The 3 causes of failure in life and business

I've talked to and counseled with business owners and I can say that all failures whether in business or life boil down to these three areas.

Lack of vision, lack of knowledge, lack of persistent action. These three have been hindering the human race for thousands of years.

1. Lack of vision: 4000 years ago God said, "Where there is no vision my people perish." When we look at a person who physically has no vision we call them blind. In business if you have no vision then you're working blind. You'll stumble around, bump into things, and head off in the wrong direction.

If you don't know where you're going than you'll probably get there.

2. Lack of knowledge: The proverbs say, "He shall die for lack of instruction." Proverbs 5:23. God told the prophet Hosea, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge."

"To be conscious that you are ignorant is a great step to knowledge." Benjamin Disraeli,

In a survey done by Dunn and Bradstreet they stated, "Of the small businesses that fail, 90% do so because of lack of skills and knowledge on the part of the owner"

3. Lack of action. Tony Robbins said, "You see, in life, lots of people know what to do, but few people actually do what they know. Knowing is not enough! You must take action."

I add on to that persistent action. It isn't the one massive action that accomplishes great things. It will be the day by day persistent action that will eventually win.

"The lazy desires and yet has nothing. But the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied." Proverbs 13:4

Not knowing, not seeing, not doing.

The good news is that you can correct any of these quickly.

There's only one cause that causes faillure:
Lack of implementation due to a lack of knowledge and understanding.

I think is the real truth. The haerdest thing for me is gaining the knowledge and figuring out how to implement it.If I could this 2 things out, everything else will fall into place.

    This is exactly the point.

Nobody is doomed to failure. Nobody is doomed to stay at the same level they are on right now.

I may be proof to the contrary of this statement.

    Here are alternative ones.

    1. Giving up
    2. Having the wrong strategy
    3. Not taking action

OK, so there are some similarities there, but not entirely.

    Great insights.

I think if anybody cared to read the greatest motivational text of all time, then the book of proverbs would be adequate. Whatever else that has been published is simply a rewording, rephrasing or expansion of the proverbs. I seriously think so.

Lack of confidence and laziness is my point for failure.

Great list of points. Lack of a vision that inspires them, not having a sense of working for a cause larger than themselves - these are some of the root causes of all kinds of failure.

I guess if you take persistent action and learn from your results, you can always make adjustments to your strategy and ultimately become pretty good at reaching your objectives.

Failure starts from the mind. If you think that you will never be successful, then you have already failed even if you haven't been to Step 1 yet. Have faith first, then failure is not an issue.

This is excerpted from earn1kaday blog-

How to Fail At Making Money Online

For every successful online entrepreneur, many have completely failed. In order to become one of those success stories you need to understand why it happens.
A good way to do that is by taking a look at how people fail miserably at making money online.

    Trying To Get Rich Quick

Like anything worth pursuing, making money online comes with a lot of trial and error. You have to be willing to fail (and fail often) in order to achieve true success.
Come into your new business with the mindset that you will succeed, but it’s going to take some time. You will invest tons of hours, lots of sweat, and even a few tears; but it will all come together for you.

    Forgetting You’re Running a Business

Running a blog, website, or any other online business requires the following:

Time: Yes, you will read tons of literature out there with people claiming they make thousands of dollars by only working 4 hours a week.

This may very well be true, but it didn’t start out that way. You have to be willing to put in lots of hours if you want to get to that level. When you initially start out, you will likely put in a full 40 hours a week.

Money: Okay, so starting an online business doesn’t require as much as it would to start something brick and mortar. But, you still need to be willing to put up some cash.

You will need at the least a web hosting service, web design, a domain name, and an emailing service. You can get all of these things for a few hundred dollars, so you aren’t going to break the bank, hopefully.

Labor: You can’t just sit around waiting for something big to happen. You are going to have to put forth the effort and create your own success. Take action and go after what you want. That is the only way you will achieve your goals.

    Learning The Wrong Way

Many people fail because they go out there and soak up any information they can get; and it ends up being the wrong information. If you go out and survey in the streets, you will get all sorts of information thrown at you.

It’s important to really learn the basics behind your business. If you are a blogger, read what the foremost authorities on blogging have written. Don’t go ask your son’s best friend who runs a blog on World of Warcraft.

If you want to sell your crafts online, find a community of those who successfully do so. The biggest advice I can give you is learn from the best in your niche. Sure, there are tons of experts out there with great information, but if it has nothing to do with your area, then it is likely only going to confuse you.

