Okay... Confession. I Used To Think Some Of You Were NUTJOBS!

This is the one subforum here that I have always ignored, because every time I came in here I would see someone losing some huge thing in their life, and people were suggesting to talk it back into existence. Someone goes bankrupt, and it is because they are funneling negative energy... when it my view it is because they aren't wise with their money.

Now, I'm starting to think... MAYBE, just MAYBE you guys are on to something. I don't know anything about what you guys talk about. Positive thinking, funneling energy, and all that crap. I like logic, I like facts, and the fact is I may be a little ignorant to what you guys are saying in this forum.

I noticed myself, a couple weeks ago, getting stressed out about Christmas, bills, questioning the future of living in my current home, having doubts about a girl I'm with... and since then... things just got worse. I do websites, SEO, and other services, and it isn't normal for me to go a while without a sale. I have 9 potential clients, lined up and ready to pull the trigger, but they aren't doing it! Financially, my situation sucks right now, still have much to be thankful for, but its just getting crazy now LOL. Relationship is taking a turn down a dead end.. a sewer line apparently is leaking under my house.. a DOOR came OFF THE HINGES when I opened it! WTF?!?

Did I really bring this on with negative energy? I feel loony for even posting this, and wondering if my negativity or, in my view, "being realistic" is the cause of this? Does this sound absolutely crazy?

At first, I did a lot of praying, thinking maybe there was something I'm supposed to learn, or something I'm doing wrong. Kind of ironic I just shook my head at some of the posts in this forum, and now I'm posting in it.

So what do you guys think? Is there something I'm missing here? Am I just losing my mind?

All I know is that things tend to get all crazy in bunches. It happens, and if it's not happening to someone now, it either just ended or is about to begin. The only thing you can control is your response to it (your thoughts). Relax, take care of yourself, try new things, stick to your best plan, and it will be over soon, and it often happens before something great.

Lol maybe consciousness wants to tell you something

Naw but it could either be because you are in a negative spiral now. You seem to attract all negative things in your life with a negative attitude. It is like a spiral.

Another posibility could be that because you are having a negative mindset right now, that you notice the negative things more now. Or make things out to be negative..

The only advice I could give you is, completely stop everything right now and ask yourself what you want right now. Have a clear view again and go for it.

Hi iAm...best advice I can give you is take yourself to a quiet room, shut the door and tell yourself

FULL STOP (this is important, tell yourself FULL STOP--)

This crap is not going to continue.

    Believe It.

Decide that at least one of these potential clients is going to say yes in the next day or two and get started with you.

Decide that this is going to be the outcome. Things are NOW STOPPING, right freakin' now, being chaotic with you. Take no sh*t about it. Any time some stupid little thought comes into your head and starts yammering on about this or that worry, and you become aware of it, Shut It Up.

Be certain that one or more clients are coming to you in the next couple of days with ready money. You don't care where from, as long as it's legal. You don't have any preconceived notions of exactly how this is all going to turn out, but the chaotic crap ended when you started reading this message and the money is on its way.

You have to decide that this is the way things are going to turn out.

Come back at the end of the week and tell me what happened.

Yes well said! It's actually what I meant to say as well. Just take some time for yourself. Like actually stop what you are doing. Just be for a sec, start from scratch again

This post helped me a lot. So what happened? Ended up pulling in about $1,600 for the week. Very close on doing more than that as well, but he probably won't be closed on until Tuesday next week, that would have added another $1,200. The great news is, I have $8,800 in the pipeline for the next week or two, just need to close on them.

One of the deals I'm going to close on, is something I'm excited about, had the CEO of a major health care company give me a call, and he has quite a few projects, professional and personal that he needs completed. Could lead to some huge deals. Another exciting thing is I have a deal in the works for a modeling agency, $2,500/mo and 10% of the company to do their internet marketing which won't start until January, but still awesome!

So... one of my worst weeks turned into a decent week. I guess I could be a little pessimistic that I have more money lined up but my hands aren't on it yet, instead I'm trying to see it as a positive thing that I know its coming, just need to be patient.

I'm a lot like you actually. I tend to want to stick to tangible, real life things that I can see, touch, and quantify. I do believe though that there is something to this "positive/negative energy" that is talked about in this forum so much.

