning of our existence and how we lived and co-exists in the planet with others.
As for me, I have this philosophy that a man, when gained control of their consciousness, will try to find what his purpose will be. He would scrutinize his existence just to find the answer to the question. What is really the meaning of our existence? Simple question that is difficult to explain to people.
Remember, life as we know it, exists only once. So might as well, treasure it, enjoy it, and love it. As for the IM world, I could say that the meaning of Life in this business is to share and helped those who are in need since most of us, are also helped and aided by others.

Yes, it is true that a giver is always bigger than a receiver but it is when you are giving without expecting something in return to receive.

I can't tell you what the meaning of life is for anyone but myself, as we each must answer that question for ourselves.

I wrote this a few months back when I was asked a self soul searching question and it fits well here as well, I think.

      Who am I?

I am who I am, a wonderfully and uniquely created human being who was carefully and strategically woven together with great loving and caring hands.

I am here to be a blessing to all that I encounter, giving all that I am able with what I myself have been given. And it is my hope that I touch as many people as possible along the way whether it be easing some pain, cheering some up with just a smile, to give support, comfort, and help some to gain understanding when they feel lost, defeated or confused. And hope that in so doing, I show a glimmer of the love of my creator.

My purpose is to wisely use the gifts and talents that lie within me to not only better myself, but to help my fellow man in any way that I can, giving unselfishly when I am asked and even when I am not if I see a need, but also having the wisdom to know when some would take advantage of it and gently ease out of that situation trying not to offend, and yet recognizing at times I must stand up in righteous indignation.

I am traveling down the path that I have been set upon intent on fulfilling all that I have been commissioned to do so that when my journey here is through, I can be rewarded with the words, Well done! I am continually going to the next level as I learn and implement and share the lessons on the present one.

All of this pertains to my personal life as well as in the business world. It is the same in both for I am who I am...

Love is endeed the most powerful energy and emotion one can feel.

When you love incondicionally you are being divine.

Only through love can someone really help the world.

This reminds me of a poem:

You need not see what someone is doing
To know if it is his vocation

You have only to watch his eyes
    A cook mixing a sauce, a surgeon

    Making a primary incision,
A clerk completing a bill of landing

Wear the same rapt expression, forgetting
    Themselves in a function

    How beatiful it is
    The eye-on-the-object look

    By W.H.Auden

For how do we define ourselves if not with relation to the other people, those we love, those we hate, those we are indifferent with.

We can only live FOR the other.
And I am who I am because of the people I choose to love.

I see a grain of truth in what you and others are saying, however, "love"
has many different meanings to different people and in every case, love
is just another elixir which blurs one's vision. Unconditional acceptance
of every person, place, and thing would be more effective at obtaining
    a genuine inner happiness.

Life, (human existance), does not come with a meaning, but people can
put a meaning on it if they choose.

Poetry is nice, but it's just poetry.

Why is giving and helping others so important?

It is not for the giving, itself, it is because when we are helping others,
we have FINALLY got our attention off of our self. There is a release
of "weight" when that happens. With that release comes less stress
and clearer thinking; cleaner thinking not muddied with fears,
and sometimes, if lucky, comes clearer intuition; which is true wisdom.

    imo,

You've got a point here when you say that love has different meanings (maybe I should start at thread on the meaning of "love"!) There are different types of love: romantic, emotional, logical.

In my experience love is a decision, not an emotion because when the emotional warmth wears off because of conflict or just familiarity, you have to decide whether you are going to put the other person(s) needs above yours. Even when you don't feel like, and maybe logic says that you shouldn't.

Also, unconditional acceptance of everything can be dangerous. There are many people out there who don't have your best interest in mind. True love is valuable and important and should be given carefully.

Yes, that is reality, that is the way it is, and I accept it.

I know people who do NOT accept that. They want to think that everyone
is filled with love and kindness.

Acceptance, as I am using it, does not mean to be a submissive Caspar
Milquetoast, it means to take reality the way it is, logically, without any
strings attached. It's an objective rather than subjective approach.

I am not saying acceptance is the only path. I am saying that it's one
path to inner happiness and inner peace, and that it is a shorter, more
direct path than the highly touted, but illusury roller coaster path of love.

This is a perfect example of giving without any expectation of receiving something in return: 1 Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia: 2 that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality. 3 For I bear witness that according to their ability, yes, and beyond their ability, they were freely willing, 4 imploring us with much urgency that we would receive the gift and the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.

  • For me is very simple,

Life is about enjoying what the thing you want, what you suppose to be , and what you want to be , but NOT what you have to be, what you should do.....

Life also about give , you give how many and you will receive how many. Life is inspired always from the surrounding, from the environment , and make the who you are.

As it happens, my blog post yesterday was on this topic. It's here ...

    What is Life About?

There are many things that might give meaning to an individual's life even if one were to reject the idea that life has an intrinsic meaning.

My own view is that we are here to leave our mark on the world, to make a difference and to leave the world a slightly better place for future generations.
