you cannot sign up to an affiliate offer and expect that it wlll just start selling and making you money. This, along with anything else on the internet requires promotion. My company is ION Advertising, and we offer resources both paid and free. You can buy membership to our system, to promote your affiliate links, we can do all the promotion foryou, or you can purchase low cost marketing software. Our marketing tutorial series might be of interest to you. This covers all the 'guru' secret methods of establishing your particular brand awareness, which in turn creates traffic and sales. It only costs $10 for instant access, to all videos, and offers resale rights as well. This is only one of many tools offered through my business for your success. please come take a lookgo to google and just type in ion ads, you'll find uskim

I am doing mobile campaigns and just wasted $60 to earn just $8 or 9. Created sites but no profit. I want to know your experiences.

Lots of empathy. I think we all have managed to burn thru small and big money in order to learn things never are what are promised....they're only what we experience.

So look at the $60 as an extremely cheap price if it ensures you don't spend money for no returns in the future (my cost was 23K!).

With that out of the way, here's what I would do if I were you.

1.) Read *all* the tutorials I can find about affiliate marketing.

Internet Marketing Strategies » Affiliate Marketing Tutorial | How Does Affiliate Marketing Work
Affiliate Marketing Basics | Affiliate Marketing For Beginners - Part 1 Tutorial | Heron Academy Lab

2.) Then I'd narrow it down a bit and explore the mobile aspects of affiliate marketing:

Affiliate Tips: Why You Should Consider Mobile Marketing
The small business guide to mobile affiliate marketing | Smarta

3.) Then I'd sit down and say to meself:

"Self, hmmm. It looks like I need money pages and perhaps build a resource site and maybe generate traffic......what of these requirements can I do *now*?"

4.) Next, I'd start scouring the forums for resources on whatever #3 revealed.

If I decided I wanted to learn how to drive traffic to mobile affiliate offers, I'd look for free guides on, well, driving traffic first. Something perhaps like

77 Ways To Get Free Traffic

It's by Allen Gardyne and you receive it when you sign up for his newsletter:

      Glowing testimonials

5.) Then I'd start marketing my mobile affiliate programs.

      Not before.

It's like trying to secure an admissions at Princeton University without having passed your GED first.

Do the boring legwork/gruntwork/research *first*....and success will be a wee bit easier in the end.

      Hope that helps!

        Very good points!

One item that helped me consult others is QuantCast or Alexa sites where you can enter a domain and pull demographics on the main user of that site (IE single mom, 25-45, X amount of expendable income) and find sites they click afterward and piece together how they relate.

Pretty much what I am saying, is you have to know your market before you can approach them. If you were selling witch craft ideas for example you wouldn't go into my Congregational church and assume to make sales - follow me?

Take barblings advice, couple it with mine, and you should see slightly improved results!

Pick something, learn the basics of it, and only focus on that. For instance, I do ClickBank sites. I learned the basics of setting up a very BASIC site and autoresponder series. Once it was up I would spend 3/4 of my time driving traffic and 1/4 improving on things. For instance, my squeeze page was very simple and plain. I fixed it up AFTER I had already been driving traffic. The key is to be actively working on your site. Sure, maybe a few people didn't sign up because they didn't like my page, but at least I got them to the site in the first place. That is progress!

Feel free to PM me and I can help you out if you are doing something I have experience in, otherwise I can direct you towards some great info.

Well, you couldn't be in a better place for information than here. Many of us have tried and failed at many different things, and spent money on products that either don't work, or will only work if you were the luckiest person in the world. In my opinion, if it sounds too good to be true, then it is. You need to spend time building your site. It wont get results right away, otherwise the whole world would be doing it. As others have said, market the site, build links, build a reputation, build a list, then in time the money will come, and because you have done all this work, the money will continue to come.

The best thing you can do for yourself is learn everything you can about IM. You could continue to throw caution to the wind and try to learn from your own mistakes, but you know what's better? Learning from the mistakes and successes of others.

Dude...or dudette....If it makes you feel any better, I spent 10 yrs before I made any amount of money that was worth mentioning.

I remember one Xmas period where I work my butt off the whole December, spent money on a course, much more than $60 and finally it all paid off, after working and learning 14-16 hrs a day, I finally made money!
How much you ask?..... you ready...(Drum roll....) 25 CENTS!

    YAA.......wait a minute.....WHAT!?

Needless to say I was crushed, confused, flabbergasted, so I gave the whole thing up, but I am here now.

    Here is the thing:

When it comes to online marketing most of us think that by buying a $27-$97 course will make us millionaires, well let me ask you this; when you enroll in any career program, be it a community college, private college, or even a trade, do you think you can learn it by studying a $97 dollar course, learn in one night and be up and running making buckets of money?

More over would you trust or pay a doctor that learned that way and then went to work on you.

Think about what you are trying to accomplish.
    1. A new set of skills (many)
    2. A new and success BUSINESS

Most careers take 3-4 years just to study it, costs you between $30,000 - $200,000+ to do it and when you get out there in the market place, there is no guarantee that you'll be employed, I know a few MBA's with SBA's (Small Bank Accounts) :p

and a BIZ takes 3-5 years to mak it work, it takes a lot more money, sometimes in the millions, and on top of that it has a 95% failure rate. Yet you see successful business owners all around you.

I know I am talking a lot, but my hope is that I have given you some perspective, online marketing is an extremely cheap business and career to pursue, but it does have it's learning curve and you will have to spend money to do it.

I can tell you what NOT to do.

DO NOT JUMP FROM PRODUCT TO PRODUCT all the time, buy a few and stick to them in an strategic way.

Last but not least, the first time I ever made any money was with offline local businesses, it's a lot less competition, and a lot less hassle to get the ball rolling and get some good cash in your pocket.

Having said that, one of your best friends is a PR company, their clients come to them all the time asking for website builders or social media managers all the time

Hope this helps in any way.

PS: I don't want to depress you by how much money I've spent doing this, and I can assure you I am not the only one. Don't be emotional with your money be a business person.

PS2: Odds are you are trying to make make money in the "Make Money Niche" stay away from that one in the beginning, it is one of the most competitive ones, unless of course you have some good connections.

    Take care

What a fantastic way to explain everything!! I totally empathize with you - I too spent a LOT of money on courses and a few dollars here and there, nothing concrete...

...so I did what I should have done in the first place - leveraged my existing skills as a writer to make money...and again I started on tiny amounts, working like the clappers trying to make a few dollars here and there...

In the end, I made a LOT of mistakes, and turned to professional coaching (which at the time I had to borrow money from family to do), but you know what? It was TOTALLY worth EVERY penny.

I'm now a copywriter and make more than enough to look after my kids (I'm a single mom with two young kids and I just recently separated from my worse half and moved out).

So, rather than trying to focus on making quick money, do you have a skill you could use to make money instead?

As soon as I stopped chasing passive wealth, and started applying what I knew to create my own real, cash generating business, I stopped wishing and started living!

      best of luck!
      Arfa

Study and learn about Internet Marketing. There are sources that free of charge. Be resourceful and you will surely find the right way.

Lots of good info here. I like what Abby said: Study and learn. Don't run after easy money. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. The lust for money can turn your life into a frustrating mess. Get good at something, then do it with passion, but don't turn your back on family, friends, God in order to make a lot of money. Do not fear; if you seek the right thing, it will come.
