Why 95% of people fail online!

Making money online doesn't take luck. In fact you don't even have to be the smartest guy in the world. All you really need is knowledge and the will to succeed.

Find someone or something that will legitimately teach you how to make money online.
Make a schedule of when your going to work online.
Make goals of what you want to achieve.
Stick with it!
After a few months you will start to see money come in. 95% of people fail online because they quit way to soon. TRUST ME it takes time to plant your crops and see them grow. It is well worth it at the end when your enjoying your bounty. (cash baby!)

Cheers to your success!

Such Excellent advice! its too easy to jump into everything and anything when you are new to the online business world....I know I've been there myself. Money back guarantee is a huge priority because at least you know that if you give it your all and dont succeed with the methods provided then you can get your money back.

Sometimes we all have to go through trial and error until we find good solid materials and mentorship to guide us on the right path. Armed with the knowledge and mindset + time tested proven techniques to make money online anyone can be successful.

I am so grateful that I have been through this process and have recently found everything I was looking for...

        Have a great day....

Motivation, Consistency lacking the most & T?ime. If you decide that you don't want to learn anything from internet marketing, you can simply set up an autoresponder , continue to collect email addresses, when you have built up a few list, simply send them affiliate offers. I dont think its knowledge, too much knowledge actually causes a person to have information overload which leads to overwhelm, which leads to inaction.

I am not saying dont buy courses, actually you do not have to buy anybody's course not even mine to profit from the Internet. If you are a reader of this forum, you should know enough to simply start building a list & communicating with them

Hello Ytmarketing, thanks for starting this awesome Topic

Many struggling in network marketing industry, using ineffective techniques that just plain DON'T WORK...

Some of the Internet Marketers fail to profit massively online because they have this old school sales mentality.

Many people were taught to go out and sale others our products, rather than using Attraction Marketing without prospecting, cold-calling, buying leads, chasing family & friends.

To be successful online, we have to first build relationship, help others to solve their problem, by default (Law of Reciprocity), all wealth and abundance will just attract to us effortlessly without we ask for it

Friends, thanks for sharing your precious knowledge and experience here. I learn a lot from this Forum. This Forum is just a wonderful Forum, full of like-minded people wth great outlook of life.
I am so blessed to connect with many positive, successful people here, thanks!

I have been cheated a few times by some "big names" in this biz. And I mean really cheated (not disappointed or I didn't do the work... cheated).

To the point where I almost needed to call on the State AG's office.

However, I have found some teachers who are awesome and willing to show me the way. Find a good and honest teacher. (And be sure to pay with a credit card!)

      teacher.
I have similar experience as well. From a millionaire. I even related those marketers that promote his stuff or even mention him as friend ( I know this is a bit bias, but I suppose it is human nature )

There are always good and nice marketers around

      Shawn,

you just nailed the point here - consistency is the key to success.
the one example that is ingrained for me was someone explaining the importance of consistency with an example of McD - yep, McDonald's.

The gist of it is this, we all 'opt' for McDonald's even though we know that its 'bland' - but we still opt because we know its going to be the same if you buy in NY or CA.

reason we don't try the 'local' burger joint is we don't know whats its going to taste like, or if it will taste 'similar' the next day.

Moral of the story - you can be hugely successful even you provide 'mediocre' service as long as its consistent.

I don't know if I'd call it failure, maybe "95% lack focus".

You've got to get something done everyday. You've got to make *some* progress.

You should start with small steps. Look at the 5 star books on amazon in marketing/sales. The reviews do the work for you. Get introduced to authors, read them, get familiar.

Reading something once and expecting to make money is crazy. Lack of repetition is something I see a lot of online. How many threads do you see..."the 8th time I read Scientific Advertising, this thought came out". Or the 5th time I listened to Dan Kennedy, Gary Halbert, etc...boy I had this revelation. It's going to help me fill this piece of the puzzle.

A quote by someone (Halbert?), more is accomplished through movement than through meditation. The 95% that "fail"...too much meditation?

And you actually have to do real work.

If you wrote down what you accomplished each day, each week. And were specific. I think you could be very successful in 4 months, 6 months, 2 years. But you've got to get specific things done and make gains.

Then I asked myself..that same question. I realized that if I had a problem..then others did too...and I started concentrating on how to help people just get started...put on a set of blinders to the distractions of the Launch of the Century, and start making SOME money....not $1000 day...just SOME money....once you do that consistently by finding out the problems people are having and helping them solve them...it just gets easier and easier.

I have a different pair of eyes now..I can see opportunities that I could not before.
I think it's fairly easy, at least relative to other jobs that pay less and are more stressful (say, dealing with the public everyday working retail or something).

The key is, you just have to make some sort of gain or distinction, or advancement everyday, every few days. Nothing will happen without discipline.

When you do this on your own, It is hard. I found you can not be good at everything!
I'm sales. The techie stuff that is vital. I outsourced to a friend. College kids are best.
So my advice is. Don't try and do it all. Do the bits your good at.
      Outsource the bits you don't.

Believe in yourself and read, I am new too, and its really easy to get discouraged, We just have to remember that MOST people are slow to start, the only ones who have made it fast have all written books for us to buy!!! (and they've usually spent years struggling BEFORE their overnight success too)
I have recently written a short (free) article that may help you... I can't post a link 'cos I'm new here, http : // bit. ly/zUoHM so if you copy and past this into your browser then take out the spaces it should work.

