Teens (14+) making money on IM

I believe there are many teens lurking on this forum and I believe they have made a couple of hundred dollars online but I got no proof of that.
To those teenagers, share your stories, inspire us!

      Kudos to you! 60 x 20 = 1200 ! Amazing!!! Is that per day?

Seems he says, it's per a week, meaning he earns around 150$ daily, not bad.

The sooner you start, the better. I'm in my mid-20 and I just realized, how much time I wasted already on some pointless crap or by doing literally nothing.

IM is a great place to escape to from the real word sort of, at least it gives you this amazing hope that if it all works out as planned, you will be free to give up your "****ty" everyday job and live a happy and independent live.

On the other hand, lots of people tries to find in this an easy was to earn thousands of $ and it's an everyday struggle to not fall for it. IM isn't easy, it isn't cheap, it takes lots of time, effort and nerves to get somewhere. I'm also not sure, if teaching young or very young people would do any good, because they're already pretty hooked up on internet things and this would get them a feeling that they might just keep doing nothing, use some internet tricks and get rich over night and that's not right. I'd firstly ensure, I will have enough qualification one day to perform some normal job and then expand to IM business, because if it doesn't work, I still leave myself with a back-up plan and that should be taught to younger generations that IM isn't a 101% way to get rich and it doesn't work for everyone, certainly everybody should give it a try, but not count on that he becomes a millionaire by creating a bunch of affiliate webs.

I'm a teenager(16) and make a lot more than what any average teenager makes. I started this because 1) I wanted a lot of nice things that my parents couldn't afford 2) There were and still are a lot of people that I know that have done a lot for me and I want to give back 3) There was and still are lot of ADULTS that doubted me for a lot of things, and I wanted to prove them wrong. I now can say I'm self employed and make more then any of them.(One of the best feelings ever) 4) I knew from the start, that I wouldn't ever work for somebody else and get paid terribly and work 9-5. I HATE waking up at 5am every morning for school and I know I wont be doing it in 6 years from now.

I think IM is very risky for a teenager because, teenagers are more gullible, and because a lot of teenagers spend money terribly. Another problem is, if you succeed as a teenager, more than likely you will have a very different mindset which at times can make you look terrible. It's very stressful and I don't think should be done unless monitored or coached on a regular basis.

I guess it's never too early to start. Started out when i was 20. Still trying to find my footing. The good thing about im is that there is no age bracket that can make it work... no age restrictions. 14? Great! At least you have a headstart!

They're 10 and 14. Both have small offline and online businesses that they set up and are running with my help. They're seeing enough money come in to buy some of the fun things they want and pay for those things themselves. The 14 year old already has ideas for new businesses to start on his own, and I'm just about ready to let go of the reins and let him try it without my help. I think I've taught him enough that he'll do just fine, and his ideas....especially the one he really wants to start now....are solid.

Kids do have much better avenues to make money these days.

Back when i was a wee lad (not that long ago) back in Australia, we were only allow to get a part time job at around 14 i believe if memory serves me correctly. The most common jobs then were Fast food jobs or shelf packers at the local supermarkets. The internet was still young and i remember those beeps and whistles of trying to connect up to the internet through my 56.6Modem.

Nowadays kids haven't even heard what that sounds like and they are making money at home. My younger half brother who is about 16 is focused on making money through the internet, to be honest he was the one that got me into the warrior forum. I do think that they do have a lot of potential to make it big. I wish myself that i had started earlier, but the good thing about IM is that its not too late to start.

I wish all the best to these new young marketers, hopefully they can teach us old dogs a few tricks or two.

That's definitely great that IM isn't restricted by age I sorta wished I knew about this earlier rather than doubting its power for a long time (I only got into it in late September/early October of 2011...so I have a long way to go!), but now is better than never! I definitely would like to see some of these stories though!

    Hey guys,
I started making money online when I was 13. I was in 7th grade and re-selling refurbished iPod nano's on ebay (buying them from apple, upping the price and making a middleman's profit). Even with my high squeaky voice, I managed to sell over 100+ iPod's in the space of a few months and earned $20-30 on each unit. Since that early age, I knew alot of money could be made online!

I was 14 years old when I started an online soccer store called kickitdeals and that would usually bring me a few hundred dollars monthly and even a few hundred dollars weekly if it was peak buying season!

Fast forward now to my current age 18, and my goal this year is to be earning a million dollars in revenue by the end of December.

I've tried and failed in literally dozens of markets. I have tried online day trading & the stock market, social networks, web design, etc. One piece of advice is that you have to keep going after every failure and making money does not come easy!

Books that have changed my life are the Four hour work week by Tim Ferris, Rich Dad Poor Dad - Robert Kiysoaki and the Magic of thinking Big by David Schwartz.