Now I'll concede this, I don't think it has to do with anything spiritual. Well, at least not in my case. I think it has more to do with your mood affecting your thinking, and thus what happens in your life. If you look at things with a positive outlook, I believe that you are more likely to find constructive ways to deal with your problems. Thus, good things happen, and it is attributed to your "positive energy".

Same thing goes on the negative side. Always in a bad mood? You're more likely to mope or bitch about a problem rather than solve it. Things pile up, and before you know it your life is a mess. I know, I've been there more than once just this year.

So I guess what I'm saying is regardless of whether or not you believe that there is a spiritual energy that controls your life or believe that your brain can be "hacked" by thinking certain thoughts, your mood can and will affect how things go in your life.

I know how you feel. You may have seen my post explaining why I believe everything happens for a reason, or you may not have. I made it like a month or two ago, so its been awhile. I used to think it was all a bunch of BS too.. But now, I think there might be something to this whole "improve your mindset, improve your life" kind of thinking.

I dont let the small stuff get to me like before.. You might not know what that reason is (yet) but there is a reason to everything. One thing I read on here that really did speak to me, was this:

Think that over, thats some really deep stuff.. haha but its true.. I just try to live 1 day at a time man. Tomorrow isnt guaranteed. And you cant take money with you when your time is up. So money isnt everything.

I always used to think that if I could just 'have' money then all my problems would be gone. And its really not like that. All the money in the world still wont make you happy. There is more to life than just 'material' things.

I dont even spend my money these days.. lol hell, when I was broke my girl used to tell me NOT to buy stuff, that we couldn't afford it, blah blah.. but I always bought it anyway.

But now its the complete opposite. She had to practically convince me to buy a PS3 with MW3 and a TurtleBeach headset and all this stuff - I could afford it and STILL almost didn't buy it! LOL speaking of, I'm going to play some MW3 for a bit. Todays been a bit of a slow day for me.

Hm.. I forget the exact reason I wanted to post in here now.. Damn. I know I can ramble sometimes.. But oh well, its cool. lol carry on

I believe that anything bad that happens to us is a result of something we have done. So sorry to say maybe you should look back a few steps and see what may have caused all of this negativity.

Then just start being grateful for what you have. Maybe write a journal every morning listing the top 10 things you are currently grateful for. It may seem hard at times but remember there are always people with less and so long as you have your clothes, food, and water you really do have alot.

    Good luck!

And good on you for praying. Definitely keep it up too.

Hey namless, I usually follow your stuff in the offline subject forum. So when I noticed your name here I had to give it a read. You definitely have good content when you comment on threads. The entire forum was built to help people and this room is another aspect of the. The creator of this forum understood that helping other involves several area of life and thus created this room.

It appears to me that your situation is somewhat starting to look bleak in your eyes and possibly starting to look a tad impossible. So, instead of directing to my thread in the room “making the impossible, possible” I decided to copy and paste it for you. It is a touch different way of looking at things but still using logic.

I was reading a Napoleon Hill Book not long ago and the word impossible was in parentheses as “impossible” My eyes focused in on that one word and I stopped reading. Suddenly the following words came to rushing into my head from within. I hope this helps someone.

"Impossible" has no strength or resolve. Thus I must break the word down in order to extract and exert actual power in the knowing of “I’m possible” Drawing only one conclusion, That which may seem “impossible” in the hearts and minds of many is “I’m possible” when given to me. The only difference is how you see the word.

The same word with the same letters in the exact same order with only a single space between two of the letters changes the word entirely.

Often in life we have found many great business and inventors that were faced with a project in which their friends and family told them that it was impossible. Not taking defeat easily they will often reply in action or word, “that may be impossible but I’m possible.”

The impossible is an imposter in the light of understanding I’m possible.

If you need a higher power than yourself then break down the word I’m into its original meaning which is “I am”.

If you are faced with an “impossible” situation laugh at that imposter and say out loud “I’m possible” if you do not believe in yourself you are in a sad position but one can rely on a higher power which many do and you can say the “I am” is possible.

“Impossible” “I’m possible” or the “I am is possible” Choose your word and embrace it well, and you will have your results if you are do not grow weary in well doing.

    Hi Nameless,

You created your situation (take responsibility for it) which mean's you can re-create and un-create it.

