Not arguing with people over the internet

It's just the internet!
I had to actually learn this trait... Social networking sites makes people get very personal. I had to remember I'm running a business and had to become SUPER thick skin towards negative opinions but yet smart enough to still listen to honest criticism... It's a well learned trait and I'm glad I learn it...

The more popular your website get, the more "haters" you'll get... (especially from rivals)

I agree with having the super thick skin and walking away from potential brawls. even on the internet.

And as for the rivals, turn the other side and just do your thing and make sure you do it very well.

Don't count your rivals, but rather count your blessings. Focus on your products and services and your customers. Don't let them think you don't value them.

    Oh lordy lordy haha.

I have a fanpage of almost 47,000 fans and tons of others that deal with exactly what you are talking about.

I will say viral traffic is amazing, because they will find almost every problem with a page and report it. But there are definitely some people out there that just want to be complete %#@!wads.

No matter the scenario, if they aren't the type of people I feel comfortable around, or others don't feel comfortable with, I end up banning them.

Even if it's in my own courses, they tend to bring down vibes, cause drama, and ultimately make everyone feel like they are wasting time.

Social is amazing, I've seen it's effects on my niches, but it can also cause a lot of problems just like you said and it's tough to hold back. But remember, you have to stay happy. We work online so that we can live without the problems of a regular job (well most of us). If someones going to pay me even $497/mo but be a pain... I'll gladly refund them and I have XD.

In the end, a majority of the people I have come across are pretty awesome and don't cause any issues, so why let 1 person ruin it for everyone else?

I personally never pay attention to nobody who is negative.I leave them spill their venom at me but only react to substantive matter.
And yes,the more your site gets popular, the more the haters. Your competitors in particular seek to hit you where it hurts. So growing thick skin is key.

Hey, GGurls, I really appreciate your perspective and attitude on this.

People seem to be naturally confrontational, and on the Internet they feel shielded from all sense of responsibility for their words and actions. We need more people who control their emotions and react in a responsible, respectful, professional manner.

There are people who take things on the net personal and say bad things towards another person not thinking about other people who might read their comments but cannot handle personal confrontations.
