From my own experiences one of the most helpful things is to set a list the night before you goto sleep ( be realistic here) and as soon as you wake up you do that list in order. Once you finish one thing on that list you move directly to the next. This makes it so that you don't end up going off on a tangent... which is how most people tend to waste precious time.

After I started implementing this in my daily routine I found that I began to get many more things done much faster.

Also from my own personal experience I find that if I run in the morning I tend to work about 1.5x to 2x better throughout the entire day.

I really agree with this, but there's one missing component that you didn't mention, which for me is important - Prioritize! Have to prioritize that list. What's the most important thing to accomplish - top 2 or 3 in a day - down to least important. Of course it doesn't always work out so nice and neat each and every day. But the prioritizing is still important for me.

I use sticky notes on my desk - as I get each note taken care of, I rip it up and toss it in the trash. I don't know what it is about the action of doing this that is so satisfying, but it works much better for me than a checklist.

Remove distractions while work and make sure the environment around you is quite ( good for concentration). I personally like to have a to-do-list, as it helps me to complete more work on a daily basis.

    2. Work faster
This will not always get things done. Doing it faster can lead to something not done. Messy, but you can miss some things when you rush.

Anything easier than this list to get things do i hate working long hours.
Do fewer things but higher payoff tasks sounds good though.

Anybody read "the four hour workweek".? Tim has some great tips in there. Hard for most of us to grasp, I speculate that this due primarily to our default thinking and behaviour. It is beyond our comprehension to begin with that such a concept may be attainable.. "whether you think you are right or wrong... you are correct"

For me I get things done by applying this simple principle "work now, play later" and "no work, no play." It helps a lot to accomplish things.

Ok this is the big one that has made the biggest difference in my productivity. And that is

DON"T DO ANYTHING ELSE UNTIL YOU COMPLETE THE PROJECT YOU ARE WORKING ON

Say for example you are producing a new information product. The idea is that you work on that one thing, and nothing else until it is complete.

There are three main reasons I believe this works well.

    1. Things actually get done - Work gets completed and monetised, no more wasted projects.

    2. External Pressure - If you are working on one thing you will at some point face external pressure. Someone will want you to work on something else, there will be some new thing you want to try. But if you stay disciplined you only have one choice. Finish what you are working on now faster.

    3. Focus - Your mind isn't trying to work on a million different things. Your world consists of the work that you are doing right now and nothing else matters.

I design a list of things that I want to get done. And for each a put a stop point in place. If you are doing a WSO, your stop point might be "list WSO" you hit that stop point and it's on to the next project. But until then you don't work on anything else.

Sounds simple, but it takes discipline

Just keep steppin. I mean I am always scattered and going in many different directions and I am a pretty organized person. I guess that is called multitasking. However, whenever I look back I always see things I accomplished. I must be doing something right but all I do is keep going.

i think if you set yourself a very short time period to get something done, you will be able to work faster and get more things done. Instead of thinking: "I got all day to do this", think "I only got 2 hours to get this done!". See what happens

Leo Babauta, a "time management guru" many have probably heard of, has a book called Focus. There's a free version and a paid version with more content. I've only read the free version so far, and it has some pretty good advice about focusing on one project at a time, and being more productive by doing less.

Staying excited goes hand-in-hand with that. I know people who do work on things they should be passionate about, but they lose the passion somewhere along the way. So I think it's important to stay excited.

Even when you have to do something you're not passionate about, try to find something about it that excites you.

Make a list of things that you want to accomplish during the day and check them off as you do them. I also like to listen to music while I am working but it may distract some of you. Everyone has there own ways to concentrate and stay motivated.
