There's also the desire for perfection - wiring until a product is absolutely perfect before launching. It's not necessary, as Microsoft have shown!

Many marketers also spread theirselves too thin. They try to learn everything all at once and get overwhelmed. Many are also not self-driven. They expect it to be easy and they don't like the idea of having to really spend time learning something without getting paid.

      Their Belief System.

We are nothing more than a bunch of belief systems. Whatever belief system is dominant in a given moment that is what we are in that particular moment. Even the external world and events are just a reflection of our dominating belief system.

Dreams come true to those who manage to bring together their mind set and belief system.

When there is conflict between our mind set and belief system, the all powerful belief system always wins. The good news is, we are the ones that created our belief system in the first place and we have the power to modify it to agree with our mind set. When we set our mind (mind set) & create or modify our belief system to agree with the mind set, we achieve our dreams no matter how big the dreams are.

Many many times in the past I have told someone about some project only for their response to be "thats not possible" or "it can't be done"

LAZY! Let's not forget this one. I am grateful for this forum to encounter like-minded people. I cannot believe the mentality of most people I come into personal contact with these days. If its not delivered on a platter, given for free, or done for you, people don't want to be bothered. If it takes more energy than putting the TV remote down, Don't ask them.

You say you're going to try it out...of course that leads me to my favorite quotation...

"Try is a non-committal word that justifies mediocrity and failure".

Fact is, in my opinion, if you're going to try to succeed you've given yourself the excuse up front to fail. After all..you did give it a good try...

    those are so true.

I think one more is being too idealistic. Some people expect too much like they're going to succeed immediately, or that everything will go their way. So when things go differently from what they thought, they get frustrated and many aren't able to deal with that.

I think, many of these reasons to failure or success are greatly discussed in a book "Think and Grow Rich". In my opinion, one must read that one.
