how many of you struggling out there??

i am a bit low so just wanted to write about it

jumped into IM in august 2011 so that i can support my higher studies..

have got 9-6 job presently....

starting by joining a very good and genuine online mentoring program...learned a lot of stuff...

started by promoting IM stuff when i myself was earning any money online...was really finding it hard to drive traffic..it was tough and frustrating... my guest post were not getting accepted...one got accepted which brought some traffic and a couple of signups for my list but no conversion...

i was finding it difficult to write articles that would be accepted on other blogs....there were other means of traffic but i was finding it hard to implement..used to get drained out after 9-6 job.. got frustrated as it was no use trying to rank in google for IM niche..

a good marketer suggested that i shud try promoting physical products instead of IM stuff...

i then jumped into amazon... got free membership to an amazon mentoring program...

i have till now built 4 amazon mini niche site since october.... one is 14th position ..other one somewhere on page 3 ... rest 2 are far behind...

i felt promoting physical product is easier when compared to IM stuff... so i quit my first membership..

dont know from where i got couple of sales as none of my sites were on page 1.... earned till now $15.. continuously back linking my sites...waiting for improvement in rankings... till now was not able to update my site as i was facing problem creating static home page for my wordpress sites.. posted that problem just now in warrior support forum.. i guess once i start updating my site it will improve in rankings....

i aiming for some where near $1k/month and above..

as said before just wanted to talk about this as sometimes i feel it will take ages before i start seeing any consistent result..

all i have done in last 5 months is sit in front of laptop screen when at home...sleeping late night sometimes even at 3-4 am trying to learn all the stuff all there..

any suggestions... similar experience ... tips to remain hopeful is welcome..

Regards

Firstly I would say don't give up!! We all struggle at some point and its how we take those struggles and learn from them and move forwards that help us ultimately to succeed.

Believe you me I know your pain - spent many an hour in front of my computer reading and learning but not moving forwards. The key is to take action - balance learning with implementation (say 1/3 to 2/3 more implementation) and start to get some real traction in your business.

what system are you using for your Amazon sites? Have you got a defined system of backlinking and promotion?! Whilst its not what you may want to hear, there are a lot of good Amazon courses out there (try the WSO section - I've bought a couple recently as I want to develop an Amazon income stream) and it is probably worth investing the $5-10 in one of those so you have a decent proven (make sure it is proven with good results and testimonials) system you can tweak and implement.

You are on the right track, as you say you have now found something you can resonate with (physical products), which is half the battle.

Perhaps you could show us your sites so people can give opinions?

Like others said: DON'T GIVE UP

Now let's come to your issues. You have two of them:

      1. Your articles somehow is not up to the mark which causes so many rejections.
      2. You are finding it hard to get traffic.

The first problem involves couple of things:
      1. Your writing ability
      2. Quality of your topic
      3. Quality of the content and headline
      4. How well it matches with the objective and style of the blog where you submit it for the guest post.
      5. Do you understand the nature and needs of readers on that website?

You need to ascertain the exact reason for rejection.

Now let's move to the second question, which was about traffic.

What means did you try for that? Did you try content marketing like submitting articles to ezinearticles, hubpages, Squidoo, eHow, press releases, video, etc.?

      Did you do social bookmarking?

Please let us know what traffic strategies did you use.

Getting frustrated is easy, much easy. Hanging in is difficult, and success comes to the one who remain resolute despite all odds.

As you said, you are just some months old to online marketing. Buddy this is not the time to feel frustrated, you have not even scratched the surface.

first of all i would thank everyone for replies and encouragement..
now to reply all questions.. i do backlinking myself, use 3way links network, have bought some WSO backlinks that seemed good.

i am putting links to one of my sites...

        tx-nr609.com

i will start updating the site as i was facing some problems with creating static wordpress pages earlier.. so i hope some improvements in rankings after that..

also as i inferred from latest google updates..my sites may seem like thin affiliate site or doorway sites...

please provide ur suggestions as to how to escape the wrath of Big G in my case.... also suggestions to improve my site is welcome.. the site is somewhere at position 20 in google

        hi bikram thanks for reply...
for ezine my article got rejected saying too promotional...
for other traffic methods i was finding it hard to implement for promoting IM stuff thats why i jumped into physical products... which needed to rank in google... i guess i need to go back and study all the traffic strategies again..
any suggestions for traffic techniques other than google would be of great help

It's hard but you just have to keep on going.

I think one of the reasons why it can be so disheartening when you are starting is because you don't realise how much you are learning.

When I look back on the things I have learnt through being involved in IM such as website building, SEO, copywriting its pretty amazing.

It's so easy to get discouraged in this business, especially when you can't visualize your potential results from all your effort. One thing you should do is to stick with one system. Based on your description, it sounds like you don't stick with one long enough to see it to fruition.

Don't give up! That's the easiest thing to do. I work 40 hours a week (second shift), go to night school once a week for my master's, and take care of my kid during the day. All the while finding some time to fit in my IM business. Is it easy? NOPE. Is the hard work worth the reward? YEP.

You CAN do this. You have the potential, you just need to set some goals, make a plan and stick to it.

I'm struggling too, so I'm glad you shared this. I've got a good enough start to not be working a job, but I'm still far from my goals. I think it boils down to determination, perseverance, and grit.

It all comes to fruition one day, and unfortunately, that day doesn't come on either of our time tables!

Many of the internet marketers are still struggling, I'd say most of them..

But, don't you ever give up, cause most people do.. and most people fail!

As everyone has said: Don't give up. Don't expect things to happen overnight either. SEO takes time, PPC/PPV need a steady flow of cash to be successful... $1000 a month is a lot harder to achieve than the "training" you're receiving will tell you.