      Hello Omari Taylor here,

Great post. You are absolutely right. If you press on for a few month and stay consistent you will see result and reach you goals. An I know because I'm speaking from experience. I got lucky and meet the right people earily in my online career who actually taught me things for free free. Actually I started marketing when I signed up for this forum and I had my breakout month in November and haven't looked back since. Courses are great and help a lot but, to go to that next level you really need a mentor showing you step by step. I totally agree with this great post and I wish everyone the best.

Focus and commitment is the key factors for making money online, as people inclined to see fast cash...as it will come but you need to be very focus and need to work atleast 3-4 hours on building empire....do remember Rome was not build in a night. To build your own internet money making empire will take focus and hardwork.

First of all, remember not to just chase numbers. If you start chasing numbers and the promise of "making $100,000 per day", that's where you get caught in the trap. You will be going in circles for years chasing numbers.

Figure out what your strengths are and what your weaknesses are first.

Think about what you would be comfortable doing and not doing.

Lot's of Physical typing involved? Lots's of analyzing involved? Big learning curve?

Alot of times other marketers just tell you to "go long" for a touchdown, and they dont mention the huge defensive line that comes in the form of domains, hosting, copy writing, PPC, video creation, social websites, listbuilding, outsourcing and such.

Here is a model you can think about while you try on different marketing shoes to see what fits right.

What if you contacted 30 established marketers and asked them if they could do it all over again what would they do differently to get the success they have all over again?

Now some will totally ignore you, some will tell you to go pound sand, and some will give you some of the greatest advice you never paid for!

Let's just say you get 6 good responses out of 30. You now have a product. It could be in print from the emails you got, or you can have audio.

And once you offer these marketers a % of profits, they will even help you market it with already established email lists.

OK, this is just an example of how to think creatively online. Good luck.

Just keep visiting the forum, apart from anything you do in terms of reading and researching. I started working actively on exactly the 30th Dec. 2008. I have learnt so much, free of course. Information overload may be bad they say, but for me, i find it beneficial. Why i say this is because after going round in circles, trust me, i was learning along the way.
Just read and read and research. You may think its way above your head, but it will not be. Your subconcious soaks it up. This forum is absolutely great for info.
THE FINAL MOST IMPORTANT PART, fixing together the pieces of the puzzle so as to get a move on.
You then need a "hold my hand and guide me along" so i can start work.
Good news, there are members on this forum who can now lead you step-by-step along the way. You start of your own site, you are on your way to generate 'you know what'. And it will in many cases cost you 'a song'.

Whatever you read, learn or even stumble accross will never come to waste.
      Be determined. Thats all.
      Good luck and GodBless.

"Foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds"

Consistently jumping from one idea/technique/trick/guru/system/etc. to another is FOOLISH.

Spend enough time on WF to get a feel for what resonates with you. Then do it over and over again until you have it mastered. Then, try again with another concept... eventually, you will have mastered several major styles and you will be successful.

If you look around, there are tons of FREE step by step guides on WF, so there is no excuse.

    Just persist.

Finding a good teacher/trainer CAN shorten the learning curve, so be on the lookout for one that "feels" right for you. But, follow their advice until you have mastered their system.

So many helpful posts. It definitely is a mix of persistence, focus, and (for me) switching from the mind set of an opportunity seeker to a business owner.

Multi-tasking is over-rated. Focus on one thing and get it done.
LOA, metaphysics, meditation all that stuff is great. If you don't take action, it doesn't mean squat.

If you really want this, don't give up. You might fail a bunch along the way(be willing to screw up daily!) But it can and will come together if you
    are committed.

Here's what one of my mentor's calls the "formula to success":

    Success = Skills x Action

If you go back to algebra...
If skills stays constant, Success goes up at the same rate as Action goes up. (and holds true with less action = less success)
If Action stays constant, Success goes up at the same rate as Skills go up.

So...these 3 rules will allow you to achieve ANY goal in life:
    1) Always increase your skill level. (Take courses, go to seminars, etc.)
    2) Always take massive action. (INCOME producing activities like posting content or split testing adwords/sales pages)
    3) NEVER, NEVER stop until you reach your goal...while all along the way doing steps 1 & 2.

There are thousands of diversions on the internet. I my self have started many times on one project and at the mid I find a more attractive one and temprarily discontinue first one. And this process goes one...

That's why I couldn't make money online and I am sure majority of us face same problem. So Persistant efforts is the key factor to sucess. You must have will to face diversions with smily face.

    I agree.
Many people stop because their why may not big enough.
We must keep the dream out front, the vision of what the heart desires!
We have a need for instant gratification in this materialistic culture.
    Give it time.
    Give of yourself.
Network marketing is about giving first. Its about Relationships!
The receiving will come in its own time. You'll see.
Keep the primary goal out front.
    And put the energy out.

Focus on the customer. Imagine being on the other side of the equation and think about what you would need and/or want (as a potential customer). Keep that in mind when you put together your offers and build your business.

