is it considered socially weird to post success quotes on facebook?

Whenever I see a good quote, or a spiritual quote, or something that has the potential to help people, I have this automatic thinking that I want to post this on facebook. It's like a habit to me. I think this may do more harm than good for myself for these reasons:

1. Giving unsolicited advice is not a good thing. By posting quotes on facebook, I'm assuming the vast majority of people need help, while they may not.

2. I don't want to be seen as a guru. Someone who's better than almost everyone else.

3. Very few people comment on the quotes (I have over 300 friends)

What do you guys think?

Start a group, post your quotes to the group.

Tell your friends that you are not going to "bother" them with any more quotes,
BUT if they enjoyed them they can still get them by joining your new group.

Create a website Think about it. If you can provide people with inspiration, why not share it on a domain that you personally own?

    Process:

    1. Get a domain from Godaddy.
    2. Host it on HostGator.
    3. Install WordPress.
    4. Start building!

One of my friends does this all the time and he gets tons of likes on them. haha. But then again he is a successful business man so that may be the reason why.

I've had the opposite thing happen... I post something that I found inspirational every other day... sometimes just a quote, sometimes a few paragraphs. These types of posts get a moderate amount of likes and comments... more attention than a post about what I had for tea would get.

I've had one friend publicly post that she wants to change her life and listed her goals and plan, then told me I was one of the most inspirational people she has met. Some people have noticed my types of posts and hooked me up with similar-minded people on Facebook (I see these people post inspirational things every day and get tons of 'likes').

I think when you're genuine about it and just want to help inspire your friends when you yourself have been inspired, it works. It sounds like you are genuine in your posts, you're not trying to come across as a guru. From my experience the people who tend to comment on these posts are often the ones who don't need to hear them... they already 'get' it.

In summary, I think in my rambling I'm trying to say I think it's a good idea. A lot of it may depend on how you interact with your Facebook friends.

  • Just keep on posting if that feels good and right thing you to do. People learn what they are ready to learn. Some quotes gets more attention than others. Just keep on rolling

I think this is a good Idea. Just post it, there are so many things on Facebook which are unnessecary, but people still post it. So why not something what 1. helps yourself(getting out of the head) and 2. maybe somebody else too who is reading it! You never know when your not try it.

I suggest you create a website with related niche of your interest. This is more interesting than on Facebook. People will probably check you site if your advise is good.

I've also posted many success quotes, and they often get a lot of likes. Positive statements inspires people, so it can benefit possibly everyone. If they don't care about it, they'll just gloss over it. At the very least, it will inspire people to consider more possibilities.
