I have been doing some reading on this and recently watch the Secret movie. I find it interesting and would like to know what you all think about it.

Thanks,

The Secret is a fantastic movie. It gets you thinking in the right direction to manifest the things that you want. But it is just the tip of the iceberg. The Secret is LOA 101. Just scratching the surface.

I highly suggest reading stuff by Bob Proctor, James Arthur Ray, Jerry & Ester Hicks and Neale Donald Walsch

The movie was actually based on the book The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D Wattles. Great book!!

    Good luck on your quest!!!

I don't think that I necessarily believe in the Law of Attraction as it's presented in The Secret, but there is certainly a lot to be said for putting your nose to the grindstone and envisioning your own success.

There is a lot about the universe that humanity does not yet understand...

It's very important to maintain optimism when things are going rough indeed. Your mindset will help you immensely when tough decisions or situations arise.

So how do you develop a better mindset? Constantly be aware of your thoughts. I've heard it be referred to as 'meta cognition' before. When you are able to connect the dots between your thought patterns, not only will you be able to realize them and improve them, but also learn a lot about yourself! It's truly incredible.

What three principles should we all try to aim for?
      1. Think GOOD thoughts
      2. Speak GOOD words
      3. Do GOOD things

The principles above will bring you so many different kinds of success; emotional, financial, and health wellness.

      Yours in true success,

      Freddy

        Hello Omari Taylor here,

The movie "The Secret" was a great movie. The law of attraction really does work but I believe you need to take some kind of action to attract things into your life. That is the one thing that I believe was left out. But other than that it was a great movie. Best wishes.

This is one movie I've been meaning to watch. I wanna get the book too as a reference. Have seen the trailers and am itching to watch the full movie now.

Though to sum up, you attract what your mind thinks about. If you think positive, you will attract good things. Simple as that.

    Try it out!

I think the one practice I have really learned from the Secret and the Law of attraction is to avoid giving too much attention to negative thoughts. I do believe it is so much easier to attract negative than positive.
I'm not always as good at it as i could be but i make sure i try to distract myself when i get worried about something and most of the time it has been effective at keeping the negative thing away.

I've always been interested in self improvement and have read a lot of books, but after reading the Secret and the Power I've been really taking it in and searching for even more books on the subject. I've read some terrific books and several that relate the Bible to the LOA.

I'm not really religious (but I do believe in a Supreme Being) but there are some quotes that I'm familiar with, that I finally understand the meaning - one in particular is 'and the Word is made flesh'. Never had an inkling of what it meant, but now know that it basically means 'the Word becomes reality'.

I absolutely bellieve in the LOA.

To be honest I think it is the biggest BS ever.

Thinking "positively" will get you no where.

    Only doing something will.

The more I learn about life, the more LOA seems to make sense. Generally speaking, good things happen to people who think (and do) good things.

It's not just about "thinking positively." The LOA is always working in your life whether you want it to or not.

Your entire "reality," or outer world is a direct response to your inner world, and this includes your relationships, finances, career, what kind of people come into your experience, support, bank account, accidents (I believe nothing is random), and body ailments/illness.

Ever hear of mind-body medicine? You can trace certain physical problems to your mind pattern, or way of thinking - self talk. (ex. "I can't stomach this situation" can bring about digestive issues over a period of time)

It's not that much "thinking positive" as it is BEING positive. It has been said that we don't attract what we want, we attract what we ARE. Some think after watching 'the Secret' that they can now just want something, visualize it and it's there (and then they say that it doesn't work, it's bs etc). Quite on the contrary: wanting generates more of the underlying feeling (lack and want) and this is what the person then attracts.

For example, if you want more money, first raise a feeling inside that you already have it. And then, with that feeling, give some of it joyfully away (givers gain). That way you create a more abundant attitude inside and start, little by little, to be that person who has more money.

Boy this topic never goes away. There is no law of attraction. People don't get sick because they think or attract about sickness, nor do people get rich because they think about or attract money. It is fine to have a positive attitude unless of course you become blind to facts that should make you change course. Spend your time planning and doing and you will be fine. Good luck

Sir, that's where wrong I'm sorry to say. People do get sick because of the thoughts they think, and people do get rich because of the thoughts they think.

If you want health, get the Heath consciousness, if you want wealth get the wealth consciousness.

The reason why people don't believe in the loa is because they don't understand it. But believe it or not your working with the loa.

Sure, rich people didn't get rich reading think and grow rich, but you can replicate a synthetic version following the same principles. Easier said than done, but it can be done with the right attitude.

In the end, the loa says you get what you believe. It's spiritual, only they don't teach it referring to "God" they say "the universe" because if they said God most people would probably run.

      From the words of Jesus,

"As they faith be done unto him"

Everyone's heard of 'karma'... whatever you give, you receive. It works in the negative as well as the positive. I can tell of 2 instances in the last year regarding the negative aspect.

I got really angry with an AC company, thought they had cheated me. I don't think I've ever been so angry. I thought about it over a weekend then Monday called the owner and we had a meeting. It was resolved but I was still absolutely fuming. Two days later I did something I never would have done normally while driving and I was rear ended and my car was totalled (nobody was hurt, thank goodness).

The second time was when I got really angry and quit my job. I was angry about 2 weeks before I quit, then it wasn't a week later I got a ticket while driving (I hadn't received a ticket in over 10 years).

People may say those are coincidences, but I firmly I belive I caused both things to happen to me. If you're an angry, negative person, you're going to attract negative events to you.

          You are what you think.

What's said in "the secret" is true, but the entire message isn't delivered.

However, there's a little misunderstanding. If thoughts become things, I would turn into a woman :-)

There's a mechanism inside of us that's drawn to things. We are attracted to things, especially if we are in a particular state of mind (like in love).

Attraction is a very fragile process. But if it is continuously utilized, becomes stronger.

If you change yourself first, rather than changing others, you'll attract like-minded people and push away those who aren't.

Only if you possess the right state of mind, you'll attract things to yourself.

      Really?! Amazing.

Starting in 1918 for about 2 & 1/2 years, 50 MILLION people died from an unknown virus. I wonder what 150 million people (not everybody who got it died) had on their 'mind' to bring this about?

So those black babies in Somalia don't have to be dying by the thousands because of malnutrition and lack of water? There mothers just need to 'feel' like they're ordering Happy Meals with bottled water?

Let's e-mail them now and let them know.

If you focus on the negative aspects of your life, negative things will happen. If you think about the positive and are really grateful for things in your life, the more grateful you are, the more things you will receive to be grateful for. I also believe that beliefs change suddenly or gradually with life experience. I believe in getting clear on what I need, asserting my needs respectfully, and learning from the results.

    Hi Inbound,
I saw the Secret Movie like 2 weeks ago on Netflix.
I must say I agree with 90% of it, but the thing that I don't subscribe is all the talk about "meta energy and how things will manifest themselves". They also don't mention anything about "taking action".

When I saw this movie I concluded that it was produced by a very smart marketer who is targeting people who want miracles without putting much effort into making them happen. It is like preaching to the quire. That's why it's so popular. But that's just my opinion. It's brilliantly put together, I wish I thought of that :-)

Thinking positive, visualizing, being grateful and thinking clearly about what you want is very essential for success but nothing great will ever happen if you don't take massive action towards your goals. Psychology of positive thinking? Hell yes! Wishful Metaphysical Law of Attraction? No.

I prefer listening to Tony Robins who kind of says the same things without the meta crap but focuses on the "taking action" part. He helped me do some major changes in my life. That stuff works!