I think it’s important to be a cause (being active) and not an effect (being passive) in the World.

You don’t have to like everything concerned with Personal Development, however, if you’re open to learning, there will be a lot that can dramatically improve your life.

        Well that's good then. : )

I think he has to be a little more open/accepting to get anything substantial out of Personal Development (etc.).

I think you are right. I am definitely not a passive person, and always working on improving my business, but the whole self improvement I have thought was a big crock. Positive energy, negative energy, I didn't really care much about it because I knew if I used my law of averages that will beat your law of attraction.

However, my law of averages have never let me down until the last week or two, lol. There is no doubt that I have negative things in my life, and I do think that has been effecting me.

This pickle I seem to be in. I don't think was caused from a lack of action. I am big on marketing and diversifying traffic and potential clients. There is always variance in cold calling and law of averages, but never the variance I have experienced in the last couple weeks. My calls went up, everything I have been doing I have been doing more and more of to scale up.

The ONLY thing I can possibly think that could have caused this... and I do feel crazy for saying this... A couple weeks ago I had an uh oh scenario play out in my head. Like, what if everything drops off in the next couple weeks, that would be a horrible situation, with christmas and bills, and everything else. Is it possible me even thinking that, attracted negative energy to get me into this rut?

Where would you suggest I start learning more about personal development?

Watching how your mind works in reading your threads. I think your first book should be Nepolean Hill "Think and Grow Rich" That book is just as much about self improvment and postive thinking as it is about making money. The way the author mixes facts with understanding positive and negative engery is right up your alley of how your mind works I feel.

            Hi Nameless,

There's a couple of books I think you may find helpful.

            1. Think And Grow Rich (Napoleon Hill). 2. An Iron Will (Orison Swett Marden). 3. The Success Principles (Jack Canfield). This should get you off to an amazing start. : )

If I had to recommend one it would be “An Iron Will.” (Search Google to read it for free. Same with “Think And Grow Rich.”)

As for your question: I like this quotation: “It’s not what happens to us that is important, it’s how we respond that counts.” Choose to respond positively. Embrace the challenge.

Combine that with being more grateful (there are children starving and dying right now) and that should put in in a better place.

And finally, keep reading this Forum. There a many great people with advice you can learn from.

I have no doubts that I can... I already have. I've pulled out of worse situations than this before, but this time I am unsure of the cause. Every other time I had a logical explanation why sales were slow, maybe not enough calls, maybe I slacked off in advertising. This time... it appears to be "negative energy". This is why I am so baffled. I understand numbers, I understand logic, I understand facts. The logic, and the numbers, say that I should have closed 3-4 sales. What I don't understand is, can this whole negative energy thing really have this much effect? Is there anything our there you guys can suggest me reading to learn more? Any REAL studies?

Law of averages in a term of sales, cold calling. It has worked for me for 8 years, until this glitch! lol. I do mostly offline marketing, although, my internet marketing has been a HUGE help in establishing passive income. I have a network of a few hundred websites, that supplement my income with adsense and some CPA. Definitely no expert there, but it for sure helps. Perhaps I should focus a bit more time in that area for a bigger safety net. Great point about determination, I agree completely.. I am a very determined person.

You are not losing your mind.

Regardless of whether you know about them or believe in them, the Laws of the Universe are at work 24/7 for everyone. Always have been, always will be.

How to apply those Laws deliberately instead of by default can change you from the inside which then changes your environment and situation on the outside.

This change is not easy although it is very simple.

It is not easy because we are all products of our dominant habits of thinking, acting, talking, etc.

There are tons of famous people and authors who have repeatedly through the ages found this out for themselves, turned their life around and then told others about it.

Gratitude is a very high energetic vibration/frequency. When you can actually feel really grateful more time than worry or fear, you will attract more things to feel grateful about.

However, because of the dominant habits and patterns in our lives and all around us, it is good to be continually reminded to stay in the deliberate creation of our lives.

A really fast read that gives lots and lots of examples of people who have used the Laws deliberately is

The Game of Life and How To Play it by Florence Scovill Shinn but get it in the bigger book The Wisdom of Florence Scovill Shinn because then you get 3 books in one for the same price. You can get them cheap as a download for kindle or at most bookstores or on Amazon.

