What Are The Advantages or Disadvantages Of Buying Expired Domain Names ?

Having read that search engines respect old domain names, l want to venture into buying expired domains and then host.Can anybody tell me the disadvantages or advantages please ?

    Here's the thing. The only reason ppl say they get respect is because it is one more way of google thinking you are a legitimate site. The reasoning behind it is, if you have been there longer you are probably not some ****ty spammy site. However don't think that all other things are not considered. I would only take advantage of these sites if you actually have a plan and have done some research, then just buy the domains and flip the site. Don't look old domains because they will somehow get you rich if you have a technique. They won't you still have to do the other stuff too.

    If you are choosing old domain who was selling the same products what you are selling or what you gonna sell then it can reduce SEO process because from beginning of that domain the site was crawled many times and you can get already created backlinks for that domain too. that's why old domains are preferred most.

    I've read that people will purchase old domain names for the link juice they have, but also when they resell the site on Flippa it appears older, and possibly attracts a higher sales price. I haven't personally done this though so I'm not sure how effective it is.

    They have age which is always good, also some may have link-juice which could be potentially beneficial.

      There is the potential for disadvantage: the URL may have existed previously but it may have been used in a bad way.

      Google may have black listed it, there may be links to it on disreputable websites that you don't want to be associated with, etc.
