The "Great Hope" I find in these Threads!

So I am new to this industry and new to this forum. It was brought to my attention via a the owner of site I purchased and I am forever grateful to him and to all of you, so thank you!

I started my journey many moons ago when Prodigy in DOS was all the rage. To some of you young IM'ers that's like recalling Tommy Dorsey or Buddy Rich. I have never seriously thought about really developing a revenue generating site until I built Point Pickers. This got me started on a train that I am determined to ride into my "Golden Years." For most of you here, not that is not 40.

Anyway I just wanted to shout out my gratitude to the attitude I find in these rooms. It's much like another group of rooms that I attend where they tell me to keep coming back. I am here to take; no doubt, but I am also here to give wherever I can.

The problem with this industry is that there is too much you can do. I find myself learning about a certain technique or campaign and before I can get it off the ground a new one comes along that seems even better. My enemy is myself and my scattered brain. There is a wealth of knowledge and an abundance of ideas here. The key for me is to focus and harness. You know many fail because they get too much too soon and try to do too much with. So be patient, take it slow and it will come. Find one thing, master it and then move on.

I write these things because I need to learn them as well.

Funny thing is I thought that all I had to do was offer a free site that plays a great game and gives away $100.00 and I would have thousands. Haha, what a joke. In the hands of some of the great leaders in this forum, Point Pickers would probably have those thousands of subscribers, but in my hands it has a long way to go but that's OK, as it has humbled and inspired me to learn and grow.

You are all my family now so thanks for everything and my best of the new year to you all.

Hope this helps and inspires.

Agreed on this point. The IM industry is a classic example of the paradox of choice -- so many options overwhelm us and leave us unable to choose. Success does not come in floods of information, but in the development of one skill at a time. Eventually, you possess a toolkit that can take you to the top of Everest, but the journey to the top takes many moons. Best of luck on your journey.

    I totally relate to that.
Remember that the jack of all trades is not good at anything and achieves only small deeds.
Steady and slow wins the race so keep yourself focused and you might just achieve success sooner than you thought of.

    Be happy, be successful,

great idea though. It could still work, just give it time. The $100 incentive is good, you just need more reach. Keep building your reach, and I must say that I agree with you from your other post that Twitter is a good way to go. I get about 30% of my traffic from twitter. But you gotta spend some good time on there getting the right "targeted" followers and then interacting with your followers. Build rapport on twitter with the people interested in your niche and grow your twitter a bit every day. Then your twitter will be your goldmine