Currently, I am getting heavily involved in mobile marketing, design and apps as it has alot of potential to go before it reaches it's full capacity and therefore alot of money to be made.

Anyway guys, follow your dreams, follow your passions and don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise! Keep going, believe in yourself, work harder than anyone else you know and persist, persist, persist! Never give up!

    Nick

One more thing, don't forget to be a kid! Your only a kid once and staying home on the computer all day is not exactly the greatest thing to define your childhood.

hang out with your friends, family, have fun, do whatever, but at the same time keeping a focus on what your goals in life are and what's important. It's a fine balance, but trust me, you don't want to look back even when you have all the money in the world and regret...

Well I don't think it's horrible I mean if your passionate about something and really motivated to achieve a goal you have, then it's time not wasted at all.. at least for me

Tonight I was out with my friends at a sucky club party, so I immediately called a taxi to go home and work because that's what I'd rather be doing!

I'm 19 and I just started in IM so I haven't done much yet although I've made some money online when I was a little younger flipping various products on ebay.

My goal for now is to earn at least $75 per week by the end of the year and I'll see where I go from there.

I have to agree with Nick, even though I'm young sometimes some parties just aren't fun and I feel like I'm wasting time being there when I could be spending my time building an empire!

Don't get me wrong I love a good party, it's just I don't think time spent building a better future for yourself is wasted time at all

Totally agree with this - I'm glad I'm not the only one! ;-) I rarely feel like getting wasted is worth the time/money/hangover.

I started when I was 19, so a couple of years ago now. I've made money mostly in the online services niche, but have expanded into the offline services niche and am now working on creating a bit of passive online income.

Maybe this could be a 'new' niche what with the new computer generation. "Earn while you learn" "Make money instead of grades" haha. I do think though as time progresses more and more young people will start making good money online while still at school and will have something nice to work upon once they leave...

    Cool stories here
I'm 14 years old, I made my first 1000$ last year, it took me 6 month to achieve
I live in Georgia (little country near back sea), internet shopping isn't popular here so i started my little business, my mum helped me. I redeemed 25$ amazon gift card for free from Lockerz (It was website where you could get points and then redeem some products for free) and I purchased Neocube I wanted it very much but didn't liked then I opened box, so I sold it for 50 Gel, it's about 30$ then I purchased 3x neocubes from ebay, each for 10$ and sold them for 50 gel each and so on, but right now many people are doing same and they are selling neocubes for 30GEL (they are earning around 5$), so i'm out of business but those 1000$ brought many cool things in my life including money for hostings, vps's, domains and laptop computer and I started learning SEO and IM. I have 1 failed project and right now I'm working on another, hope everything goes well

I was doing the same sort of thing when I was your age. What you need to try to build is a monthly income that comes in regularly, rather then finding a popular product to sell that many ebay sellers find and sell aswell until eventually the market gets overcrowded.

Wow. This thread caught my attention while i was just browsing for valuable posts. Amazingly interesting. This is my first post in Warrior. It will be a good start reading out the successful stories.

Let me share mine. I started my online biz (content writing) while i was in my final year of engineering and its been since 4 years. I have made good amount of money. I am new to Warrior but am not new to online business and content writing. Making good enough money to take care of myself and at the same time i employ about 10 guys in my writing team. I am happy that i have grown up to employ this many people in the team and the best thing is that i generate some employment opportunities to them. As of now, i am able to clock a good revenue but soon aiming to touch the higher versions of $XXXX.

Hope Warriors here will wish me good luck in this aspect.

My son is 14 and has been making money online for a couple years now. His first blog didn't make much, but then he got into eBay. Sold anything that wasn't nailed down in the house. Of course, he spent it just as quickly. Then he tried doing some dropshipping, but after getting burned once when a company in China didn't deliver he learned his lesson. Now he has a microjob site that he's building up, a Fiverr type site. This is a bit slower to build, but he's enjoying the challenges of recruiting gigs and growing a list.

Now if I could just get him to focus on his grades and schoolwork with the same enthusiasm...

I think teens have a lot of potential to do well in IM.

Teens nowadays are online pretty much all day and all night and live by the computer...

The perfect time for a teenager to start trying to make money online was YESTERDAY!

    The majority of us don't:
    - Have regular bills to pay
    - Have to support a family or friends
    - Have a house to pay off

The majority (not all) of us are still being supported by our parents - we should be taking advantage of this. The low barrier to entry for IM should be motivation enough to start building a solid business.

If you fail then get up, dust yourself off, and keep trying. If you persist, the law of averages is bound to kick in

This is exactly why I got into this. It has a lot of potential, and later on when you do get to 22, 25, 30, you have lots of years of experience. Maybe a start up or two under your belt, a multi million dollar business, who know. There are so many possibilities that are created because we start at this age

Getting a real nice website completed and when it is finished I have about 3 telemarketers (paid on commission) who are getting leads from local businesses who dont have a website (pretty hot leads if you ask me) and we are offering web design.
I expect to complete 3 websites a week (from outsourced web design company) at about $900 profit each.

