Cooperation or Confrontation

Newspapers, news broadcasts, magazines, blogs, local talk, and even sermons have recently been focusing on the state of the economy and how desperate times are now. There are also lots of ideas about things that can be done to improve our economy and the position of the United States in the world economy. However, it seems that all we get is talk. I wish people, and I include myself in this, would quit talking and start acting.

I recently listened to a speech given by former President Clinton in which he discussed one way of responding to improve the state of the economy. To paraphrase what he said: we have to focus on cooperation, not on conflict. Currently, the focus of our politicians is on what has worked for them in the past - conflict, not on what will work for our economy - cooperation. He went on to state that there are lots of places in our country where there is low unemployment, where housing prices are stable, where there is a high rate of growth, and where there is a shortage of skilled workers. What makes these places unique is that they have formed networks of cooperation.

How does this apply to us as Internet Marketers? We may all be more effective in our marketing efforts if we focus on cooperation among ourselves and look at providing resources that will help to improve the lives of our clients and improve the state of the economy.

You know something Nancy, there is tremendous power in cooperative Internet marketing. There was/is a nascent effort in our group for about four to six members to get together and pool their resources. I was in on the ground floor of the planning, but I believe the V2 launch will be the optimal time to flesh this effort out. Theoretically it should be a no-brainer because of the exponential combinative effect that putting together a number of gold systems would produce for SEO and backlinking.
I would like to see us become more forthcoming to each other on some of the products we are dealing with so that we could re-stimulate the group effort, not merely with downlines, but among peers who stand to dramatically benefit from a co-operative effort.
I suppose we would have to adopt the roles of politicians though, since the IM arena is full of more or less fiercely independent types. But a resulting, comfortable residual income ought to be able to persuade the reluctant ones to open their minds to the possibility.
One crucial matter is taking the initiative to make the initial steps. That's what leadership entails. You have to step out of the comfort zone a bit to make the inquiries and persuasions a collaborative effort requires. However it can be exhilarating and fun to do, especially if you have some familiarity with your prospects/ co-workers, sort of in that order. And more so since you know that those with whom you are dealing will have the best motivation and perspective to embrace a corporate effort- our fellow Internet Marketers!
So let's see if we can put some flesh on the bones of your post and make some rather more concrete than tentative strides in the near future to release the power of cooperative marketing.

I think this ties into karma. You get what you give. It is so true and profound, and yet people forget all the time. Sometimes when I am treated poorly by a clerk in a store, instead of getting upset I softly tell them, "Remember that you get what you give." This has worked wonders in certain situations.

Of course, some people just get more upset; they are the ones who blame everyone and the whole world for their problems. It's never their attitude or choices that are causing them grief. They just have a longer way to go to find their peace.

It ends well. You know that, right?

The economic is hurt so bad, because everyone just think what is in for them and how much they can get out without giving or doing to improve their situation. You always get what you give because you must earn the reward, that why so many people falling into poverty, because they think other should pay for them. But it is written, that they even will lose that little bit what they have. So it is time for people to wake up and do what ever needs to be done to get successful and multiply what they have, and before you know the economic will become healthy again.

That why rich people get richer and poor people get poorer, but everyone has the opportunity to change their lives by taking massive action.

Well said "If you dont work you dont eat!" Is another way to look at it! Our government is so dysfunctional looking for ways to make everyone equal...Not recognizing that spiritual laws are in affect If a man plants the seed, works the ground, He should have a right to the prosperity of the harvest & if he chooses to give the 4 corners to the needy, well that's another spiritual law. That is his choice....It should not be the governments business! Ahhhh but then there is greed in the land as well !

        Proverbs 28:19 (NKJV)
19 He who tills his land will have plenty of bread, But he who follows frivolity will have poverty enough!

Lazy people want what you have & live with excuses. Wise people work!

Boxing is confrontation with another body's motion, Jujitsu is cooperation with another body's motion. Both have one objective, one way just does it easier and with less effort.
