Hello Warriors!

The reason for this post is for you to share why and how you came into the IM business. You have to admit, its a pretty strange place to end up and I find it fascinating to hear about how and why people do the things they do (but then again I do have a degree in Psychology :p) so it could just be me.

I'll go first, why did I start IM?

Well when I was a little girl, while all the other girls wanted to be ballerinas or princesses, I always said I wanted to be a writer or work for NASA. Well, I ended up being horrible at math so NASA was out
Anyways, so I went to college and got a BA in Psychology and Philosophy and couldn't find a job with that.

I have been doing freelance/ghostwriting for years and just decided to make it full time after I graduated, much to my mother's chagrin. However, as soon as I started doing freelance writing full time I knew that there was something going on behind all those strange requests. I did some digging and here I am!

However, my true dream (other than creating a successful online business) is to be a novelist. Kind of silly I know, but hey, dreams make us who we are.

So why and how did you come into IM?

Obviously to not work a 9-5 job. (8-5 for me)

I want to make a full time living making silly videos like the top youtube people and IM will definitely help in that aspect.

I used to work as an engineer until I fell pregnant with twins (on purpose... lol) and then I decided to become a full time stay@home mom.

I love it, but after a year or two, I wanted to get into something challenging (aside from the challenges of being a mom). Ultimately, I wanted to start earning money again, but I didn't want to go back to a full-time corporate job.

    Internet Marketing was my solution.

I started working young and grew to appreciate that you can get ahead with hard work and the drive to succeed.

Then i found out that although you may be qualified, have the skills, the drive and the record to succeed yet still not be able to progress in your field due to age old discrimination, and i am talking about ageism. Passed over many times although every target met and exceeded in more than one job.

Moved to Asia and things got better but I became sick of working for someone else, getting only a small portion of what i made for other people and getting the crap from them when you don't increase "their" profit enough each year when they don't increase yours.

Working for yourself at least you know what you earn is yours and you are accountable to yourself. Plus i know help other people learn how to make money and i am really enjoying teaching. You get to know lots of people all over the world and be part of their triumphs. Nothing better than one of your students coming to you and telling you they have made their first sale. Even in skype text rather than voice you can feel and share a bit of that exultation and excitement

I for one know your dreams can come true; but you are the one in charge of making them come through. I come from a poor dis-functional family. Left home at 15 years old and began working in printing company. I am self-taught, I held a career for 28 years in a city hospital. Taught myself to type, shorthand and medical terminology form the local library. Yep it was hard, but then nothing comes without its price.

My passion lies with dogs since my first dog at 11 years old. I didn't realize my dream of owning my own Bark Busters business, studied hard became a Behavior Therapist and a Master Trainer until I was nearly 50 years old.

Now my dream is to become a good internet marketer and live the internet lifestyle.
Another price to pay, in time, learning, money, frustration, but that's part of the ride to get where you want to go.

    Hey Everyone!
To White Dove: I think its awesome that you keep pushing yourself and trying out new things. There is no point to life if we keep ourselves in a rut and then wonder why we are unhappy. I wish you the best of luck and I love the name Bark Busters .

To Brain Candy: I completely agree with you that knowing that the money you make is 100% is an amazing feeling. Keep working and inspiring others to be great!

    Frith,
    Kayla

It gives me self-esteem. Being in college, I don't have to live on my parents money.Apart from that, avoiding 9-5 job, the money is mine, no idiot bosses and things like that

Way back in (i think it was) Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid Butch was asked "why do you rob Banks?"

He replied ' Cos that's where the money is!"

For me thoigh it's the piecing together the puzzle to make something work - then refining it. The money is the proof that it worked.

I do it for the freedom, the lifestyle and because I want to help create change in the world. I'm very passionate about philanthropy and conservation, and I intend to make a difference and donate a large proportion of my income to charity and scientific research for as long as I am able to.

After going to my job that I worked for almost a year doing the same thing, I just said to myself "there's got to be more to life then living like this.". soon after, I quit my job, I finally talked to a good friend of mine who was doing IM despite everyone he knew telling him it was just a pyramid scheme, he was making enough to buy his own car, have his own place and pay the bills. It wasn't something like 100k but more than enough for him to be financially stable.after I told him my situation, he pointed me to this forum and said " I won't say, sure its easy you'll be rich in no time. that's bull. but I will tell you the fastest way to gain quick success, is to talk to those who've already attained a certain amount of success. because if your not prepared when you reach a ceratin point at a certain time, your screwed."

Interesting question Kayla. For me it's the freedom&Flexibility it can bring and I hate the 9-5 mentality and the corporate culture.

It's not easy to make a living with IM but as you might know, the easier path usually becomes harder while the difficult path usually becomes easier!

      Keep working hard guys
