Do you believe in fate? Has everything always happened according to your plans?

Anything could be described as fate, or could it just be a coincidence thanks to the choices you've made?

For instance say you missed your usual train and end up on the following one and meet your future spouse, guess some people would describe that as fate? What if you called in sick that day, go to the store for some medicine and meet your future spouse there, is that fate? There are an infinite amount of ways your day could turn out, which is why I believe fate doesn't exist and our lives are just ruled by choice. Although, I guess you could say the power of choice determines our fate? Or maybe I'm just rambling haha

What if I say that fate is something that none can understand accept God. We all know that our minds work no more than even 10% of their total potential. How can we understand mastery of God then?

The apparently random selection of a particular choice is I think fate. Even the great thinkers couldn't define fate. I don't know why I'm trying to understand something which is most probably impossible to.

Not really. The only fate I believe in is the inevitable consequences of your actions.

Stick your hand in a fire, it will get burned.
Throw a rock at a glass window, the glass will break.

Once something is done, it's done. There is little to nothing you can to for it to be undone. However, that doesn't eliminate the fact that you had a choice to do it in the first place.

I really agree with BlogDog. You can never determine exactly where you are going, but you can try to make the best of where you end up!

Faith is a mental concept, an excuse to get off their hands the power and responsability people have over their life.

Don't you think it is easier to say "Damn I had this car accident, it must have been written, I couldn't escape it" than saying "Damn I just had a car accident, why was I so distracted?!". Beileiving in faith is taking responsability off of your own hands, it is saying that your life situation couldn't be better because it was written to be like that.

Having faith and beileiving in faith are two different concepts and getting into one could propel you to success, the other will make you stay in your own little god-written world....

    Be happy, be successful,

Do not worry about the future for it is not yet come. Live each day in the present and make it beautiful.
Fate is for those too weak to determine their own destiny.

Fate is not an eagle, it creeps like a rat.
    The future was with Fate.
    The present was our own.
Resolved to take fate by the throat and shake a living out of her.

You control you fate. You decide what you want. Doubt creates doubt. You must believe that you already are what you aspire to be to become that person.

As a Christian I believe that our fate ultimately is in God's hands. Romans 8:28 says "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose."

That doesn't mean that God is out to make every Christian rich. What it means is that He is out to make us more like Christ, which is what it means when it says "for the good".

Having said that, I believe that we have a part to play in all this--we don't just sit back and let Him make us more like Him. If we sit around and watch TV all day, we can't expect to grow in our faith.

God almost always requires a stepping out on our part for whatever He's called us to do. Just about every great action in the Bible began with a stepping out on the part of someone to answer the calling.

But as we commit our works to Him, we can be confident our fate is in His hands and He is working in our lives for our good.

  • I met my fate

Some time ago I met my fate
I met my fate in two brown eyes
Saw him and knew he was my mate
so funny, cool, but yet so wise.

Heard his voice and loved it,
Saw his face and loved it,
Read his writings and loved it,
    Heard him talk and melted,

    Love his hair turning gray,
    Love his accent so sweet
    I don't think I can convey
How he makes me feel complete.

I know that fate plays games with me
That has always been the case
    Because together we cannot be
    Gotta forget that gorgeous face.

    He's got everything I dream
I said 'for him I'd change religion'
He shines for me as a light beam
    But...he lives in another region.

I gotta try to find myself
I gotta live in 'here and now'
I need to work on my inner self
Gotta do it, but I don't know how.

My quest for findings has started
My fate will help me here, I know
I feel so powerless and daunted
But have a life plan to bestow.

Fate is a destination. In life, there are many fate you can arrive to. The actions you took in the past determine you current fate. Your currently action determine the fate of your future. No matter what you do, you will arrive to your fate. Now the question is, do you want to arrive to a fate of happiness or sadness? It's your call...

Some believe everything that happens was meant to happen. That we only THINK we have a choice. No one really knows if that's true or not. But I choose to live my life acting and thinking that I do have a choice. That my actions do make a difference. That I can change or alter my path if i choose to do so.

Fate, I believe, can be a very deep subject when approached from a philosophical perspective. But, when we speak of fate, it would seem to me at least, that those who believe in fate, know their fate. It is 'knowing' your fate which promotes lazy thinking.

If I believe in fate and I know or believe my fate is to become rich, then why would I dedicate myself to hard work?

I believe there is fate to some certain extent.

However what we have to be careful of is being lazy expecting 'fate' to hand some sort of riches or greatness on a silver platter with no work on our part.

Always work as if everything depends on you.

I believe in fate but I also believe that if I want something bad, I need to work for it. I think it's fate when I cannot explain something happening in my life, like when it's impossible, but it still happens.

Hi everyone, the opinion is always debatable but thats the only way express something. I like to see that fate cruel also pleasant. I also like to see fate as a specific attitude belonging to the individual alone. Taking care of his/her business according to what the choice. But what about devoted to fate individually and someone else destroy it what is that a fate is a creation anything could void? Is it something that outside of a person's capabilities? Just a thought also confuses me.

Now I can think that fate or destiny has two faces. Its is pre-decided but one can change it by hard work, thinking smartly, etc. If it were not true than God wouldn't have command us to pray..
I mean it clearly proves that prayers have the power to change the fate. Is it true?
