Will Power Is Your Best Friend in Internet Marketing

Here is something I wrote to motivate myself to produce content on daily basis in order to take my Internet business to a much higher level. All others might find it useful. Hope it helps a few individuals.

I will write articles daily. Will power is my friend which will help me. I have to really force myself to do it. It is important for my business. If I write more and if I write well, I can sell more products. If I sell more products, then I can make more money. More money is what all businessmen are after, is it not? So, don't I have to force myself to write more articles?

I am involved in online marketing and so I should realize the importance of creating high quality, useful content on regular basis. I have to create content on massive scale. Keep on creating more and more content. Provide awesome value to my readers. Keep them begging for more.

All bloggers and internet marketers are in the manufacturing business. We need to manufacture lots and lots of content for our readers. Just like a factory mass produces thousands and thousands of items for sale and distribution, we need to produce hundreds or thousands of articles for distribution. Distribution can mean posting the articles on our websites, blogs or on other people's sites in order to increase exposure and attract traffic to us. Again, other people's sites may mean many things - article directories, guest blogging, web 2.0 sites, forums, yahoo answers, video sites. Basically, it means any site where we can put our content and attract some traffic from there to our own sites or products.

Think of yourself as a factory or as a machine. Your machine produces content just as some other machine produces something else.

Notice that I am saying we need to produce content. I am not merely saying we need to write articles. Because in today's high-tech world, content can come in several forms. It can be an audio, a video, powerpoint presentation, quiz, quotes and more. It need not always be a written article. But written content is still one of the most powerful method of presenting information even in today's world. It has not lost its place.

If we produce mass content, 2 things are going to happen - first of all people will love us. We are continuously providing them valuable tips and information on topics of their choice. They will flock to our sites and recommend them to their friends. Secondly, Google will love your sites too. It will love you because it is hungry for more information.

We all have appetites. When we feel hungry, we need to eat something to satisfy that hunger. Google's hunger is not satisfied with food but with content - lots of it. Its hunger is not like ours which can be easily and quickly satisfied. Google has an unending hunger for as much content as you can provide it. It will gobble it all up and still be very hungry. Though you cannot fully satisfy Google's hunger, but you can make it keep coming to you as you feed it with original content.

The more original your content is, the more useful it is for readers, and the more you can provide it that much more Google love you can get. You will stand out and get more attention because you have the ability to produce Google's food more than other manufacturers.

But how can you have the stamina to keep on producing quality content at such rate? The simple answer is - use your will power. It is one of your greatest asset. Learn to use it.

Will power can help you maintain your focus. It will help you in working towards your vision and achieving your goals. It will help you sit down and write, when the day is bright and sun is shining in all its glory outside. It will help you write, when you are in a foul mood and had just quarreled with your wife.

Like any muscle of the body, will power grows stronger when you use it. Just like muscles of the body become strong when you work them out or lift weight, so is the case with will power. If you use it, it will continue to become stronger; otherwise it will remain weak.

Do you think you have weak will power?
Worry not, we all have a small switch inside our bodies. Lets call it the 'Will Power Switch'. You just need to turn it on and as a bulb glows when you turn on the switch, you will find your will power suddenly dictating terms to you.

However, initially, its impact will be small and weak. Like a faulty bulb which does not glow brightly, so will be your will power. But with repeated use, it will grow - unlike the bulb which will become dim with repeated use.

I think one of the helpful ways to improve desire/willpower would be to envision yourself as already having achieved your goal(s) and feeling happy as you envision it.

nice thread, totally true, only will power is best helping hand in internet marketing. low will power means slow work, slow work means failure to achieve goals and failure means no money, no money brings disappointment.

I totally agree about the consistent, disciplined approach to writing. Knock it out every day! I just read a post by some author about how he disciplines himself to crank out 2500-3000 words first thing every morning. If you have promotional channels set up to immediately cash in on what you produce, that motivates me more than anything to consistently produce.

I'm not a big fan of Willpower, though, as I find myself "forcing" myself to do all the things I "should" be doing and that mindset is too guilt-based and self-vs-self for my taste at present.

I'm leaning more now towards spending regular time visualizing the achievement of my goals and listening to affirmations while doing deep relaxation. Over time I get more passionately committed to my goals and every step of the way become something I can't WAIT to do, not HAVE to do.

Hi I like your content writing post. I actually have a daily goal for how much content I need to produce. I generally manage to hit it and provided that I do I find that the rest of my business and financial affairs keep moving along pretty smoothly.

I would say though I much less of a believer of "willpower" after reading The Power of Full engagement. I think developing habits is actually much more effective for achieving your goals than forcing yourself to do something.

The will discpline yourself uses energy. Creating habits lets you achieve the same results without the same expansion of energy.

What you said about habits and rituals is spot on. If we develop the habit, then we don't have to force ourselves to do a thing. So, we no longer need to exercise will power in that. However, initially, we need use will power to do a thing repeatedly until it becomes a habit.

I do agree that the "will power" is the best weapon to achieve our goals. It is assured that in order for us to attain our goals, there will be rocks along the way. It is 100% sure that it will never be a smooth ride to the top. This is where the "will power" steps in. It just jumpstarts you again where you left off. No matter what hardships you are going through if you have the willpower, you are almost assured that you will be back on track again.

By constant practice your inner power grows, just like exercising your muscles at a gym increases your physical strength. In both cases, when you need inner power or physical strength, they are available at your disposal.

    Here are a few exercises:
    - Don’t read the newspaper for a day or two.
    - Drink water when thirsty, in spite of your desire to have a soft drink.
    - Walk up and down the stairs, instead of taking the lift.
    - Get down from the bus one station before or after your destination, and walk the rest of the way.
    - For one week, go to sleep one hour earlier than usual.
    - If you like ice cream, don’t have any, for a day or two.

All of us have will power, but not all exercise it to the degree that you do.
Perhaps you might give some insight as to why you are able to do what
so many others are unable to do.

I think this was a great post, and reflects exactly what I believe is necessary for success! I also believe that forming habits makes achieving the goal necessary, but I for one know that it takes a lot of willpower for me to form those habits. Thanks for sharing.

Content rules and persistence is the name of the game (unless of course you outsource it )

When I'm feeling sluggish I read a quote that's stuck to my office wall: "The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will."

Bam! Helps keep me focussed and on track.