    Focus is everything !
But you need to have a clearly defined goal and a step by step plan to get there. then focus on it 120%
It helps if you monetise every step you need to take to get to the result
It helps if you write a step by step list of what is to be done to get to the target
It helps if you tick off each of the steps as you go so you can see your progress
Take something a small task that is ordinary -
Do it better than the next man
It helps if you can duplicate the thing.
FOCUS and a Plan is the key ingeriant to success here

My best successes have been when I hired a coach who worked with me one on one both by phone and by email. Sometimes you need to get a question answered and an email 24 hours later is just too slow. This is how I learned to use both Dream Weaver and Photo Shop and now I am learning how CPA offers work. I think that a good coach is worth every penny. Your learning curve is shortened most times by years.

Another big reason for failure is really all about you. If you don't take action, you are guaranteed to fail. It's time to quit buying what one marketer calls "bright shiny objects" and start doing something with at least one of the money making programs you've purchased...seeing it through from start to finish.

This could not be further from the truth. Nowadays, it's really too confusing to make money online because of information overload. New people just don't know where to start and not focus long enough on what they should do.

Why 95% of people fail online!
In my opinion, they just expect success to fall in their lap.

Which, of course they've learned by reading the titles to WSO's :-) They read one, realize the secret to success falling in their lap isn't in that one, so they read another one that promises the world to them....and again, the secret to easy bucks isn't in there..and on and on and on.

But, by golly, every one of those WSO's says they have the secret! And that secret's gotta be in there somewhere because they all say it exists!

Here's the secret: Pick one & get your butt to work.

          right on.

I think if most if you are completely new and signup and learn from the many free giveaways - you have enough knowledge to go on and actually build a site and promote it.
Problem is in our drive to learn more - we just end up spending more time on web searching and 'researching' when in reality you should 'applying' what you already know.

Great posts here! Thanks for opening the thread!

What I find is the greatest cause of Failure is "distraction."
The "Power of Persistance" is a lost understanding, when we allow Our Plan to be distracted by the next "shiny object" that comes our way...

the shiniest object of all is our-Self and what we are able to "wax-on and wax-off" with Persistance upon One Plan for long enough to see our Definite Desire Fullfilled. We must know what that Definite Major Purpose is...said Napoleon Hill.

Not much has really changed in the world since the Great Depression of the 30's ...except for many, many, many more distractions.

      Beware Distractions!

From my understanding, Bayo is suggesting us to start with the basics - that is, building small successes one at a time.

In fact, that's what Earl Nightingale proposes as well - to build daily successes every single day, and that in the long term, we would achieve major successes.

    IMHO, People fail because...

1.- They DONT know what they want (they jump from one place to another).

2.- They are LAZY (what??? i have to WORRRRRK AT THIS???)

3.- They dont have a plan (DONT NEEEEED THAT ONE! I´LL REMEMBER IT ALL).

4.- Sum up the above and you get lack of will (why does it ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME???)

You want somethin??? Write down what you want, Find someone that´ll HELP you achieve it, make a plan, take DAILY *CONSISTANT* action...

    and never ever quit.

      What a great thread.

If I may add something that might also help. The fundamentals of earning money via marketing on or offline are in principle the same. That is why you will find books from Wallace Wattles, Napoleon Hill and Dale Carnegie still on the most read lists of Dan Kennedy, The late great Gary Halbert, Jay Abraham to name a few.

The protogies of them, Yanik Silver, Joe Polish, The Late Corey Rudhl and many more just take the basics and Jazz it up for the era we are in.

So, As someone said here in this thread, find a coach you resonate with and use their system. Make sure it is exactly what you want, make a plan, take ACTION and stick with it measuring all the time. I used to be an active member here years ago and got lost building my own businesses.

I have returned and was blown away by the expert opinions here. Some fantastic people and advice given. Just absorb the forum but dont read to much and once agian, get a plan and TAKE ACTION every day.

      Good luck to you.

Height of Inspiration or Depths of Desperation?

It's funny how I can find the money and the resources for the
things that I 'have to' do. The car transmission fails and
suddenly my brain goes into overdrive to solve this pressing
problem and get my vehicle back on the road.

The rent is due and the thought of being homeless during the
winter forms new neuron pathways between my left and right brain.
I find myself battling a sickness, and suddenly life's priorities
shuffle themselves into the correct order. Time spent with the
family seems more pressing than the business meeting that was so
critical. In fact, when I'm sick the only thought that dominates
my mind is to regain my health. What motivates you?

On opposite ends of the spectrum of human motivation are
inspiration and desperation. The reasons that drive you to act
can be found somewhere along that continuum. I know that many
noble feats have been accomplished through love for another
person, but this can be classed as inspiration. Love for the
object inspired the lover to perform acts that would be hard to
    explain otherwise.

I must confess that I am closer to the 'desperation' end of the
spectrum than the 'inspiration' end. I am a deadline type of guy.
While in school, I always procrastinated until I just had to
write that term paper, study for that test or-you may smile-pay
for the tuition. It seemed the idea that there was no way out
placed my brains on steroids. I happen to know many colleagues
who operate on a similar principle. At the same time, there were
many students who just had to get the paper completed a long time
    before the deadline.

