Risks: What Scares You?

Taking risks has been on my mind a lot lately. Probably because in recent days I have taken some risks that scare me a lot, but excite me at the same time.

With every risk there is potential for failure, but I believe there is also far greater rewards if you take them. Even if you fail, my perspective is that you will still turn out to be a better person as I believe failing is part of the growing process.

With that said, I wanted to ask fellow Warriors this question:

What have you done during your IM journey that has scared you, but you took the risk anyway? How did you grow from it (whether successful or not)?

  • The unknown maybe? I'm not a risk-taker for the sake of taking risks, but rather take calculated risks. When I take a "risk", even if it's only a few bucks, it's better to have tried and failed than to have never tried at all. I can live with myself if I take risks and move forward, but I don't know if I could live with myself if I live passively inside a "safe bubble".
  • "The time to take counsel of your fears is before you make an important battle decision. That's the time to listen to every fear you can imagine! When you have collected all the facts and fears and made your decision, turn off all your fears and go ahead!" ~ General George Patton
  • I will always fear the EVIL MONKEY!

Seriously, doing anything Internet related is pretty scary. When you first start out, it takes AWHILE before you make that first dollar. It takes even longer to accumulate enough to get that first check in your hands.

All the while, your friends and family keep telling you that you are wasting your time and it's so hard not to believe them and give up.

But if you listen to just about everyone here, the money is out there and it's good! Don't let fear control you and force you into bad decisions: black hat stuff, buying a million products and not using any of them...

The reality is that there are a million ways to make money in Internet Marketing. Some are better than others, but as long as you keep things on the level and don't resort to anything sleazy, your payday will come and when you roll out of your job and go into an early "retirement," it will be the sweetest thing you've ever felt.

    Don't be afraid, my pretties!

  • I would rather no than not no !
  • The biggest fear was to start it. I planned everything so carefully, just to avoid any risks and still knowing that I am taking a risk. Heh... What I learned is that risks have always that unknown part and you have to take them with a plan in your head. Too much planning is not good, it can make you to cancel many important actions, but hell... just take the risk !
  • Every day you face risks just getting out of bed. Never be timid about living life.
  • I get nervous every time I have to allow anyone access to work on my site, I'm not excited at the concept of someone ruining what I've worked to create.
  • Going into IM without a fallback position is one scary move. I would rather cross a freeway than go into it with no money stashed in a bank somewhere to take care of some rainy days which, in IM, come more often than the monsoon rains.
