Umm...don't aim for $1 million dollars yet man, it's a long way to go and needs some hardwork and creativity. The best way to make your own goal is to start small first. For example, your first month states that your goal should be at least $3 a day. If you achieve that, keep going for more but do it slowly and surely.

Wow - slow down I think! $1m is a huge amount - perfectly possible in the LONG term, but not immediate.

I agree totally with Dan - you'll need to break down you goals to much smaller ones. The reason for this is that if you come across any obstacles, you'll falter at the first hurdle if your goal is too far ahead.

Get a goal setting template and work out what to do from there. Long term, short term, obstacles, reasons for setting the goal etc.

Yes aim for lower goal first...

It's really too much! Anyway, it's better to divide your total target among the months and try to fill up your monthly target. Similarly distribute total target to different projects from where you want to earn and try to fill up target one by one.

    $1,000,000 per year equals:

    $500,000 per 6 month period
    $250,000 per quarter
    $83,333.33 per month
    $19,230.76 per week
    $2,739.72 per day
    $114.15 per hour
    $1.90 per minute
    $0.032 per second

I put up the hourly, per minute, and per second goals for fun, but you can start by looking at what you'd need to earn daily, weekly, and monthly. Then, ask yourself what type of business you could be in that would generate those levels of profit and how many units you'd have to sell per day, per week, and per month, to reach your bigger, annual goal. When you break your larger goal down into smaller chunks like this, you can begin to work towards your goal in a more manageable way. You may also want to ask yourself what type of business you would enjoy working in because, to earn a million dollars, you have to be operating on a fairly large scale. It will work to your advantage if you enjoy the work that you will be involved in.

Fabulous answer. I did not appreciate those who were advising to start smaller because I believe whatever the mind can conceive it can achieve. So your answer puts everything in perspective. It si for one to look at the targets and ask themselves whether they can actually do it.

Well, considering one works 8 hours a day and 5 days a week, one should aim at earning no less than $600 per (working hour) to become a millionaire. That's hell of a money

NICE!!! I must say this is a great break down! All I can say is make a $10,000 a month plan. Once you get to the point where you can lay back from it a little UPSCALE!!! Spend some time doing THOUSANDS of small niche blogs that are adsense, click bank, and amazon optimized...each blog with 30 seo friend articles..you will reach it sooner or later if you say screw personal life lol

I'm with Khana. I just lost my job 2 weeks ago and my goal right now is to make my 1st sale. I think once I have that, I'm going to celebrate like crazy.

The ultimate goal for me would be to spend my time doing this well enough not to have to work a out of home job again. To me, that's just as big a job as dreaming $1,000,000 a year. To me it's almost equivalent because it would mean I am totally relying, implementing and depending on myself and making it happen!

If I can manage those 2 things, I think $1,000,000 a year would be next on the agenda. But for now, I want to make my 1st sale and then be able to work completely from home and support myself. That would be totally satisfying on both scales at this point.

forget the 1 million figure .. what kind of lifestyle would you have if you made 1 million dollars a year ..

i think the focus on a money figure is ok.. but we must first decide on a lifestyle we want ..1 million a year doesn't nearly go as far in a big expensives city as it does other places ..and with an internet business you can almost make the money you need to have the lifestyle you want any where you want to live .

the focus on a big dollar figure is a relic of the old way of life much of the world still thinks we are in .. where you could make a huge amount and then live comfortable ..make a million then move where you can relax and enjoy life ..

where it is quite possible to live where you can relax and enjoy life ..and make money to support yourself for the rest of your life ..

things that popped into my head while reading this. in order to be rich you need to:

    1.) dream big
2.) do what you love -- in that way you'll never feel like you are working. from what i read somewhere, many millionaires felt like they never worked a day in their life.
    3.) learn more everyday
4.) there are no quick rich schemes. be persistent.

    Reverse engineer it.

If you haven't made $1 online then start there so then you would have no reason to stop. Then just scale, do what ever you did to make that $1 again and again.

You see you found something thats working for you, and now you can create a product on how you did it.

Sell the product to build that list, now that you have that list, you start delivering value to that list.

Then start promoting more of your stuff, to the list via webinars or other means. Keep doing this until you make your desired amount of money online.

Dan Kennedy has a DVD called "The Phenomenon: Achieve More in the next 12 months than the previous 12 years." There are people profiled who accomplished $1 million their 1st year in biz.

The book version is available on Amazon, but I've only seen the dvd.

The website was: In12Months.com but looks like the site has been taken down.

You can probably find a used copy on Amazon or ebay, etc,.

Your first goal should be to create an acceptable weekly and monthly income.

Shoot for smaller goals first, because when you reach them you'll accomplish things faster.

I don't know about your current situation, nor how much money you are making online. But you need to understand that you grow slow, and it takes crazy effort to build a successful business.

Always set BIG goals, but start working on smaller goals first.

I would break that into months and first make sure you are achieving the six figure range before leaping toward the seven. If your not making six its going to be hard to make seven. But if your making six then scale up and up until your making seven.

If that makes sense. You have to crawl before you can walk. I dont think anyone is born running.

Whenever you set a big... massive goal, heck, any goal, there will be people who tell you that you can't do it....

So what if it takes more than a year. If that's your goal, go for it! Worst case is you fall short, but your momentum may eventually carry you to your goal. But, you could accomplish it! Only one way to find out...

Anyway, I recently read a book called The Millionaire Fastlane. Check out the reviews at Amazon. Its an awesome book & it definitely will help you in putting together your plan.