Inspiration would appear to be a much nobler motivator than
desperation. Yet, it has always been said that necessity is the
mother of invention. Necessity is closer akin to desperation than
inspiration. It is often true that desperation can lead to
inspiration but seldom the other way around. There are countless
inventions which came about to solve a pressing problem compared
to those made for just a luxurious use.

Those who study direct response marketing tell us that buyers
respond more to avoid pain than to gain pleasure. In other words,
Mr. Jones is more likely to buy the central air cooling system
because it saves him money, than for the reason that it keeps him
cool in the summer. Statistics also shows that the vast majority
of those who inherit large sums of money, either through family
or the lottery, end up losing their wealth or in some instances
    their minds.

This reminds me of the old adage: 'Easy come, easy go'. There are
many parents who have passed on a legacy of wealth, and hence
    laziness, to their posterity.

The critical point for the home business owner is motivation. You
can no longer lose your job because you are late, tardy; hate the
boss, disliked by fellow-workers and a myriad of other reasons.
Now you are the boss and have less to fear outside of failing
yourself! Your motivation must now be intrinsic, and you have
less people to blame for all your failures.

Although many tout the superior benefits of owning a home
business, the harsh reality of finding that motivation to get out
of bed when there are no traffic jams to beat leaves countless
    paralyzed.

My advice? 'Know thyself'! Know what makes you tick and 'trick'
yourself into that frame of mind. There are many motivational
speakers who teach that you should write out your goals and even
place a picture of your dream home next to your workplace. Even
though this may work for some-and it doesn't for me-, I think
that contemplating the results for failure can awake many giant
    ideas.

If you are on the inspiration end of the spectrum then listening
to motivational tapes and reading the stories of those who
overcame great odds, may just be the medicine for your soul.

Do you love being healthy or hate being sick? Do you love having
money or hate being broke? Do you love being with your spouse or
hate being away? Do you love being independent or hate being
bossed around? Do you love happiness or hate being sad? These
questions may all seem to be two faces of the same coin but very
    different faces.

    You may be like George Bernard Shaw who said, "You see things;
and you say 'Why?'; But I dream things that never were; and I say
'Why not?' Or, you may identify closer with Dwight D. Eisenhower
who said, "What counts is not necessarily the size of the dog in
the fight - it's the size of the fight in the dog".

You may be the dreamer or the dog engaged in mortal combat. What
counts most is to know who you are, and light the appropriate
    burner on your motivational stove.

Another element to consider is MINDSET. It's very important to maintain optimism, especially when things are going rough. Your mindset will help you immensely when tough decisions or situations arise.

So how do you develop a better mindset? Constantly be aware of your thoughts. I've heard it be referred to as 'meta cognition' before. When you are able to connect the dots between your thought patterns, not only will you be able to realize them and improve them, but also learn a lot about yourself! It's truly incredible.

What three principles should we all try to aim for?
    1. Think GOOD thoughts
    2. Speak GOOD words
    3. Do GOOD things

The principles above will bring you so many different kinds of success; emotional, financial, and health wellness.

    Yours in true success,

    Hi

I agree with that ... and would like to throw in my tuppence-worth if I may!

Making money online also has to do with choosing ONE blueprint and sticking to it! Frank Kern has a great one, but so does Derek Gehl and so does Mike Filsaime ... etc. etc.

What this boils down to ultimately is believing in your SELF because, sure you want to - and you should - follow and emulate, (not copy), someone else's success, but believe you can do it in your own niche and your own STYLE too! Some day, someone will be asking you how you made it big!

Don't get distracted by all those who try to tell you that without their latest widget or piece of knowledge you're sunk. People are still people, and on the net they're just window shopping, same as they always have. When they see something they like, they'll buy it. You don't need every gizmo under the sun to achieve that. You need to value yourself, then you'll value what you create or sell!

One more thought: don't just chase the money! Sell a product you love to a market you respect. That way, you'll treat your clients like your mates, and they'll keep coming back for more ... and more ... and more!

    (Got a lot for tuppence, didn't I?)

    Good luck!
    Trev.

Cool! Those things are exactly what I am doing now! I have put together what I call a 'Weekly Marketing Schedule' which I apply weekly. Then, I most of all pray that I continue to be successful and I have gotten some success. You see, when you are a first-time internet marketer, you will make some falls, but this is only tests and you are also learning at the same time. I have been through it even when I used to join so many programs w/o support. Another thing to NEVER EVER do is procrastinate! This was something I used to do. That's why we all need guidance. We can't do it all by ourselves. We need to seek our Father that can help us choose the right program to promote. Have a great weekend guys and hope that each and one of you can take this by heart.

The 9 Major Reasons Why People Fail Online Or In Life

    1. Lack of a Positive and Well Defined Purpose for Your
    Goal.

Success will elude all who do not have a high primary purpose,
idea or goal at which to aim. With evaluation and desire,
you'll arrive at a decision knowing exactly what that goal is or
isn't. Lacking a fixed goal is one of the major causes in over
    90% of all failures.

    2. Disregard For Self-Discipline.

Self control of thoughts, actions and desires is achieved by
accepting always, only positive mental patterns and dispelling
    all negative influences.

    3. Practicing Procrastination.

Allowing yourself to put off and wait for when the time is right
to begin, continue or finish fulfilling your goal. By beginning
and continuing on you'll fully realize that the right time is
now. Avoid the habit and apply your ability and experience to
    accomplish it now.

