Sad friend you all are wrong.Buddha was born on Nepal in the place known as Lumbini and Indian have stolen the old bricks of that place and have created the same place in India to fake others.I n reality Buddha was born on Nepal .Check it out.I recently researched on it and found it was true.

Why does it matter where he was born. I am not a budda fan however what I understand about budda, the principles and teachings are what are important not the place of birth, though I love the country nepal I dont truly see why this matters.

If you are from nepal I guess it would matter to you however the teachings are what matter not place of birth.

If you are from nepal I guess it would matter to you however the teachings are matter not place of birth.

You are right that it doesn't matter where he was born.But the question really arises when there is misunderstanding on any topic.