      Thanks for your comments.

Do you mind me asking what service you use to get your telemarketers? I have no idea where to find telemarketers that get paid on commission (and no fixed salary)

If any of you members have services I should know about it, just let me know!

I just turned 17 yesterday. I am from Atlanta and I learned about this when I was surfing the internet. I found out about it about december, but I just last week convinced my parents to open a bank account for me.

I am starting with creating Amazon affiliate sites. 1 website per week by hand at first, but when I start making 20 dollars a day, then It is time to outsource. I made a goal for this to occur by the end of April.

I have a couple other projects that I will start around summer break after I have good funding. Some work with a couple small businesses and one small business with one of my dad's friend.

Two things I am looking for though: Where can I find a mastermind group, and how do you guys set goals. I want to do these properly, because I hear they are important.

      Hey Pete, good to hear!

Outsourcing will save you HEAPS of time.

The Warrior Forum is a mastermind group! Join the War Room if you can, there are tons of amazing free resources being given away there.

And about goal setting.. well I do it like this.
I write down where I want to be in one year, five years and ten years.
For example, by the end of 2012 I have a goal of earning x amount of dollars. I plan out the steps to reach that goal and what I would of needed to have done by the end of March, June, September, December to reach that target. Every single week I promise myself to sit down on a specified day and write my plans and tasks for the week.
The majority of the tasks are do are building ON my business and focusing on the long-term result. Tasks that are beneficial for the short-term tasks are outsourced and I try avoid them as much as possible.
I write the tasks down for the week and promise myself I will complete them by the next planning day. I may stay up all night if I need to, but that's where dedication and commitment matters.

And that's my little thing about goal setting.. and it's got me a sustainable living income within 4 months of starting this technique.

      Good luck!

My friend Jeff has started to make money online at the age of 20, even just a little. He experienced lots of failures in his career and the expectations from his parents. He truly inspired me of his recent success after learning all of the mistakes he had, now he proved that his parents are wrong.

Currently, he has a stable income of his IM services and learning deeply about affiliate marketing. I'm very proud of him being dedicated and believed in his IM career at a young age.

That's excellent news! Well done to him!

A lot of people offline (including parents) usually think that what we're doing online is somehow 'shady' or deceptive. Yes, the minority of offers out there are dodgy, but the majority of marketers are ethical.

Many don't understand that it is completely possible to make money online (and a lot of it, if you know what you're doing). They're just stuck in their little bubble.

Personally, I've found that once you show them that initial cheque, the one that says, "Yes, this is entirely possible, and I did it" that is where their perception changes.

      Take Care.

It is very inspiring to see so many young entrepreneurs here. I would have loved to have the internet when I was a teenager. My only advice would be learn and master one business model at a time, and by all means READ "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki.

It's great that we had in young times Internet and Computers to start getting knowledge about earning money online.

30 years ago, people haven't this opportunity and they needed to hard work for their businesses. Now... If you are only smart, it is very easy to earn money using only YOUR OWN mind and fingers.

I started when I was 15. I made a looooooong way from that point. Now I am 21. I guess, I already earned in the Internet more than $30.000 using various methods. I'm glad i wasnt like others. I mean, i wasnt a poor college student. I didnt need to go to work, and I didnt need to take money from my parents. It is so good feeling!

I wish that all of you guys ;-)

Started last year at 15 years old. Almost 16 now and currently have a tech news blog and a new affiliate review site. Started the affiliate review site about a week ago and now has a minimal number of steady visits. My tech news blog gets a solid amount of visitors daily, just need to properly monetize it now (may try Amazon.)

Hoping to see some sorta income soon.

I guess I get to contradict your title I am 13 years old currently, but I started back when I was 11 (well like 2 weeks before I turned 12...). I started with video games, but currently I am working on a website to help other bloggers get a head start into what a large work money making online has become by providing info and support for free (as many beginners do not have or are very careful about $).... i am hoping to make a living by the time I'm 18 but... i guess its 1/100 so... I'll just keep working

Started when I was 17, currently 18. I have a passion site in the online gaming niche that has been earning me a steady $100-400/month for around 10 months now. I also launched a few affiliate marketing sites around that time, but they all flopped.

I've been reading and learning and absorbing every piece of information from these forums and others since then. I've just bought a few domains and am planning on launching a few more sites within the month - my goal for the end of the year is to hit the $2000/month mark (at the very least).

I still wish I would've started earlier though.

With technology advancing at such a fast rate, I'm confident the computer literacy capabilities of new generations might (in the next decade or so) advance to such a level, that even some of the most experienced warriors on WF have competition.
