That quote makes me cringe, and I hear it far too often.

It's not even when discussing Ferraris, estates, or yachts, but camera supplies, I often hear, that cost a few grand. They're no where near the level of exclusive.

Work harder and smarter! Seriously, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy to say you can't afford something and not do anything about it. Do something about it! You don't have to be the smarter person in the room, just the most dedicated, focused, and ambitious!

If you think you can't you're probably right.

    I doubt that that is an American problem. I mean, the "American Dream" is named after us.

    I think the "problem" is deeper than that. More people need to be shown the light.

    I agree - not just an American thing by any means. "American Optimism" is a common term used because many Americans truly believe they can achieve and do anything.
