Task Management Tool - what should it be like?

Hey everyone,

i am looking desperately for a tool to manage my tasks on a daily basis.

All the productivity tools are neat, but most of them (and especially all that would be suitable for me) are online. Nevertheless i want my privacy, my thoughts just on my hard disk.

If there are any existing programs i dont know yet, feel free to correct.

So probably i will develop my own alternative "productivity/task management" Tool. With many of you having experience using such tools, i wanted to ask:

What features would be the most important for you to manage your daily work / personal life?

    I use online tools such as ApolloHQ and 5PMweb. If I do decide to have my tasks managed in real life or off the computer, I tend to go old school. I grab my organizer and scribble some notes.

    I use Time Doctor and ApolloHQ. But, yes, I agree with Illuminations. It's way better to go old school and do some scribbling.