    4. Having a Negative Personality.

All hope is lost when a person wanting success continuously
turns people away by saying, doing or thinking contrary to
cooperative behavior. Success is achieved when
co-operating with others and in return receiving co-operative
    attitudes. A win-win situation!

    5. Wanting Something for Nothing.

Crooks, gamblers, cheats, scammers, intimidators and plain
dishonesty have affected many people who have, are or will
become victims of the "something for nothing" instinct of real
losers. The title should read "Work and Do Something Good and
    Be a Winner".

    6. Not Understanding the Strength of Decision Making.

Efficiency, productivity, co-operation, profits, growth, trust,
respect, etc. is a direct result of successful people who are
able to make the right decisions quickly when the opportunity
presents itself or change a decision, if at all necessary,
slowly and cautiously. The opposite of that, failure, is a
result of people who are slow to reach decisions, if they can at
all, or who more often quickly change decisions. Indecisions
and waiting for the right time go hand in hand. Make a decision
    now, stick to it.

    7. Being Over Cautious.

Don't let over-caution deprive you of making the right move at
the right time. Do not hold back on making decisions. After a
period of evaluation of your project's direction, value,
resources, potential, costs, finances, and the demand, you can
make a wise decision. When you decide that any or all of these
considerations will benefit you and your goal, that it has a
lot of merit, then you must make a positive forward decision.

    8. No Concentration of Effort.

Always concentrate on every aspect of your goal. It
breeds desire, knowledge, familiarity and results. Avoid
straying into an unrelated direction, creating distractions that
break the momentum of continuity. Concentration will reward you
with quicker completion and positive results.

    9. Not Being Persistent About Persistence.

Quitting too early and not having the resolve to persist if and
when confronted with a tough break, Murphy's Law, or
an uncontrollable circumstance is a major cause of failure.

Easier said than done. There's not a single business in the world that is cut and dry. There's always a process. Now, the best thing going for IM newbies is that there's mucho proof one can make it. People from all walks of life are making it. But keep in mind that one needs to invest a lot of time to implement all the tips and tricks.

Unless you have money to outsource everything. And even then, there's still a process. It not easy to find the right fit and match when it comes to outsourcing. Too many people are looking for an elevator to success. There's no such think. Take the stairs one step at a time.

Internet Marketing is a business. Study everyone then decide which way you want to go. Create a simple business plan. Set goals and stay focus. You are not a super man or woman. Focus is the key.

Please don't misunderstand me. YOU will make it in the IM business. But you need to stay with it! Nothing works the first time. Got it!

An online business is just that a business...If you think you can just start ANY business, and make instant money, well it very rarely happens. Take the business approach and see where you might be in a year from now if you just stick it out. You must however be in the right business, and your product worth buying! If your spending a lot of money in your online business...STOP!!
That's one thing you're doing wrong...Find the programs that are inexpensive to join, and proven! Most of the marketing I do is Free...Why would you pay, when there are so many free tools around.

Do you really want to know why 95% of people fail online?

People fail online because of inconsistancy, lack of motivation, and selfishness. Now none of these are extremely detrimental, but need to be corrected in order to succeed.

Many internet marketers are so fresh due to the current economic situation. New marketers are jumping in by the minute in search of a new career.

Internet Marketers are also looking for the so called "golden ticket" to financial freedom. They want it and they want it yesterday. Nothing is going to happen overnight and you have to be persistent to gain any kind of financial stability on the internet. If you are new, stick it out. Don't work really hard for the first week and then dog off, you won't make it.

Many fail due to lack of motivation. Find something that makes you happy no matter what and use that as a focal point to your goals. Your kids, a new car, money, what ever it is, it can pull you into a more motivated state of mind. Tell yourself that what you are doing is worth it and stick with it. If it was worth getting into in the first place, stick with it long enough to see what can happen.

It is very rare to find an internet marketer out there that cares about people. How many times have you sent someone a product or service you are working on and all you get to be is a target of reverse marketing? This is all wrong. People, leads, prospects, what ever you want to call them, are the key to any successful business.

What makes a successful business from an unsuccessful one?
The customer should always be taken into consideration. Get a feel for who they are. Focus on what they want. Help them achieve their goals and you will stand out. You want to make them feel that you are not trying to sell, but listen and help.

For those who don't know him, Willie Crawford is a well respected guru. In one of his recent articles he puts into context the often-quoted statistic that 95% of all Internet businesses fail. He points out that in reality the vast majority of businesses in the offline world fail too, so the picture is not bleaker online.

In-fact, Willie makes the point that it is better online since most aspiring Internet marketers could never even find sufficient capital to start a business in the offline world.

In the same article he discusses 4 reasons why most internet marketers fail miserably. These reasons are as follows:
    1) Selling The Wrong Products,
    2) Trying To Do Everything Yourself,
    3) Very Poor Time Management, and
    4) Too Many Projects That Are Never Completed.

I believe people fail becasue the dont stick to the plan...