The Prosperity Secrets of the Ages by Catherine Ponder is all about how all the Laws of the Universe are buried in the Bible and how to apply them to your life.

Think & Grow Rich is the definitive but because he never really says what "the secret" is, you might miss that it is the Law of Attraction.
It is also a lot harder to read than Florence Scovill Shinn or Catherine Ponder.

Law of Attraction by Jerry and Ester Hicks (and any other book by them).

But really there is so much free information online, check that out first.

And like I already posted, go here.

When you asked for scientific reasons for this, I remember some emails abou this I got from the daily emails of Kathy Hadley Life Coach

I had to go look for it, but here is one of them:

Here is some more science behind the powerful Universal Laws of Attraction, Deliberate Creation and Allowing:

Barbara Frederickson, Ph.D., has been studying positive emotions for over 20 years.

According to Frederickson, when we experience a positive emotion our thinking expands.

(Negative emotions, on the other hand, narrow our thinking.)

"We literally see more," she says, "allowing us to face our problems with clear eyes, make creative connections and see more possible solutions for problems."

Frederickson has named this the "broaden effect."

Additionally, says Frederickson, as we make a habit of seeking out positive emotions we change and grow for the better.

We discover and build new skills, new knowledge and new ways of being that allow us to live healthier and happier (the build effect).

"Positivity presents an opportunity to step up to the next level of existence, to broaden your mind and build your best self," says Frederickson.Healthier and happier.

According to current research, those who practice a steady diet of positive
    emotions:

    * Report fewer aches and pains, headaches and other physical symptoms.
They also have lower blood pressure, fewer colds and sleep better.

    * Are better able to rebound from adversity and stress. Positive emotions create a calming effect in your body that can lower blood pressure, dissipate stress energy and lift your mood.

    * Develop more positive and closer relationships with others. They tend to have more friends and a larger social network to rely on during crises.

    * Become more optimistic, more resilient, less depressed and more satisfied with life.

And here is another email from them:

"Although science discovered many years ago that everything in existence is comprised of energy and all energy exists as and emits a frequency, there are far too few who understand at the depth necessary, that they can use what science has validated in a way that will dramatically enhance the quality of their life.

What even fewer understand is the fact that they ARE using the Law of Attraction, vibration and frequency already, every second of everyday whether they're aware of it or "believe" in it's existence or not.

In fact the Law of Attraction combined with energy and frequency determines how each and every event, condition and circumstance in your life comes to be and it does so in each and every aspect of your life whether physically, financially, relationally, emotionally or spiritually."

There were more but I don't want this post to be too long. :-)

I think it is awesome that you are turning to a forum you once dreaded or did not want to engage into.
I like the fact that whether we choose to believe it or not, law of attraction exists. I believe like attracts like. So if our mind is in a negative state and so we do attract it. As well as if our mind is in a positive state we too attract that.
I listen to Ester Hicks and I love how she explains Getting into the Vortex. I even bought the meditation cd as I am learning to let go of my worry state of mind - a habit I noticed that sticks with me at work and before work. It is quite exhausting to be in that state.
As well I noticed if I am in a state of gratitude and feeling happy and abundance - I attract more wealth.
I am focusing on letting go of my view of money. When I have it, I feel I can survive and we will be fed and our bills paid - this is when I am in a state of fear. Yet, when I let go of that fear, and allow abundance into my life - money, and other things come into my life.
Good luck. I hope what you read here is helpful. Ester Hicks has a website with videos about this sort of stuff - just Google Ester Hicks - Abraham.
    PS have a wonderful day.

    I always believed in BALANCE.

You can be talking about energy, positive or negative or what not, but sometimes you just got to look at the world and live it as it is. Then again, sometimes the world isn't all there is, so take a step back, look at yourself and analyze

I hope this message finds you well. I haven't read the other responses to your post, but I can give you my input.

Someone goes bankrupt, and it is because they are funneling negative energy... when it my view it is because they aren't wise with their money.
The world is a complex place. What struck me most about your statement is that you refer to a large group of people as "they", conveniently placing them all under the same category; as if every single person is exactly alike and lives his or her life by exactly the same rules. Nothing can be farther from the truth.

Each person exists in an incredibly unique situation and experiences the world through their own lens. Nobody has ever lived a life and participated in the same exact events as any other person who has ever lived.