Learn your niche, get to know your market, and find the right community to help you build your business. Shut out all of the information that doesn’t pertain to you. The more garbage you ingest, the more likely you are to just give up.

    Waiting For Things To Happen

Never sit around and wait for things to happen for you. Lazy people rarely ever succeed.

Take action and spend at least 5 hours a day learning your new business. Study as much as you can about your market and niche. Write content everyday. Come up with new product ideas weekly.

It is important to constantly evolve your business if you want to make money online. The Internet is growing faster than we can keep up. If you miss a beat, you may kill your business. Stick with it, and success will come your way.

    Hi.

I believe the 3 causes of failure in life and business are lack of 'knowledge', lack of 'clear perspective perception', and, lack of 'self awareness'.

The comments presented in this thread, are based on two dimensional thought. Fundamentally, there is nothing wrong with that, however, it could be suggested, that there might be better explanation as to the initial expression as well as the subsequent responses offered here.

For instance, the initial expressions regarding the comments concerning Biblical references, might not be as accurate as presented, unless they were determined through reading the scriptural text in their original design and formation of alphanumeric language.

It might be found, that even in the first verse of the 'Christian Bible' or 'Hebrew Torah', that one can find geometric equations that indicate a different type of knowledge than what is presented through current modern day allegory and story.

As examples, take the product of the number of letters in the first verse and multiply it by the number of letters tin the first verse; then divide this result by; the product of the number of words in the first verse and multiply this result by the number of words in the first verse, and get within 0.0012 % result for, 'Pi'.

Product Of Letters X Number Of Letters / Product Of Words X Number Of Words

    =

    2.3887872 x 10^34 x 28/ 3.0415352... x 10^17 x 7

    =

    'Pi' = 3.141554509... x 10^17

    'Pi' (3.141554509 ~ 3.141592654.... underestimates by 0.0012 %)

Don't get it twisted, because I'm just a messenger of this fact. I didn't write the book or it's scriptural verses.

This means that various religions, just might have been presenting less than accurate information translations, that have been based on the allegorical scriptural interpretation presentations of their leadership. The general meetings as we can see them at this period in the condition of time, actually have totally different underlying interpretations of meaning.

In regards to this type understanding, it simply all boils down to an individual's conviction concerning culturally placed morals, environmentally expressed ethics, the clarity of perspective perception sensibilities, the wisdom harvested through intelligence, and or any given blend of their combination.

This tiny bit of information just means, that the scriptural allegorical stories as presented by various religions and theocracies, are reality presentations of a surface skin of actual information.

    'KNOWLEDGE', Is A Key.

Now consider the psychological chemistry of words that we use for communications such as loss, failure, evil, doom, kill, destroy, dead, etc.

With each of the aforementioned words, there is an associated psychic and or emotional response. This dynamic functions as a natural effect of a given stimulant, whether it be tangible or virtual. Physical or psychological.

This function occurs within the mechanics of an individual's psychological behavioral dynamic, and is more or less pronounced depending on that individuals orientation into the intrinsic ancient technologies that concern the workings of behavioral thought trend, or, away from this discipline.

As this is the case, the word 'failure', is to be considered less than a consideration in one's vocabulary regarding a perceived result of an intended effort. Rather, it might serve an individual in a more significant fashion, if they were to augment their vocabulary with word phrases like: greater sensitivity, further disclosure, more value, function better, need to enhance, and other verbal emotion containers, which will naturally cause the formation of sentence string structures as reflections of an always positively forward thinking thought trend state of mind.

And of course, behavior follows thought; success follows behavior; and achievement follows success... This means that likewise, the so called condition of failure follows thought, and so-on. If this situation would tend to suggest that an individual might advantage themselves if they introspectively considered the faced in the mirror as being the reflection of their own vocabulary, which by the way, can be adjusted and changed. Something to think about, don't you think?

The 3 causes of failure in life and business are lack of knowledge, lack of 'clear perspective perception', and, lack of 'self awareness'.

    Agreed.

I guess in this case Lack of a Vision is also lack of a plan, so if you don't know what the plan is (including the end goal or result) how are you going to get there? Which is said quite aptly in the quote:-

"if you fail to plan then...you plan to fail"

Take good care of those that you love.

Discussion in this thread shows that there are a variety reasons for failure, each dependent on the individual and their current perspective.

As Jeff has pointed out, the good news is there is something we can do about any of these causes: take action! ... To recognize them, address them and overcome them.
