What's your biggest obstacle to success?

I've been thinking lately about the things that hold me back or stop me from being more successful. I'm not complaining here because I'm actually doing pretty well. I run an SEO business, an NLP training business and a print newspaper business, so I can't sit here and complain. It's all good.

Still, I keep myself achieving more by not leveraging my time well. I'll sit for half a day tinkering with some obscure or relatively unimportant SEO tactic when I could be using that time to make real money and build my businesses.

So, my number one enemy = DISTRACTION, or spending time doing less important, non-priority activities.

What's your success enemy #1?

Distraction? Lack of a good strategy? Fear? No time? No money? No motivation? Too many Twinkies? What?

Just curious.

If you feel like it, tell us what you do to overcome it. For me, it helps when I plan my week thoroughly, rather than blow in the wind every day.

My confusion is always my success enemy #1. Whenever I decide to achieve something then there is always another option in my mind through which i become unable to achieve that success sometimes.

Fear of Change. The only way I've found to overcome it so far is to embrace and remember my goals more clearly and then to meditate about them. By meditation, I mean visualize myself having attained the goals; what it would feel like, etc.

My biggest obstacles to success are discipline and sacrifice. When I have a purpose or a goal that I should set, I must commit and willing to succeed with this. It requires self-discipline to keep this going until I succeed and to sacrifice the ones that really wasted my time.

Doing things half-heartedly. That's probably my biggest obstacle to success. I do things because that's what others do, not because that's what I wanted to. Whatever the outcome is, it doesn't matter much to me; somehow, I know I have to stop doing things that way and start finding my true motivation. Problem is, I still can't figure out what. ( -_-"). I know I'll figure it out one day, that's why I try out various things, and keep my mind open to other (and bigger?) possibilities.

Definitely Twinkies, they haunt me in my dreams

Sometimes it's motivation ... when you periodically get trapped in the details and lose sight of the bigger picture. Always take a little time every day to remind yourself where you're at, and where you need to be, and frequently step back and look at things from a fresh angle for new insights.

I have that " Fear of Fear" syndrome though I am tackling it pretty effectively but what serious slows me down is procrastination. My family thinks I will be a billionaire the day I stop procrastinating. I believe I will tackle it very soon. While going through this post I see that most of us have the problem of being focused and give our best to the task in hand.

My worst enemy is stress. I really got this stress if I don't like the work I am doing. I should first love the work assigned to me before I can overcome this stress in me. I always pray though when tough time comes in.

I have a habit of dancing around activities on the computer from working, checking emails, checking news websites, forums etc.

I'll often just stop work for no reason to do this pointless cycle instead of allocating time to each after a task is finished.

The biggest obstacle to success is the subconscious mind. It harbors deeply held beliefs that we didn't consciously choose which in turn create our world view, which lies hidden from our conscious awareness. Many of these beliefs are limiting beliefs because it is the subconscious mind's job to maintain the status quo and assist us in operating in the world as we know and experience it.

The good news is that if you know and understand this, you can change it. You can consciously choose your belief system and then upgrade your world view with the right tools.

This has been our area of research and development for years, and we just released our subliminal subconscious reprogramming tools this week. You can check out the details in our WSO here, and feel free to PM me if you have any questions at all.

    best,
    Michael

For me it is mostly distraction. And distraction doesn't mean only surfing too much on the internet, watching movies. Distraction sometimes can be attending some venues or events, which can be fun, of course, but it can really slower your success.

I am not saying that i am perfect in combating distraction, but i think that the best idea is to stick to your business ( or any other thing you want to succeed in) as much as possible.