Setting high goal will help you and don't be afraid of that. If you decide to set the goal like 3$ every day you are projecting that small amount of money in to your head and it will very hard to make more. If you decided to make like 1000$ every day and you reached 500$ you will be happy right, but it will be easier for you to reach 1000$ in the future.

Set the highest goal, build a plan and stick to this plan. Focus on doing things so that you can succeed even faster. And have this plan in front of you. Every time you are doing something ask yourself if what I am doing now will help me to reach that goal.

That's a high goal, but go for it.

My goal is this. Make $1,000 in one day online.
I'm gonna light up an expensive cigar and take
a snip of some costly brandy. Girl power.

Most I got to was $725. That was rare, but at least
it let me know I had a chance!

$1,000 a day would be $365,000 a year. That perspective
makes the one million seem pretty lofty!

      But go for it!

I think you will find that making a million dollars in a 12 month period is fraught with massive amount of risk.
Unless you are a CEO of a large corporation then you wont make it from a job.
A majority of millionaires have done it through the creation of an idea. That is creating something new or making something better.
Be wary of get rich quick schemes and high interest rate returns. It is best to find a niche, develop it as cheaply as possible and nurture it over time.

Aiming to make a million dollars right when you start doesn't seem realistic - but only for now.

Like was said earlier in the thread, if you break down the process of eventually reaching that goal into smaller, precise steps, then the ultimate goal of making a million seems more feasible.

Also, saying you want a million dollars might sound a little bit like wishful thinking if you were to say that to someone. If you are consistently putting in the right kind of work that actually brings you even an inch closer to that goal then you are making progress and will succeed if you want it bad enough.

The problem with going from zero to $1 mill in one go is that to make $1 mill you need to overcome million dollar obstacles and solve million dollar problems to get there.

To make $100,000, you need to solve hundred thousand dollar problems and overcome hundred thousand dollar obstacles.

If you are used to ten dollar obstacles, and solving ten dollar problems, you don't have the experience to solve million dollar problems.

In order to get there, you HAVE to work hard and go through all the smaller steps first. Your mind needs to adjust to the idea of solving million dollar questions and problems in order for you to have a stable income of $1 mill a year, if not you will lose it again. That is why most lottery winners are broke after a year or two.

They are not used to handling those kind of numbers and are not prepared for the mindset needed to make and keep that kind of money.

Your goal is only as realistic as your mind perceives. If you truly believe you are capable of making a million in a year then NOBODY else can stop you.

if u compartmentalize your target, it becomes seemingly easier. Look at it like this, all u got to do if find 1000 people who will give u $1000 dollars. Think of a product u can sell for $1000 dollars and how u can sell it to 1000 people.

Maybe this will help. I'm heavily into the LOA "Law of Attraction" thing, and had a period where I could almost taste it. During this time period a friend I met online said that is where you want to be. That friend was a billionaire so, I think he should know. He also told me when I got started I would make a million in a year which, contrary to popular belief in order to make a million you have to bring in two million lol, unless you leave out the taxes.

Now here is how I look at things. I always think big not small when I look at anything concerning business, I basically look for two things, how I can have control over the thing or be in charge and also how can I automate the business. If I can figure all that out then I will consider it the thing to do. Also, I prefer to look at a chart like this and lets use a membership site as an example.

        27mthly x 10members = 270
        27mthly x 100members = 2700
        27mthly x 1000members=27000
        27mthly x 10000members =270000
        27mthlyx 100000members=2700000 There you go!!!

Remember this it's basically like it says in Think and Grow Rich, roughly only 5 percent are actually getting busy. And when i say getting busy I do mean with plans and a model. I mention that because I see so many on the web talk about other warriors how they are just redoing something that was already done before when I look and clearly see they either have a different model or an improved model all laid out for you.

I've been in the Forex trading for a while, and I can tell you that Forex is "FULL" of life lessons, not just market lessons.
and the most important thing I learned form Forex is, "Slow and steady wins the race".

Do you want to Make a million or Net a million? Big difference.
You would need to make $1,639,344.20 to net $1Million (figuring a 39% federal tax bracket)

I think it's a heard work and a big load on your back. I believe in steadiness, but if you can reach your goal it will be a tremendous achievement.

I applaud your desire to make the big bucks right away. Though it is very rare that a person becomes so successful so quickly.

The best way as the above poster wrote to make money, is to scale things. Get a good idea. As soon as you start making 5$ a day on it, just start scaling the business.

Destination should be big. If your goal is small, then you may get even nothing. But a big goal will bring you something if you by any chance fail to get the full of it. But I wish you reach your goal completely.

When you find out I'd like to know as well $1 million in a year is a pretty healthy income.

  • There are enough lessons here that you will not need a course.

The only thing I would add is find somebody who is making a million a year and figure out what it took for them to do it.

Any advice from somebody who is not making that money (including myself) is pretty useless.

One way to make $1 million per year is to become a highly-paid authority in your chosen industry. An authority is an expert who is recognized as such by others.

The idea is to develop a product funnel, from free products (free video, audio, newsletter, e-book or a report to generate goodwill and build a list) to expensive ones, and use your status an an authority to promote the products, adding up to a million per year or more.

As an authority, you generate income from the following mechanisms:

    • Printed books
    • Membership sites
    • Public speaking
    • Training and consulting
    • Seminars, webinars, conferences
    • Certification programs
    • Coaching
    • Mastermind programs
    • Affiliation and endorsements

Becoming an authority is not easy, though. It entails constantly improving yourself as an expert, and marketing your expertise. The rough estimate is that becoming an authority takes at least 5 years of hard work.