Its a big competative online world out there... when ur new, u get excited by some guru talk and all of a sudden u feel like "Yes i can Do this" so u make a plan and start immidiatly and u are confident to succeed online, only to see ur INBOX filled with other great opportunities the next day... even the so called guru that told u to follow program A is telling u now u should follow Program B..... and ur Inbox is like flooded with Opportunities

If someone ask me if i know a way to make money online?
i would say: "Hell Yeah i do" here is one of my email boxes just look around... u will find a million opportunities every single day and a thousand of launches included...
Just open the email and Opt-IN so u can get the next big thing every hour...

Its a pretty nice online CIRCLE out their... 4% is making serious money online... so what is the other 96% doing?? well they pay out the 4% thats making money

So people fail because they follow every single opportunitie... u need to stick to One plan and folllow this plan...

Emagine going to school to become a lawyer and after one month youre teacher tells u he has a very close friend who is a teacher also and works at this other fancy shool and maybe u should take a look at that shool to... and by the way if u act today u wont have to pay for the first year... WOULD U THINK U WOULD EVER GRADUATE AS A LAWYER????

Thats whats happening online.... Thats marketing... its not bad at all.... but recognize it and stay at one shool..

STICK TO A PLAN JUST STICK TO IT.. AND FINISH IT... and you wil GRADUATE

One of the causes of such a high failure rate is that too many people are drinking the kool aid. There are so many Gurus and Sponsors out there who lead people to believe that it is soooo easy to make a fortune online. "Just plug in to our system and make $$$$ overnight" It sets people up to fail.

As successful internet marketers we need to let people know that its NOT easy but it can be done with the right mindset and taking consistent action. It is possible to change their lifestyle if they have the right motivation and keep a positive can do attitude no matter how tough it gets.

If people know what to expect right from the start they will be less likely to quit when they don't see immediate results. No one wants to feel like a failure and that is what is happening because they think they should see results right away and they don't so the inner critic sets in and says "you can't do this" and they fail.

Stop drinking the kool aid and know that it isn't easy to find success online but it can and will be done if you have the right mindset, training and action!!! Who knew it would take "work" to make multiple six figures??? : )

Jim Rohn said it best in this quote. "Learn how to work harder on yourself than you do your job, for if you work hard on your job you can make a living, but if you work hard on yourself you can make a fortune" The same applies to the failure rate in the home based opportunity industry. People don't take the time to learn the basics of marketing and don't apply themselves by taking massive action.
My advice for any newbie is to find a mentor, not just any mentor, but someone who not only talks the talk, but also walks the walk and then follow their exact methods.

This way you could save yourself a lot of money in time, effort and expensive through trial and error.

Why reinvent the wheel, simply learn from someone who is succeeding online and do as they do....

    Capice??

Most people give up just when they're about to achieve
success. They quit on the one yard line. They give up at the last
minute of the game, one foot from a winning touchdown.
I've found success whenever I thought of quitting. This gives me a lot of encouragement so I keep on going because I know one day it will pay off.

The top three reasons to fail in internet business are almost the same as these in the "real world" business:

    1. Lack of planning.

I now have someone who I consider a mentor, and although I found difficulty processing all the information, and even more difficulty taking action on it I finally forced myself to take action and now it's moving right along. Love what you guys have got to say about the formula for success, nice one!

I think most things have been covered and I agree...Focus, consistency, persistence, knowledge, will, congruence etc etc etc, however I do place considerable value on attitude. It radiates and brings favor to your door. When leveraged it can effortlessly influence behavior and attract benefits to you, long and short term.

As a person and entrepreneur I have worn both a wrong and a nice, humble attitude and I know which has yielded the best results for me.

A humble and caring attitude towards others is what I have witnessed on this thread and I'm loving it!

There are very high expectations when ever we see some one claiming about earning money so easily even a layman can do this...

Practically we see that it is not so easy. First of all one should keep in his mind what value he is delivering and what he should expect. If you put your self in the shoes of your client or buyer, visualize and ask your self "Should I pay for this service...?" This will help a lot and will creat a sense that making money is not so easy.

Making money is easy only by fooling some one else... Other wise you'll have to earn it.

Well, it's only been in the last couple of years that I had an even "bigger" idea and starting putting the plans in place. Oddly enough, and what this thread often addresses, is that I lost focus several times. Unlike my first business (when that's all I had), I became more aware of friend's businesses and different types of money making ideas like you find in here, etc. and thus became confused and really lost my sense of direction. So, in a way I feel like I'm starting all over again and this thread has helped me get refocused on strategy, planning, implementatiion and follow-through... while trying to have blinders on to the other incredibly tempting roads along the way. Ha!

It's such a feeling of brotherhood here - especially in this thread. And to top it off, I found a friend of mine that's already a member here. That was a surprise! Anyway... my hat goes off to all of you for having the drive and determination to be successful entrepeneurs and especially the help and moral support you give each other.

    Cheers!

Thanks. Not so much "figured it out" as "figured out how it can work for me". I think the biggest thing I can offer this forum is how there are different ways to skin a cat (as the old saying goes). I see a lot of one-dimensional thinking in here. While it's good in one sense, entrepeneurs should be careful not to box themselves in. It's a big, big world out there and there are many different ways to make money.

i think i have fallen into that trap of get rich quick and blown a small fortune on these wso's when really if you follow the sound principles and slow and steady soon wins the race. Its a tough pill to swallow for most especially if you are in financial difficulty but better to just get going and see the results in a couple of weeks rather than not start at all and be in the same place in a couple of weeks...

i also think that i have personally lost value for money...suddenly $3000 a month doesn't seem worth it...lol...but it really really is compared to working a 9-5 for someone else.

have to commit and take 1 thing at a time rather than being scattered which is what i was until yesterday...now i'm going to focus on 1 project.

