Minimize your exposure to negativity.

Hey.

A wise man (John Reese among others) once said that in order to think positively, you need to minimize exposure to negativity.

Does anybosy have any good advice about how to actually DO this while I'm trying to escape the rat race?

I get a lot of negativity from my job, and my family members aren't very supportive about the dreams of another way.

    • Your feelings about changing your life are a bit like your feelings about a new religion -- no matter how good or excited it makes you feel on the inside, most people don't care and they don't want to hear about it.

You probably can't quit your job. And you probably don't want to quit your family. Sometimes incubating our ideas and actions until they're ready to hatch is the best way to protect them.

Maybe you can treat your aspirations like a hobby. Like something you do alone in the basement until you've got something you can proudly show off.

And of course, seek out positive reinforcement from places like this.
