Stop Waiting... You Already Have Marketable Knowledge

I want to talk about the dynamics of being an information marketer. The cool thing is that virtually every single entrepreneur in the world today has the ability to make money online.... whether they run an online business or not.


For example, I have made money showing small business owners how to manage their own WordPress site. It was a logical step for me to take after taking some time to learn WordPress for myself.


In the same light, a plumber could use a cheap digital camera to shoot a series of simple do-it-yourself videos that he sells to the average home owner to solve minor plumbing issues. It is his knowledge that he packages and distributes in exchange for some kind of fee.


The cool thing is, we ALL have knowledge about something and there are many other people out there who would like to access that knowledge. We can get paid for sharing it... and the best part... you DON'T have to wait for permission to do this:

        I would just like to add this little point: Info that is worth $$$, is worth $$$.

        What does this mean? It means that people want to buy info that will actually help them make money in the end. And if you can package and sell that kind of info, it's gonna bring you money as well for sure.

  • People pay for what solves a problem. When my elderly father got very sick and passed on I was desperate for care taking information; information I was willing to pay for. So it's not always about how to make money people pay for. It's anything that solves an urgent problem.

    Most new infopreneurs undervalue their worth. A great process to go through is to write a success list of all you have done in a specific area to achieve your own outcome. How long did it take you, how much did you invest to learn the information, what did you have to do to achieve the outcome. When you do this you often see what you know IS worth charging for.

      Great point Kathleen. I think of the times when I was preparing to speak in public (which I do a lot). There were many times where it was last minute and I didn't have time to prepare. I had to get ready SUPER quick and I figured out some cool techniques. I could sell those techniques to other people who have an urgent talk they aren't prepared for.

      Yeah great point. And just because the info may seem basic to you, there are likely plenty of people who don't have that knowledge and it may mean profits for them to have it... so bill them for it

    Good points: Even some of the newest members here will soon know more than the vast majority of brick & mortar businesses. This knowledge is valuable and people are more than willing to pay for results, especially if you can provide results in advance up front.

      TOTALLY!! Offline marketing is, in my opinion, the best place to get started because it forces you to learn a lot of different business skills...
      - Pre-sales
      - Post-sales
      - Creating proposals/solutions
      - Plus IM stuff like SEO, Social Media, PPC, Mobile, etc....

      Hey Femi great to see you again. You're totally right. None of it has to be all that complicated. In fact, very often less is more. Just taking action on things you already know how to do can be powerful.

      Good point. So the question then becomes... what are you doing to increase your confidence? That is a totally different discussion but if confidence is your issue, make the choice today to start improving it by any means necessary.

      Well said man. I think the whole "waiting for validation" issue stops a lot of people from taking action. The most successful people are usually also the most bold.