I agree, and this may sounds silly...

A growing tree is the perfect analogy. You can't see it growing, but it is. As long as you don't cut it down (quit) it will grow, and then others will grow around it.

It takes faith that trees grow in order to take the time to plant and water them and all the time seeing nothing...same thing applies here.

It's funny that you should use this analogy because I have been using it for years only I speak of a flower instead of a tree. You water and water this flower and care for it and nourish it, etc. but it is near impossible to see it grow. Yet in due time, it blossoms! Patience and faith are in fact part of the process.

Speaking from experience, lack of motivation
is what has stopped me dead in my tracks.

Without the proper motivaton, I just couldn't
    get things going.

I picked up a book called Get Motivated! by
Tamara Lowe, did the exercises in the book,
and quickly learned why I was getting the
    results I was getting.

She calls it our "Motivational DNA" meaning:

D: Drives the internal forces that mobilze a
person to act. (connection or production)

N: Needs are the core requirements that a
person must have in order to be fulfilled.
    (stability or variety)

A: Awards are the what a person desires
for achievement - (internal - spiritual or
external - material or monetary compensation.

The trick is figuring out what's most important
    to you.

But, WHERE CAN I FIND THEM?

There are too many tools and "systems" in the cyber worlds. Which one actually works? Who is lying and who isn't? Nobody can tell you until you try it out. I join the Warrior Forum because it seems very resourceful; therefore, no matter what the end results are, I guess I gain / learn something from here. However, ultimately, who can tell me what's really working if I really want a online "job"? An online job which has flexible time schedule, not going to worry about traffic and gas price, and more time to clean up the house...

If someone knows which tools / strategies really works, be honest, and show it to everybody?!

I can relate to you. The thing is that there is too much of information... most of it is CRAP. The more you digg, the more you find yourself confused...and at the end you get that "so which is right or which is wrong" feeling.

That's why I created my website with the goal in mind to "filtrate" information and only provide readers with gems. There isn't enough time to scan the net and look for the "right" source.

So simply to answer your needs to strategy, I would suggest you to find out exactly, what is your problem/need/want. When you can define it, try to sum it up in keywords, by which you can search the web for it. Learn to categorize and organize your information in clear manner so you could quickly access to it.

In this way, you start to develop your own, unique strategy. There aren't many people who can be honest and share with you their strategy...instead they share TIPS & TRICKS and all other little bits, which makes you even more hungry... from another point of view, it's a good marketing strategy

So my advice is to look around, but know what are you looking for. Don't chase every fancy phrase "free strategies and tools to make your life unbelievable" ... believe it or not, it will only make you more confused

Where many people fall short is their attitude and mindset. They come into this thinking it's all going to be a cakewalk because they got on a "sizzle" call and listened to some guy talk about making $35,235 in 30 days.

Did this guy make that kind of money? He may have. It's entirely possible. But that same guy probably did not tell the person on the other end how many months, or even years, it took for him to reach that lucrative 30-day period.

The point is, approach your online business like you would your normal job. If your boss told you they'd give you a $30,000/month raise for doing X-number of activities, you'd probably bust your butt to make sure you got the job done.

So do the same thing, without a boss breathing down your neck! It's YOUR business. YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR RESULTS! So take action and make it happen.

Most people fail for the same reason as most people have great ideas for a business but dont actually start a business.

People rarely gather the information, give it a go, FAIL and then get back up and try again.. and again.. and again..

The people who do are the people who make it. It is as simple as that.

Get back up, dust yourself off, fail better.

I'd like to suggest one other factor:
to create something that you love.
There seems to be so many people trying to make a buck online
and their main focus is "to make a buck" so the internet is filling
to the brim full of empty headed, recycled useless crap.

The ones that stand out - that do well, and that get a good reputation
are the people who have created something they love - that have put in the time to
create something really valuable and useful and people recognize that!

not only that you might actually get some sense of self satisfaction and pride in what
you have contributed to the world.

Conversely those who are more focused on making a buck, consequently go onto produce rubbish products, rip people off and hide behind fake pen names when they sell their products.

It comes down to a choice : be your best and help the world... or... do the minimum, focus only on helping yourself and increasing your chances of failing....