If you want to quit your day job right away; consider opening up an in-demand service to get to your monthly cash goals.

In a seriousness; you've only been at this thing for a few months. Time to settle down and get in it for the long haul! The days of a college student jumping into the game to make some fast ****-berry cash are over.

If you are starting off with something it usually seems like its the hardest thing you have ever done. Success shall come to those who stick in there through the hard times. Don't give up! If you want to be successful then keep working. If you don't want to be successful... The choice is yours. I am a newbie just like you and i will stick with it until i get to my goals. It will be worthwhile when we start cashing in those checks!
I would like to advise you not to learn without implementation. As soon as you learn something, don't strive to learn more before you have applied what you already know.
All the best in your endevours.
    Felix

    Hey

Dont give up, I am in this field for nearly 2 years now. To be honest I have made only 2 sales in this time period. I tried out things and failed a lot of times, I still dont wanna give up coz I know that if I master this, I can get to great heights.

Just think about how much you can earn if you master Internet Marketing, you'll always be motivated.

DON'T give up, whatever you do! This is like when you were little, very little, trying to learn to walk. We keep falling over when we are first learning. Gawsh, dunno how many times I fell over on my rump. And crying when my rump hit the floor.

I took my first few stable steps the other day. I had been at some other forum trying out a Wordpress related job for someone. Turns out that I HAD the skills to do Wordpress mods and plugins and MySQL and so on to set up all of the necessary Wordpress installing and getting Wordpress underway for someone!

Finally, I boned up and "let go of the stroller handles" so to speak and took my first stable steps after shaking for a minute or two. I went to oDesk, got id verified and filled out my portfolio and profile and started bidding on nice-budget Wordpress jobs.

Landed a 450 DOLLAR Wordpress job interview just the day before Christmas. That was my very first STABLE step.

of course you don't want to give up, but i understand how you feel. I'm from the netherlands where everyone keeps their hands on their wallets, even if you can place their site on google #1. Very frustrating, because i know what i'm doing and how to do it fast. most of the wso's are about emailing fist, then calling or about prospects calling you. Difficult, because the time difference is an absolute killer, since i don't see business owners handing me a few hundred dollars without even spoken to me first.
I have several sites on the first and second page of google where i promote other peoples' products, but so far i have made $ 40 in 2 yrs!
i'm where you are....what should i do and what do i need to really be making some money. But i know it can be done, so that's why i don;t give up just yet. some day we'll get where we'll need to be. good luck!

    Hi,

At some stage, something just clicks! Yet persistence and ensuring you are not distracted by multiple pathways has helped me. Once you find the pathway that works, continue to journey down it and keep walking.

The day will arrive, just not necessarily when you want it to!

    cheers, Patrick

My "babies" were stuck under the ice, metaphorically for 2 years! "Compound those 2 years into a value of 20 minutes of real emergency scenario, and you'll get a whiff of how that felt! Imagine all of the screaming and crying of the mother with no help seemingly forthcoming for seemingly hours. Fearing the children are dead, help suddenly appears and the kids pop up and suck in air like hungry men. Mother cries very loudly with jubilation "My children are ALIVE!"

My "babies" who are my online skills were stuck under the "ice" of my skull for 2 years, unable to get one gulp of air. I couldn't recognize that they were the KEY into making me money by Freelancing. They were seriously under white ice, where I couldn't see them.

One day, I go to a forum to help someone with a Wordpress site. Turns out, a hole broke out of the ice and the "kids" popped up and sucked in air and screamed "Mommy I Am Alive!" I knew I had hit it very large when I went to oDesk and found MANY 100 dollar to 5THOUSAND dollar jobs matching my skills! I was crying, whining and sobbing for joy and jubilation!

It is crazy feeling to have no reasonable evidence that you will succeed and yet your gut tells you to press on. I did that 7 years ago and went from $12.00 to $125,000 a year and help usher in the 3D conversion business. Only to be bought out by a huge vfx company and let go. Now I am on UI and I have to do it again. This time I am putting all my energy into my efforts for my business not for someone else just for the comfort of a paycheck.

    Keep at it!

    Help this helps or inspires

Unless I have missed it, don't see discussion by the OP and others about the traffic he currently gets. Makes little if any difference how good his sites are unless he gets substantial traffic he simply will not be making much money. That's especially true (IMO) with amazon.com where even with good traffic it's real difficult to make much money from amazon sales.

We can offer you some 1-1 coaching and see if we can push your sites into money making positions.

One thing you need to know if that with Amazon mini sites unless you are on first page then that site is very unlikely to make you any real money so that would be something to focus one. The site does not need to look wonderful but it does need to be position 1-5.

Hit me up on skype or check out our WSO. No need to pay until you have tried us out

I would like to write few words to all of you who are struggling. And I can bet that everybody sometimes is going through this from time to time.

I will NOT say: DO NOT GIVE UP - this is quite obvious. You wake up, you do your job, and never give up, you go to sleep and even in your dreams you never give up.

First I would like you to watch few videos, not just any videos, but very special ones:

I've been in online business for about 10 years now. Most of the time I spend on eBay and other marketplaces in Europe, so I could talk for a very long about my "adventures" bad and good .
I will share with you one:

When I made my decision that I will be selling products online I was looking for suppliers in Germany (I'm from Poland) because I didn't have money to buy from China. I sent at least 30 email to different companies found on eBay.de that I will pay in cash, but all refuse to do business with me. I was very angry, because I didn't know why somebody do not want to have my money (I still don't know). But I didn't give up, and I was keep sending emails and calling people and I found a great person from Berlin. My perseverance paid off. I had really the best products on the market and after 10 years I'm still in contant with him.

    Kris