But I wouldn't say that above is a rule either. If we refer to a group of people as "they", this statement is still valid. Groups of people do get affected in similar or the same ways by larger forces. For example, decisions carried out by the government of their country.

Now, I'm starting to think... MAYBE, just MAYBE you guys are on to something. I don't know anything about what you guys talk about. Positive thinking, funneling energy, and all that crap.
People who think about personal development are usually open to the possibilities of developing in ways that are uncertain and not traveled before. This task can appear scary to some, and that is why they prefer to stick to their logic.

Those people are still logical, just as you are. "Thinking positive" requires assessing the situation logically, thinking about whether it is a good or a bad idea to continue telling yourself "Things are good" and observing whether there is any change in their life as a result of that thinking. That seems like a binary choice to me. They are not people who just tell themselves something like: "no matter how unrealistic, things will work out for the better."

They simply explore an alternative way of thinking. There is little known about psychology and the physical way in which the brain develops in as a result of forcing yourself to "think different", to a common man.

I like logic, I like facts, and the fact is I may be a little ignorant to what you guys are saying in this forum.
But what is logic? You said that you have 9 clients who are almost ready to give you the green light; but they are not. Did you not arrive at this situation by using your logic? If it is so precious, then why are your things falling apart? (Literally, like your door).

Can you predict what will happen to you within the next 12 hours? Write it down on a piece of paper. And then as things happen to you, see if it is really as you predicted.

How about a week from now? A month?

Logic constricts you and gives you safety, in a world that is... admit it... unpredictable. We don't know what will happen to us within the next day, let alone next week, or month. We don't know about whether we have captured a good or a bad website client, whether they are just "riding you" by pretending to be interested, in order to obtain professional expertise from a web designer such as yourself. Clients who pay, usually do so within the first week of contact, and not uncommon... within the first day. If they didn't, that means they are looking for alternatives because they can't afford you.

Perhaps in the past you were able to make more business in a given amount of time, but things are slowing down? Sometimes it's possible to live under the impression of a false belief, when you really are just getting lucky for reasons that are beyond your control.

WTF?!?
Could you ever before in your life say and believe that things were going well? That you were happy around Christmas time, that you paid all your bills on time? That you had an awesome girlfriend who loved you and you loved her back? That your Web Design business was working out great? That all 9 clients signed up for your website services?

Well, nobody can ever say this, unless they are spoiled rotten by their family or some other circumstances in their life. You are in a struggle, like so many other freelancers or small business owners. Fact of life. There are reasons for this, and but it has nothing to do with whether you think of life as a negative experience or happily ignore the bitter reality of it.

Did I really bring this on with negative energy? I feel loony for even posting this, and wondering if my negativity or, in my view, "being realistic" is the cause of this? Does this sound absolutely crazy?
Actually, you sound like a normal guy. Your concern seems to be legitimate. It looks like you are reaching out to others to compare your experience with theirs.

At first, I did a lot of praying, thinking maybe there was something I'm supposed to learn, or something I'm doing wrong. Kind of ironic I just shook my head at some of the posts in this forum, and now I'm posting in it.
People learn by experiencing something, not by praying. Because that is how your brain changes physically as it adapts to that experience. And "knowledge" is really nothing more than having something done before.

So what do you guys think? Is there something I'm missing here? Am I just losing my mind?
I think you are experiencing a feeling of losing control for the first time.

What are you doing to change the situation? You seem to have mentioned a few things happening to you; as if you are a victim of them. But don't forget, where you are in life is often dependent on the choices you made in the past. You chose to live in a house that is falling apart. You chose to be in the relationship with the girl you are with (so far). You chose to be a website designer and you chose this industry where clients can be complete schmucks. Those logical choices that you seem to dearly depend on brought you to where you are in life now.

It is not the phenomenon of logic that makes logic powerful, it is how it is used. How much creativity is there in your logic? Once you begin to question these things; you learn... that you can be in control of some things you didn't know you were, if only you became aware of them. That is perhaps why, people who "think positive" seem alien to you. Perhaps they have given up logic for something else... for learning ways to sculpt the very model of their logic into something more advanced.

But who am I to say this? I am just a guy with 2 posts on Warrior Forum.