Unfortunately, that percentage is accurate. So what does this tell us? That there are 95% of us that want to make money working from home have spent money on the "knowledge" part. And Only 5% of us who have spent money on trying to get the knowledge just dished out money that we could not afford? Are you with me so far? So, I can honestly say that I bought at least five programs that I could not afford. It was all about affiliate marketing, but the only words I actually "saw" were "How To Make Money From Home Online" and being as desperate to fulfill my vision for financial freedom and a chance at prosperity that I was-- I bought into these programs. I do not want to mention names, but they were scams. Straight out scams. Yes, they gave me some information that was useful...even powerful from their perspective..but what was lacking? They did not give me the information in a manner that connected the dots. They give you information all right..but the teachings are useless if you have no clue as to what to do with them or how to connect the dots. Telling me that SEO is what I need to be doing and telling me to use PPC (Pay-Per_click) to get my ads seen by the most people the fastest--and here I am a single, desperate mother who saved up the $50.00 just to buy into their program--how in the world am I supposed to do PPC? These guys ought to be ashamed of themselves. But, in the end--they will answer for their dishonorable money-making actions. So, I went back to looking for "employment" every time. The economy was turning bad. No one has money to hire anyone unless they are overseas workers. So, it got even worse. I became more desperate. I was so desperate that I bought into the work from home typing scam. But, you will never believe I made a lot of money off that! The only thing that I can say is a scam about it, really is that the persons that the system targeted advertising to were people looking for a "JOB". But, I tell you that there were a lot of people buying the work from home typing thing. Because of that, I learned something valuable. I learned not to be misleading in any way, shape or form. I was as honest as I could muster it and still make money. My $3300-5900 monthly sales dropped suddenly and pretty much permanently. I have had no desire to pursue that avenue, regardless of the money it brings...people were feeling scammed. I do not want to have anything to do with that. So, I became part of the 95%. I gave up. I did not know what to do to make money online. I did not know a legitimate, honest way to make money and pursue my vision. I had no clue how to really make it work. So, I started researching before the internet got turned off. I found out about affiliate marketing. I did more research. I found that it is honorable and has been making people wealthy. I became part of the 5% again. And I have not stopped pursuing my financial independence, dignity, and vision ever since. So, what I learned from all these obstacles, was to persevere. Those who do not persevere are in the 95% bracket. Yeah---only 5% persevere because they have a vision, not just dreaming. I hope my testimonial was not too boring.. I just read your post and started talking. Mariam

For most people they are not taught how to be successful. They are not taught how to believe in themselves. They don't have confidence and self esteem. They have no idea how successful people think.

It is my belief that you also need to develop yourself in this area too. It can be simply done by reading success principle books.

Years back I knew that rich and successful people thought differently than I did. I wanted to know what made them successful, what made them rich. So I set out to study them. There are many books out there. There is currently a thread going on here about good books in this area.

People fail because they are not persistant, but what is at the root of that persistance? They never learned the inner workings of success. It's not just following some internet system for business it's also knowing how to run yourself as a successful person.

Persistence and a willingness to learn quickly are a couple of key traits needed for IM success.

Plus, for those just starting out, there are literally thousands of choices in business models and other "schemes." To be successful, a person must do the research and homework, and pick one business model to develop fully.

Don't get caught up trying the latest weekly money-making fad that some guru is promoting.

A good majority of people fail online because they are forever chasing the "Secrets" instead of accepting "The Truth" that there are no secrets.

I know because I coach people (Not going to plug my services here) and that is the single most common problem I see from people of all ages, race, income levels and backgrounds.

The challenge I have given people this year is simple...

"Focus on achieving just 1 thing a week and we'll take it on from there"

The truth has been spoken by Bayo, the majority of us flail around looking for the answer and most times it is right in front of our nose.

You can't just expect instant results with an online biz. Like the OP stated it needs time to grow.

If you believe it is, then it shall be. If you know it isn't, then you are right again. Either way you are absolutely right.

This has already been said but I can't help but add my 2 cents...

To succeed at making money online, you have to be willing to grind it out. For me, I worked at internet marketing for _years_ before I started making real money. I didn't quit because I enjoyed it, even when I failed repeatedly.

if you really want to make money online you gotta work harder and smarter. And yah you're right that most failures come because after starting they quit too soon..one way of reaching your dreams and becoming successful is sticking to that dream and make way to achieve it.

And one more, having mentors is really really a big help and it's something that we should have. Nice post. Thanks for sharing.

Amen, amen, amen. Thank you for contributing such insight. That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm currently following a list of objectives to complete to have my sales funnel complete and I already achieved about 2-3 things on my list. Luckily, I had about 3 different IM coaches provide the right information so I could succeed. Now I'm just following the details carefully. Thanks a lot o r this encouraging post.

this reminds me of the story in "think and grow rich" where the guy stops digging for gold, sells his property because he gave up on ever finding gold, and the new owner had to dig only 3 feet more and he struck it big!!!

Pretty good example tough!!! you cant expect the plant to yield you fruits the next day you planted it!! I takes time. you gotta use that time to build your knowledge base so you can handle any challenges on the way. Things are learnt the hard way when it comes to IM. And you gotta remember all trees don't yield you sweet mango.

I think they fail because of lack of proper planning. Use of bad or weak technique may lead them to the failure.

Then that same Super Guru Hero will not only do what any respecting Guru would do...hit you with a One Time Offer that only distracts you from completing the course you just bought but guess what? The next day he/she will be sending you an email with "The Best Product of all time" that his "friend" created.

Going around in those circles over and over can actually stop someone from experiencing real success.
This EXACTLY is the story of information overload . It happens all the time in IM . product owner wants to make the most money off you and to do he would promote as many products as you care to buy

However, for you to succeed , you must focus on one thing and one thing only and keep at it for months until you see success

So in a way , a guru can be your enemy because each time that kill your focus and keep sending you emails with ith "The Best Product of all time" that his "friend" created.

    Cheers for that
